Haryana CM condoles Chandgi Ram's death

Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of renowned Indian wrestler Chandgi Ram.
In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Hooda said that the recipient of Arjuna and Padma Shri awards, Chandgi Ram was a great wrestler who always kept the flag of Indian wrestling flying high at international championships. He said that Chandi Ram would be long remembered for his contribution to wrestling.
The Chief Minister conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace.
Popularly known as Master Chandgi Ram, the noted wrestler was born on November 9, 1937 at village 'Sisai' in district Hisar. He served as Additional Director of Sports in Haryana and titles like 'Hind Kesari', 'Bharat Kesari', 'Bharat Bhim', 'Rustom-e-Hind' and 'Maha Bharat Kesari' were conferred upon him. He had also set up an akhara to train budding wrestlers.
The most impressive feat of his international career was the 1970 Asian Games in Bangkok. Competing in the 100-kg class, he defeated the World Champion Amvani Abuifazi of Iran to claim a Gold Medal for the country. Two years later he represented India in the 1972 Olympic Games at Munich in Germany.

Admission in 34 regular courses in GJUST

While stating this today, Dr M.L. Nano science and Technology, Food Technology, Mass Communication, Development Communication, PG Diploma in Defence Journalism, Advertising Management and Public Relations, Web Advertising and Animation and Tourism PR courses on July 5, for M.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering and Optical Engineering on July 14, whereas entrance test for admission to M.Tech. Environmental Science and Engineering and Food Engineering would be held on July 15, for M.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Print and Graphics Communication and Nano Science and Technology on July 16, for M.Tech. Geo-Informatics on July 17 and for PG Diploma in Pigment and Paint Technology on July 22.
Admission to M.Pharma course would be granted on the basis of GPAT score, he added.
Dr Ranga said that prospectus containing application form could be obtained from the university or downloaded from university's website www.gjust.ac.in. Admission forms should be deposited with the Heads of Departments concerned by June 29, 2010.

Hotel Management and Computer Engineering courses in Morni Govt Polytechnic for Women

Government Polytechnic for Women, Morni, district Panchkula has invited applications for admission to 3-year Hotel Management and Computer Engineering courses for the session 2010-11.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Polytechnic said that girl students who are bonafide residents of areas falling under the areas of Shivalik Development Board, Haryana were eligible for taking admission to these courses. Entrance test for admission in RIMC in Pachkula on Dec 1 and 2

 The Entrance Test for admission to Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun for July 2011 session will be conducted at Government Girls College, Panchkula on December 1 and 2, 2010.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that only boys are eligible for admission to RIMC. Candidates appearing for the test should have been born not earlier than July 2, 1998 and not later than January 1, 2000 and they should either be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII from any recognised school at the time of admission to RIMC.
He said that copies of prospectus with application forms and set of old question papers for the test could be obtained from the office of Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, Sainik Bhawan, Panchkula and from the offices of the Secretaries, Zila Sainik Boards in Haryana through cash payment of Rs 250 personally or by post or from Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun by sending a demand draft of Rs 250 in favour of the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun. Locally printed forms would not be accepted.
The spokesman said that application forms, in duplicate, accompanied by three passport size photographs duly signed by the candidates along with a demand draft of Rs 50 and Rs five in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, should reach the Defence-I Branch, Sainik Bhawan Panchkula by September 30, 2010.

Haryana Government modifies in granting education allowance

The Haryana Government has modified the scheme for granting education allowance to its employees for their benefit.As per a circular issued by the Finance Department, now the Government employees will be allowed to get reimbursement of Rs. 3,000 for the purchase of textbooks, notebooks, two sets of uniforms, school shoes and transportation charges for a child in a year in addition to the actual fee paid subject to a maximum of Rs. 3,000 per annum.
It has also been decided to grant the education allowance for students studying in Polytechnic or any other diploma course in Polytechnic or Industrial Training Institute after Class 10 for two years.
HAU DECLARES ENTRANT TEST RESULTS
 The CCS Haryana Agricultural University,Hisar will declare the result of entrance test conducted for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes for academic session 2010-11 on June 23.
While stating this today, Registrar of the University, Dr. R.S. Dalal said that the result would be available on the website of the university www.hau.ernet.in after mid night on June 22. He said the results would also be displayed at administrative block (Fletcher Bhawan) of the university.The university had conducted the entrance test for admissions to B.V.Sc. and A.H., B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, M.Sc. Food Science and Technology, M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Bioinformatics degree programmes on June 12 last.
The Registrar said that the result card would be sent to each candidate by post.
 HJ GHOSH ROY APPOINTED DEAN
The Vice Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Dr. R. P. Hooda has appointed Dr. H.J. Ghosh Roy, Professor, Institute of Management Studies and Research (IMSAR) as Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences.
While stating this today, a spokesman of the university said that Prof. Ghosh Roy’s tenure as Dean would be from June 18, 2010 to February 28, 2013 that is the date of his superannuation.

