HAU issues admit cards for CET

CHANDIGARH, MAY 31
Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar has issued admit cards to the candidates for common entrance test (CET) scheduled to be held on June 11 for admission to under graduate and post-graduate courses during academic year 2011-12.
          The Registrar, Dr. S.S. Dahiya told here today that all the candidates who have applied for admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and M.Sc. in the disciplines of Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics had been sent admit cards by post under postal certificate (UPC).
                    He said that since the admit card was mandatory for entry in the examination centre, the candidates who do not receive the same by June 7 may collect the duplicate admit card in person between June 8 and June 10 from Academic Branch, Fletcher Bhawan for UG and Assistant Registrar(PGS) for PG courses during office hours (7 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.) after paying fee of Rs. 20. They should also bring one recent attested coloured photograph as pasted on the admission form, he said, adding that the candidates could complete any deficiency left while submitting the application form on this occasion.

Handling emergency situation taught in Sukriti workshop

‘How to brave the emergency situations with guts and alertness’ was taught at Civil Defence  during Sukriti camp organised by DAV Senior Public School, Surajpur.
 With the awestruck and bewildered eyes the students and the staff stood gaping, getting a live display of the agility and alertness of the soldiers who were demonstrating to the staff and students the techniques to handle emergency situations during civil wars, when building catches fire.
Their feet climbing and dismounting the  walls with such dexterity with the help of ropes, providing immediate relief to the injured rushing them to the hospital, etc. were sometime that was highly commendable and impressive.
 Constable Sunil Kumar and Partap Singh from Combined Training Institute, Panchkula explained to the students the ways to handle emergency situations. Superintendent Partap Narayan Singh also threw light on the preventive measures to be taken during gas leakage, road mishaps, natural calamities like earth quakes, floods etc.. On the whole, the workshop for Civil Defence was something that left an indelible mark on the minds because of its utility.

Army to organise open recruitment rally

 Army Recruiting Office, Ambala Cantonment will organise an open recruitment rally for enrolment as a Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk, Store Keeper, Soldier Technical, Soldier Nursing Assistant and Havildar Education at Tejli Sports Stadium, Yamunanagar from June 22 to July 3, 2011.
          While stating this today, a spokesman of Army Recruiting Office said that recruiting rally for the post of Havildar Education for the youth of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh would be organised on June 22. Soldiers General Duty would be recruited from June 23 to June 27. The youth of district Yamunanagar and Panchkula (except Sikh and Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia) could take part in the rally on June 23 and those of Ambala and Chandigarh (except Sikh and Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia) on June 24, whereas recruiting rally for the youth of district Kaithal (except Sikh and Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia) would be organised on June 25 and for those of Kurukshetra and Karnal (except Sikh and Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia) on June 26.
          The Sikh and Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia of district Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Panchkula and Chandigarh would be covered on June 27, he added.
          He said that the youth of all castes hailing from district Yamunanagar, Karnal and Kaithal would be recruited to the post of Soldier Clerk or Store Keeper on June 28 and those of Ambala, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh and Panchkula on June 29. The recruitment to the post of Soldier Technical and Soldier Nursing Assistant for the youth of Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Panchkula and Chandigarh would be held on June 30.
          The aspirants would have to undergo several stages of selection process conducted by different board of officers headed by an officer of the rank of Colonel. After passing through document check, physical fitness test and physical measurement test, the candidates would have to undergo medical examination which would be conducted at the rally ground itself. A written test for those candidates who clear medical examination would be held on August 28 (for Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk or Store Keeper) and on October 30 (for Soldier Technical and Soldier Nursing Assistant) at Army Public School, Ambala Cantt., he added.

