Christmas function at Shemrock Bliss School

Shemrock Bliss School, Rathpur Colony, Pinjore celebrated Christmas with a lot of fun and gaiety today.The school looked colourful and very attractive since it was tastefully decorated with buntings, ornaments, stars, bells and other twinkling decorations. A big Christmas tree was decorated beautifully with preet ornaments and bright little lights.

All the children came in their party best to join in the Christmas party where Santa Claus came with his bag full of gifts for the children. A huge bell shaped cake was cut and distributed amongst the children and they were all given a gift each by Santa and also a small pretty looking Christmas Tree as a takeaways. All the children thoroughly enjoyed singing X'Mas carols and dancing with santa and their teachers. The revelry and exitement could be seen everywhere as children danced merrily wearing caps and eye masks prepared by the teachers.
The Director of the School Mrs. Teenu Jolly told the children about the birth of Lord Jesus Christ and told them that "God is One" and that they must respect all religions equally. She asked the children to spread love, peace and brotherhood amongst all. She also conveyed Season's Greetings to the children and staff members.
To conclude all the children observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect for the valiant martyrs and pledged to spread peace and love in the coming year.

IBSA National Sports Meet for Blinds

The 17th IBSA National Sports Meet for the Blind is scheduled to be held in Panchkula and will be inaugurated by the Haryana Government on December 26 at Devi Lal Sports Complex. The four-day Blind Sports Meet is the largest sports event of the visually challenged in India organized once in every two years. Over 550 participants from 14 states across the country have registered for the Meet which will have track and field athletics, powerlifting and chess. The meet is being jointly organized by Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA) and the Blind Relief Association (BRA), Delhi with the Institution for the Blind, Chandigarh and local sports bodies and individuals in Panchkula/Chandigarh/Mohali lending their cooperation.
Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA), a national level sports body with 140 institutions and organizations from 23 states affiliated to it as members, is recognized by Indian Olympic Association and affiliated to International Blind Sports Federation, the apex blind-sports body, and to Paralymic Committee of India.
All the competitions will be conducted in accordance with international norms for blind sports as stipulated by International Blind Sports Federation. To ensure highest level of professionalism and fair conduct of competitions, services of professional and experienced judges and other technical officials from Athletics Federation of India, Powerlifting Federation of India and IBSA, as well as, from Haryana and Chandigarh are being taken.
The meet will witness the budding and some of the finest totally blind and low vision athletes from across the country, several of them with international exposure and medal winners, vying for honours. The Meet will be divided into Intermediate (14 to 17 yr) and Open (not below 14 yr) age sections, with separate competitions for male and female athletes under the three sight classifications, namely, B-1 (totally blind), B-2 and B-3 (low vision/partially blind) athletes. The track events include 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 5000m running and relay races. Field events will have long jump, shot put, javelin and discus throws. The two indoor events are powerlifting and chess. While athletics and chess events will take place from 26 to 29 December in the Tau Devilal Sports Complex, Sector-3, Panchkula, the powerlifting competition will be held in the Weightlifting Coaching Centre, Sector-42 in Chandigarh.
The Panchkula Meet is especially significant, as performance in it will form the basis for shortlisting the athletes to be considered to take part in the 4th World Championships and Games for the Blind to be held in Antalya, Turkey in April 2011 and in IBSA World Youth and Students Games to be held in Colorado Springs, USA in July 2011.
Elaborate arrangements for boarding, lodging and transportation of the participants coming from different corners of the country are being made by the organizers to ensure comfortable stay in Panchkula. Apart from the available stay facilities like sports hostel, badminton stadium and the cricket stadium available in Tau Devilal Sports Complex, the organizers have booked other nearby facilities like Sood Bhawan in Sector-10, and hotels to accommodate the large number of participants and officials coming from outside. In the evening there will be cultural programmes for entertainment. Several individuals and organizations are helping the organizers in making the event a great success.

Kurukshetra Varsity to conduct PCP for BA students

 The Directorate of Distance Education Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra will conduct Personal Contact Programme (PCP) for students of B.A. Part-I, II and III from December 25 to 31/
   While stating this here today, a spokesman of the university said that PCP for students belonging to district Ambala would be conducted at S.D. College, Ambala Cantt. He said that classes for students belonging to Ambala Cantt., Chandigarh, 56 APO, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir would be organized at G.M.N. College, Ambala Cantt.  
    He said that PCP for students belonging to Ambala City and of district Panchkula would be conducted at D.A.V. College, Ambala City, for students of Punjab state the classes would be conducted at S.A. Jain College, Ambala City. He said that classes for students of district Fatehabad would be conducted at M.M. College, Fatehabad. Classes for students of district Hisar would be conducted at Dayanand College, Hisar, classes for students of Hisar and district Bhiwani would be conducted at CRM Jat College Hisar.  PCP for district students of Jind, district Kaithal and for students belonging to district Karnal would be conducted at C.R. Kisan college Jind, R.K.S.D. college Kaithal and DAV (PG) College Karnal and Dayal Singh College, Karnal, respectively.
   He said that classes would be organized at B.P.R. College, Krurkshetra for students of district Kurukshetra and of such cities or states who have not been covered in the specified colleges. Under the programme, classes would be conducted at C.M.K. National Girls College, Sirsa for students belonging to district Sirsa and Rajasthan state. Similarly, classes for students of district Panipat would be organized at I.B. College, Panipat, and those of Panipat, Sonipat, Delhi, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Modi Nagar, Rewari, Faridabad, Palwal, Rohtak, Saharanpur, Jhajjar, Mahendergarh and Mewat would be organized at S.D. College, Panipat. PCP for students belonging to district Yamunanagar would be conducted at G.N. Khalsa College, Yamunanagar and M.L.N. College, Yamunanagar.