Haryana to soon recruit computer lecturers

Haryana Government is in the process of filling up the posts of lecturers of job-oriented courses in the state and lecturers of computer education will be recruited soon in the colleges to prevent any hindrance in computer education.
This was stated by Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Education, Mr S. S. Prasad while interacting with the Mrs Suman Gulab, Principal and lecturers of Government National College, Sirsa at Sirsa today. He said that the Government College, Ellenabad would commence its academic session from this year. Initially, this college would be functional from Government Senior Secondary School, Ellenabad and the admission would commence from this academic session and the first merit list would be prepared on July 3.
     He said that the classes of English, Hindi, History, Economics, Maths, Political Science and Punjabi would be started in the initial period. All the lecturers for these subjects would be appointed soon for the college. Services of a coach would also be made available for promoting sports activities in the college. He also directed the college authorities to provide furniture in rooms of the college building. He also visited college lab. He directed to ensure all the facilities in the college in the new session. The prospectus of the college had been made available in the Government Senior Secondary School , Ellenabad.

Haryana Engineer-in-Chief Public Works (Buildings & Roads) Department Mahesh Kumar has been selected as Senior Vice President of the Indian Buildings Congress at its three-day 16th annual convention in New Delhi today. It is for the first time that any Haryana PWD Engineer has been honoured for this assignment.
Mahesh Kumar was selected as Vice President of Indian Buildings Congress in 2009. Then also, he was the first Haryana PWD Engineer who was honoured with this assignment.
The Indian Buildings Congress is an eminent body of buildings & structural engineers and all professionals connected with built environment, like administrators, financiers, planners, developers, architects, engineers of all disciplines, horticulturists, builders, researchers, teachers and manufacturers of building materials.
A highly qualified engineer, Mahesh Kumar, 50, joined Haryana PWD as Sub Divisional Engineer in February, 1983 and served on various positions during his last 26 years of brilliant career. He is performing his duties as Engineer-in-Chief since June, 2007. He is technical and administrative head of Haryana PWD (B&R).
Mahesh Kumar had also been conferred Outstanding Concrete Engineer of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana award on September 26, 2008 by Indian Concrete Institute. He is also author of many technical papers relating to buildings infrastructure especially relating to protection against Natural Hazards i.e. Seismic Forces. He has also been honoured by various prestigious bodies. Seven technical papers were written by Mahesh Kumar which have been published in various prestigious journals namely as Indian Roads Congress and Indian Buildings Congress etc. The technical papers relate to “Effect of Water Storage Tanks and Irrigation Water Carrying Structures on Roads”, “Failures in flexible pavements and its economical treatment”, “Geotechnology for infrastructure Development”, “High Rise Buildings – Innovations in Seismic Design”, “Water and its importance in construction”, “Challenges of Globalisation to PWD System”, “Building Infrastructure in Haryana : Solutions and Challenges etc.

He had handled BOT projects when he was posted as Chief General Manager in National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for almost two years from August, 2005 to May, 2007. While in NHAI, he successfully implemented/awarded the Public Private Partnership i.e. BOT projects costing over Rs.5000 crore. Important among them being Ambala-Chandigarh (NH-21/22), Amritsar-Jallandhar, Amritsar-Wagah border, Kurali-Kiratpur, Zirakpur-Pinjore-Kalka-Parwanoo (NH-22), Delhi-Rohtak (NH-10), Jaipur-Mahua-Bharatpur-Agra etc.
Mahesh Kumar has been instrumental in bringing the first BOT project of such kind in PWD(B&R) of Haryana State i.e. 4-lanning of Gurgaon-Faridabad & Widening and Strengthening of Ballabhgarh-Pali-Dhauj-Sohna.
In Haryana PWD (B&R), Rajiv Gandhi Bridges & Roads Infrastructure Development Programme costing Rs.3000 Crores is being successfully implemented under his able leadership. This programme was planned for grounding of projects of at least Rs.3000 crores by 31st March, 2010. The projects costing Rs.3112 crores have been brought on ground by 31st March, 2009 i.e. one year ahead of the schedule.
He has been very innovative in brings new ideas for improving the working and quality of the works of Haryana PWD (B&R). One such examples is Mobile Maintenance Highway Vans which have been developed within the department under his able leadership to repair the potholes and patchwork. Nirman Sadan gets award for best building