Summer School at Kurukshetra from May 30

Society for Promotion of Science and Technology in India will launch of a unique four-week initiative ---  Prerana Summer School in Science and Mathematics for girls  from May 30 to June 25   at Gita Niketan Avasiya Vidyalaya in Kurukshetra.
According to Society president and former Haryana Chief Secretary Dharam Vir the participants would be 45 girl students of +2 classes belonging to poor families, who have done well in high school and have shown enormous drive and motivation to do well in academics and move ahead in their lives. 
The main focus of the programme would be to improve the conceptual framework of the students in sciences and mathematics so that they can do well in Board level examinations in 2012 and get admission in good colleges.
 After the school is over, there would be follow up interactive sessions on a regular interval so that the students do not fall behind.
The Summer School will be inaugurated by Mrs. Surina Rajan, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary, School Education at 11.00 a.m on May 30. Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner C.G. Rajinikaanthan will be the guest of honour.

Haryana to conduct departmental examinations from July 1

The departmental examinations of various departments of Haryana will be conducted at Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Chandigarh from July 1 to 8,  in the morning and evening sessions.
            While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Administrative Reforms Department said that Criminal Law, first Paper for Assistant Commissioners (ACs), Extra Assistant Commissioners (EACs) and the candidates for the post of EACs and Tehsildar, Forest Law Paper for Forest Department, Accounts Paper for Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department and Fisheries Department, Group-1 Paper-A for Block Development and Panchayat Officers and Account and Departmental Rules Paper for Wild Life Preservation Department would be conducted in the morning session on July 1. On July 7, Subject-III (Allied Taxes) Paper would be held in the morning session and Subject-IV (Sales Tax Law) Paper in the evening session.
            On July 8, Subject-V (Book Keeping) Paper would be conducted in the morning session and Subject-VI (Computer Operation) Paper in the evening session, he added.

ICU facility in Gurgaon General Hospital

The general hospital in Gurgaon  now has the facility of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), which is the first of its kind in any government hospital in Haryana. This is in addition to many other  modern facilities added to this hospital for treatment of patients
While stating this today,a spokesman of Health Department said that  with the setting up of the ICU, a long standing demand of the people of the  cyber city  has been fulfilled. He said that ICU has started functioning on the first floor of the hospital and it has facility of artificial respirator, ventilator, cardiac monitor  to treat serious patients. As of now  six beds have been placed in the ICU and three patients are under treatment. Out of these, one patient was bitten by Black Cobra snake and he remained unconscious for five days. His life was saved in this unit due to ventilator.
He said that those suffering from ailments   and other fatal diseases would get better treatment in the ICU where doctors and specialists would be available round- the- clock. Dr Garg said that for this purpose, four doctors, four staff nurses and three specialists have been deputed at the ICU. He said that apart from the ICU, many   modern health care facilities have been introduced in the general hospital  as a result of which the patients would not have to spend huge funds for treatment in private hospitals  as in general hospital, these facilities would be made available to the patients free of cost.
        He said that now the facility of NICU for the new borns have also been started in Gurgaon general hospital. The children born premature would be kept in the Incubator which being a costly facility, the poor patients were not able to afford this in private hospitals. At General Hospital, it would be made available free of cost.
         He said that a lift has also been installed in the General Hospital and it would be run on trial within a couple of days. He said that now the general hospital is also equipped with FECO surgery of the eye and Computer Arm for orthopedics patients. The orthopedic surgeon would now be able to treat the fractured arm or leg only by seeing it on computer screen and no X-Ray was required. Similarly, the requirement of X-Ray film for tooth was also dispensed with because the Dental ward was equipped with facility of Digital X-Ray. The Dental Surgeon could now see the image on the screen of computer by just placing the equipment near the tooth and it could be saved there. He said that a new machine for the surgery of retina of the eye has been sanctioned which would be installed in a few days. The Gurgaon general hospital is the only government hospital at district level to have MRI facility and six to eight MRIs were being done daily. He said that EMG facility for treatment of nerves has also been stated. Not only this, about 350 chairs and five water coolers have been provided for the patients coming to the general hospital, he added.

