CHANDIGARH, AUG 4

Jat Sabha Chandigarh will organise an International Jat Intellectual meet on November 22 on the eve of birth anniversary celebrations of “Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram”, a renowned leader of down-trodden and peasantry. Intellectuals and scholars from all over the country and abroad will be invited to take part in the meet. The theme will be “Contribution of Jats in the Nation Building”.
It was decided in a meeting of the Executive Committee of Jat Sabha Chandigarh held under the chairmanship of Dr. M.S. Malik, IPS (Rtd.), president of the Sabha and Federation of Jat Institutions and former Director General of Police, Haryana.
After reviewing the financial position of the Sabha, the progress of construction work of multi storey building -- “Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram Jat Dharmshala” being constructed in Panchkula was also reviewed. It was decided that all members of the Sabha should make their maximum efforts to meet out the ongoing building construction expenses and it was further resolved that each life member should donate a lump sum amount of Rs. 1100 per year or Rs. 100/- per month for completing the construction of building under process and for carrying out the activities of the Sabha.
The members urged that Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens Act, 2007as promulgated by the Central Government should be passed and implemented by the government of Haryana for the safety and maintenance of honour and dignity for old age and senior citizens.
The members unanimously opposed and condemned the condition of passing of School Teacher State Eligibility Test for JBT, BEd. MEd. M.Phil candidates for applying for a government job. It was pointed out that the act of the government of Haryana was a cruel fun with the qualified jobseekers who in spite of fulfilling all basic and necessary educational qualifications will not be able to get employment without passing this test and it will only add to the ever growing quantity of unemployed youths and will provide an easy and better privilege to the state Govt. to employ their well wishers and near and dear ones.
The practice of giving extension in service or giving re-employment to the Government employees particularly to the officers of administrative class after their superannuation was unanimously condemned by the members. It was realized that this is an undue pressure to the administration which should be stopped in the public interest and to give a chance to the new/needy jobseekers for their bright future.