Haryana Government’s premier building, Nirman Sadan in Sector-33, Chandigarh has received Award for Excellence in Built Environment for 2009. It has been adjudged as the best building in India, in all respects by Indian Buildings Congress.
The award was received by Mr S.S.Dhillon, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government of Haryana and Mr Mahesh Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief, Haryana Public Works (Buildings & Roads) Department, at the 16th Annual Convention of Indian Buildings Congress held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, today.
Principal Secretary, Mr S.S.Dhillon said that Indian Buildings Congress had invited applications for participating in the national level competition. As many as total 21 entries were received and Nirman Sadan of Chandigarh was selected for the trophy.
Mr Mahesh Kumar told that this building has been constructed on green building concept. It is also energy efficient and earthquake resistant. Rain water harvesting and solar water heating systems have also been provided.
Engineer-in-Chief said that Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s decision that all offices should be brought under one roof, was vigorously followed. The building was completed in shortest possible time.
He said that it is a state of the art, efficient, modern building at a site measuring 3.19 acres of land with a covered area of 10,436 square metres. Preparing the design of the building was a challenging and gigantic task due to multiple constraints and parameters mandatory as per the by laws of Chandigarh Administration.

BEL selects seven DCRST Varsity students

Seven Engineering students of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Science and Technology University, Murthal (Sonipat) have been selected by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Government of India Enterprises, Ministry of Defence in an annual package of Rs 5.50 lakh.

HSAA to celebrate Olympic Day in Ambala

The Haryana State Athletics Association and the District Rural Games Association Amabla will jopintly celebrate the Olympic Day June at village Hema Majra, near Brara, District Ambala from June 22 to 24 as per the guidelines of Indian Olympic Association under the patronage of Athletic Federation of India, according to HSAA secretary Hanuman Singh Bhadu.
Bhadu informed that in the State level Olympic Day celebrations the 5 km mass run for men, 3 km mass run for women and 3 km mass run for veteran’s (above 40 years) will be conducted. Other track and field events for men and women will be 100m, 400m, 800m, 1500m run, shot put, discus and lLong jump.
Besides these events, other popular games of the region i.e. circle kabaddi, tug of war, martial arts, cart races, camel race and cultural programmes for both the sections for men and women will also be conducted. Thousands of the people from the nearby villages are expected to witness this Mega Event.
Mandeep Singh, President, District Athletics Association, Ambala informed that the organisers will provide free board and lodging to all participants and officials during the celebrations. He added that handsome cash prizes will be given to the winners of three places in all events and certificates of Olympic Day will also be given to the participants.
It may be mentioned that the Olympic Day falls on June 23. Pierre de Coubertin is known as the father of Modern Olympics. He founded the International Olympic Committee on June 23, 189. Haryana Government to train teachers

The Haryana Government has decided to train each teacher to enable them to handle skillfully the task assigned to them in the institution.
Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said that to achieve this objective,the Education Department had formulated a systematic Human Resource Development Plan which has already been approved by the Government of India. Recently recruited 1983 Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) would be the first beneficiaries of this scheme.
Sufficient budget provision for 2010-11 had been made by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for giving induction training to all these newly recruited teachers, she added.
Elaborating the scheme, Director General of School Education Mohammed Shayin said that a joint training team had been formed by taking persons from Education Department, Sports Department and the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Haryana.
In all, 30 days training would be imparted in three phases. Tara Devi in Himachal Pradesh has been selected as training venue keeping in view its suitable terrain and climate which are conducive for physical training including trekking, hiking, drill, yoga, rock climbing, etc.
A ten days’ residential training camp had already been organised at Camping Grounds of Bharat Scouts and Guides at Tara Devi from May 9, 2010. The training programme would cover all these PTIs in 12 batches, he added.
The main emphasis in this phase of training would be on giving first hand knowledge of physical activities like trekking, hiking, drill, yoga and rock climbing to the trainees, said Mr Shayin, adding that it would help the newly inducted teachers to assess the quantum and quality of co-curricular and extracurricular activities to be introduced for children in schools which are essential part of the holistic personality development of the students. He said that next phase of the training would focus on preparing the students for sports competitions.
The PTIs would be equipped with the knowledge of the rules and systems of various games and competitions at district, state and national level. They would also be fully trained on how to identify the talent in young children and groom them how to excess facilities of special coaching provision of State Government Sports Department.