GJUST invites applications for DE programme

Directorate of Distance Education, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar has invited applications for various distance education programmes for the session 2010-11.

While stating this today, a spokesman of the University said that the courses for which applications have been invited included Lateral Entry to MBA, 5-year Integrated Course of MCA, Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration-Lateral Entry, Master of Commerce, PG Diploma in Taxation, PG Diploma in Industrial Safety Management, BA in Mass Communication, MA in Mass Communication, Lateral Entry to MA in Mass Communication, PG Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations, PG Diploma in Environmental Management, PG Diploma in Bakery Science and Technology and PG Diploma in Counseling and Behaviour Modification.
He said that next entrance test for 5-year Integrated MCA Course would be held at the study centres offering these programmes on January 2, 2011. The candidates were advised to register for the test with the Directorate or their nearest University approved study centres.
The students could submit their admission form either directly to the Directorate of Distance Education or through the study centres by December 31, 2010.

Taxation Inspectors exams postponed

 Haryana Central Committee of Examination has cancelled the exam for Taxation Inspectors in the Excise and Taxation Department held on December 14 at Chandigarh due to leakage of the question paper.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that now the exam would be held on December 24, 2010 and FIR is being lodged

Easy wins for Manipur and RML Faizabad

Manipur University outplayed RML University, Faizabad by 4-1 in the inaugural match of the North-East Zone Inter-University Women’s Hockey Tournament at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) ground here today. In another match, Ranchi University thrashed Pt. RS Shukla University, Raipur by 14-0.
Earlier, MDU Vice Chancellor Dr. R.P. Hooda inaugurated the hockey tourney. Speaking on the occasion, he said players must take part in the tourney with sportsman's spirit. He said that University administration will give top priority for development of advanced sports infrastructure in the varsity.
Former Indian women hockey team captain and alumnus of M.D.U. Mamta Kharab was felicitated in the inaugural ceremony by MDU Vice Chancellor Dr. R.P.Hooda and First Lady of the varsity Smt. Ved Wati Hooda.

DHBVN Inter-Circle Games in Hisar

The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) will organize its 3rd Annual Inter Circle Sports Meet from December 17 to 19 at Vidyut Nagar Sports Complex in Hisar.
A spokesman of DHBVN said that over 400 players from all the seven circles namely Sirsa, Hisar, Bhiwani, Narnaul, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Head Office Hisar will take part in ten events of the sports meet including hockey, football, wrestling, tug of war, kabaddi, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, basketball and athletics. A few players of international and national level, employed in DHBVN, will also compete in different events representing various circles.
He said that DHBVN Family Games will also be organized, simultaneously on December 19 at Vidyut Nagar Sports Complex in which members of about 1200 families, including 1100 families from Vidyut Nagar, of DHBVN’s employees are likely to participate in over a dozen events. Entertaining sports events for children, women and youth will be organized in the family games.

Kurukshetra Varsity to conduct manual counseling

 Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra will conduct Manual Counseling at University Auditorium from December 3 to 7 for those candidates who have applied for B.Ed. regular course for the session 2010-11 from November 25 to 29.

While stating this today, a spokesman of the University said that counseling would be conducted in the morning and evening sessions. Counseling for the candidates who have paid Rs 10,000 as token admission fee before November 30,2010 and science candidates of all categories of Haryana State and All Science Candidates (AIC) would be conducted in the morning session and for Arts candidates of all categories of Haryana State (67 per cent and above) in the evening session on December 3. Arts candidates of all categories of Haryana State (below 67 per cent) and Arts candidates of all India category (69 per cent and above) would be counseled in the morning and evening sessions respectively on December 4.
He said that on December 5, counseling for Arts candidates of all India category (63-68.99 per cent) would be conducted in the morning session and for Arts candidates of all India category (60-62.99 per cent) in the evening session. On December 6, Arts candidates of all India category (56-59.99 per cent) would be counseled in the morning session and for Arts candidates of all India category (50-55.99 per cent) in the evening session.
Counseling for all those eligible candidates with 55 per cent and above marks who were called for manual counseling from November 25 to 30, but could not attend the same would be conducted in the morning session and for candidates with 55-54.99 per cent in the evening session on December 7.
The spokesman said that fresh online applications had also been invited from December 1 to 7 to fill up seats that remain vacant after the counseling. Final manual counseling for the candidates who are likely to apply from December 1 to 7 would be held from December 11 to 15.