Re-poll ordered in 149 polling booths

State Election Commission, Haryana today ordered the repoll for the offices of Panches, Sarpanches, Members Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads in 149 booths of seven districts namely Bhiwani, Faridabad, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Mewat, Palwal and Sonipat in the state on June 10, 2010. The polling would start at 7:30 a.m. and would continue till 4:00 p.m.
While giving this information here late evening today, State Election Commissioner Mr Dharam Vir said that the Commission had also directed the concerned District Election Officers that the counting for elections to Panches and Sarpanches should be held immediately after the close of poll and for Members of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishad on June 14, 2010.

The All India Football Federation Disciplinary Committee which met on June 6 at AIFF Football House, Dwarka, Noida has suspended Haryana coach Keshav Dutt and manager Hansraj for a period of 12 months from all the football activities. It is learnt that these Haryana officials submitted false documents regarding their players during the Sub-Junior National Football Championship organized by the Haryana Football Association in Gurgaon last year.
The committee ruled that these officials were primarily responsible for impersonating players namely Yogesh, Navdeep, Jaipal, Bachhan, Deeraj and Deepal Naval. These Haryana players have also been suspended for a period of 12 month.
The disciplinary committee has also fined the Haryana Football Association, headed by Deepender Hooda, Rs. 20,000 with a written warning that if any such infringement is repeated by any of its teams in the future, the said age group team will be debarred from playing in the said tournament for a period of one year
The AIFF Disciplinary Committee also proposed that all the five Vasco players (Remus Gomes, Jerose Oliveira, Koko Sakibo, Joy Ferrao and Johnson D’Souza) be suspended for three months with effect from the date of the order, with a fine of Rs. 5000 per player. The team manager, Gavin Ariauzo is also suspended for a period of three months and has been imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000. Suspension and fine are the result of the unsportsmanship behavior in the Vasco and HAL match in the Second Division I-League in Bangalore last month.
Since some of the above players may join other clubs, the committee has recommended that the fine imposed on them, if not paid well in time, be recovered before their transfer to any other team is cleared by the AIFF. In case they fail to pay the fine, the suspension may be continued till they pay the fine.

1800 selected under sports talent scheme

Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sharda Rathore today said that as many as 1800 sportspersons had been selected by the State Government under first phase of sports talent hunt programme.
Ms Rathore, who was addressing the sportspersons after distributing medals in the concluding function of 3-day Seventh National Acrobatic Gymnastic Competition at Assandh, said that of the total sportspersons selected by the Government, 1300 were in the age group of 13 to 19 years and 500 in the age group of 9 to 13 years. These sportspersons would be given a monthly scholarship of Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,500 respectively.
As many as 200 sportspersons of 14 States of the country took part in this 3-day Seventh National Acrobatic Gymnastic Competitions.
Ms Rathore said that the State Government was all set to promote games on large scale in the State. The State Government had implemented new sports policy under which a number of incentives were being given to the budding sportspersons. Cash prizes of crores of rupees were given to the sportspersons winning medals in the international level sports meet and the native villages of the medal winners' sportspersons were being given the status of model village. The outstanding sportspersons were also given government jobs. So far nine such sportspersons had been appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police, besides giving them three per cent reservation in the direct recruitment to the posts of class-III and IV. As many as 171 rural sports stadia had already been constructed to promote sports among the rural youths.
Thanks to the new sports policy implemented by the State Government, the sportspersons of Haryana had brought laurels to the State by winning medals at national and international sports events and they would also give a good account of themselves in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games, she added.

CCSHAU issues CET admit cards

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar, has issued admit cards to the candidates for common entrance test (CET) scheduled to be held on June 12 for admission to under-graduate and post-graduate courses.
Registrar Dr. R.S. Dalal said that all the candidates who have applied for admission in B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and M.Sc. in the disciplines of Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics had already been sent the admit cards by post under postal certificate (UPC).
He said that since the admit card was mandatory for gaining entry in the examination centre, the candidates who have not yet received the same, might collect the duplicate admit card in person between June 9 and June 11 from Assistant Registrar (PGS) during office hours from 7.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. after paying fee of Rs. 20.
They should also bring along one recent attested coloured photograph as pasted on admission form, he added.
MUD EXTENDS DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak has extended the last date for submission of application forms for admission to Post-graduate (P.G.) Courses (M.A./M.Sc./M.Com.)/ Diploma Courses up to June 21.
While stating this today, a spokesman of the University said that details of University P.G. Courses were available on University website www.mdurohtak.com. Earlier, the deadline for submission of application forms was June 14.
This extension in last date would also apply to the P.G. courses available at MDU P.G. Regional Centre, Mirpur (Rewari), he added.

International Journal of Pest Management (England).

MDU B Ed and D Bed exams postponed

Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak has postponed the B.Ed. and D.Ed. (Part-I) Annual examinations, earlier scheduled from June 10, owing to the Panchayat elections in the state.
MDU Controller of Examinations (CoE) K.C. Dadhwal said that the D.Ed. (Part-I) examination will now be held from June 17 to July 5. B.Ed. Annual examination will be held from June 18 to July 6. The examination will be held from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30. p.m. for both the courses.
Meanwhile, MDU will organize centralized admission counseling for admissions to Physical Education courses in the Dept. of Physical Education of the varsity as
well as its’ affiliated colleges for the session 2010-2011.
MDU Registrar Dr. S.P. Vats said that the University will issue a separate prospectus for the Physical Education courses shortly.

HARYANA BOARD TO CONDUCT EXAMS FROM JUNE 17
D.Ed first year and second year fail and compartment examinations to be conducted by Haryana Board of School Education, Bhiwani are commencing from June 17, 2010.

MDS seats in PGIMS increased by 30 persons

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that Master of Dental Surgeon (MDS) seats in Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (P.G.I.M.S.), Rohtak had been increased by 30 persons and Naturopathy and Yoga O.P.D. had also been started, besides introducing new courses of Mechanical and Dental Hygiene in its Dental College.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing the Second Anniversary function of the establishment of the University at Rohtak yester evening, said that the Administrative Block of Nursing College is ready. Four teams of Nurses had been given advanced training. Today, the University ranked No.8 among government institutes at national level and at No.4 in North India. He expressed hope that by promoting research work and coordinating with the reputed international institutes, the university would progress very fast and soon would become number one university of the country.
Mr Hooda said that the State Government had increased the Health Budget for providing better health services to the people, particularly to weaker sections of the society. Government had prepared schemes of Rupees 15 hundred crore, under which services like ambulances for villages, health cards for 40 lakh children up to the age of 18 under Indira Child Health Scheme, free medicines to patients, free operations and delivery services to poor people had been started. For enhancing medical education in the state, AIIMS at Badhsa in district Jhajjar was being expanded. A woman medical college at Khanpur kalan, a medical college in Mewat, Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal and E.S.I. Medical College at Faridabad were being set up. In Gurgaon, 100 bedded E.S.I. hospital had started working, which is to be made 200 bedded hospital. For recruitment of the doctors, interviews were being taken every month.
Congratulating the Vice Chancellor, Professors, Doctors and other officials of the University, Mr Hooda said that they were working really hard. The University had got recognition from UGC in February 2010 and as a result, it would be getting financial assistance from Central Government.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. S.S. Sangwan informed that every year 14 lakh patients come to P.G.I.M.S and the Institute was providing 173 medicines free of cost. The University had so far given recognition to 68 Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy institutes and colleges. This was a matter of pride for us that doctors from other countries have started coming here for training and patients are also coming from outside for treatment, he added.
Mr Sangwan said, "The credit for the present position of the P.G.I.M.S. Rohtak and the University of Health Sciences goes to farsightedness, support and cooperation of the Chief Minster Sh. Hooda and MP Sh. Deepender Hooda. Our three doctors have been selected for Commonwealth Fellowship. 18 Faculty members of the Institute have participated at international level conferences and seminars and 187 faculty members at national level."
On this occasion the Chief Minister released the first news bulletin of the University. MP Mr Shadi Lal Batra and MLAs Mr Bharat Bhushan and Mrs Shakuntla Khatak released the Telephone Directory of the University.
An exhibition of different wings of the P.G.I.M.S was also put up on the occasion. The Chief Minister took keen interest in it and appreciated it.

Hotel Management diploma course admission