Applications invited for Bhim Awards

The Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department has invited applications for Bhim Awards for the year 2011-12. It is  the highest state sports award.  Six outstanding sportspersons, including one physically handicapped sportsperson, who have achieved first, second and third positions in the recognized international and senior national tournaments or championships during the last three years are honoured with Bhim Awards as per Sports Policy of the State Government. 
    While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Sports Department said that under Bhim Awards, a cash prize of Rs two lakh, a replica of Bhim, a scroll, a blazer and tie or scarf was given.  He said that sportspersons must have represented Haryana  in the national tournaments or championships and have represented the State prior to their selection in the national team for participation in recognized international tournaments or championships.
            The spokesman said that applications had also been invited for cash awards for the year 2011-12. Cash awards would be given on the basis of each medal separately got in the national or international tournaments or championships during the previous financial year. The sportspersons should be Haryana of domicile and a certificate to this effect must be attached with the application. Sportspersons claiming international achievement must have represented Haryana State in the national championship prior to international championships. Representation in national championship from Haryana State was required for cash award.
            Applications for Bhim Awards and cash awards would be received through District Sports and Youth Officer concerned duly verified by the Secretary of concerned game and Coach. Applications should reach the Directorate, Sports and Youth Affairs by July 31,  he added.

Medical college in Rewari under PPP scheme

The Haryana Government has decided to set up a medical college under public private partnership mode at village Majra Sheoraj in district Rewari.
          This was disclosed by Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav while addressing the people after inaugurating a Chaupal belonging to the Scheduled Castes and laying foundation stone of a project to lay pucca streets at village Paidyawas in district Rewari today.
He said that approval for setting up of medical college over an area of 27 acres had already been accorded and people of the area would get free OPD facility in this medical college.
The Minister said that two-day health camp would be organized at local civil hospital on May 27 and 28 to mark the death anniversary Rao Abhay Singh and Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. The camp would be inaugurated by Haryana Governor Mr. Jagannath Pahadia. He said that specialists from Ganga Ram Hospital, Medicity, cancer hospital, Mirpur and Venu Eye hospital would examine patients in the camp and free medicines would also be provided to them. He urged the people to avail benefit of the health camp.
Capt. Yadav said that Congress Party has worked for the welfare of all sections of the society. Whenever Congress comes into power, welfare works of each section had been done. Development approach of Congress government has ensured the progress and growth of rural areas.
He said that Haryana is emerging as an education hub in the country. The work of second phase of regional centre has been started and a quality school would be set up in the centre. The centre would emerge as a university in the times to come.

DPS Pinjore celebrate Mothers Day

The loving moms of the day scholars of classes Pre Nur to 5 were cordially invited to the Mother’s Day
celebration today in the school premises. The mothers who responded to the invitation reached the beautiful pristine campus of the school around 10 a.m.
The ceremony began with the formal welcome extended on behalf of the management and the Principal Mr. Samson Masih by the coordinator Dr. (Ms) Kiran Prabhakar. This was followed by mimicry show presented by the award winning team of the school comprising Jasneel Grover and Hardique Dasore. The mothers had more entertainment in store which was put up in the form of Hasya Kavita both by the young poets of classes 3 to 5.
Dr. Deepa from Simply Health Plus gave four PowerPoint presentations on the topics first aid, How to stay healthy and beautiful, How to say your child no to junk food, and how pack a healthy and hassle free tiffin for your child. The mothers showed keen interest in all the presentations.
After this, a break with some sumptuous snacks was welcomed by the mothers who were all ready to play tambola and participate in the musical chairs after this. Some mothers with artistic flair participated in the poster making and slogan writing competition which was adjudged and attractive prizes were given to the winners.
The celebrations proved to be very fruitful and successful as all the mothers have given a feed back that they want many more such sessions to be held during the year.

DPS Pinjore girl wins International Informatics Olympiad

Drishti Tulsi of class IX has done the country , the state, the school and above all herself proud by getting the first rank in International Informatics Olympiad 2010-11 organised by Silver Zone. The International Informatics Olympiad, a test of competence and proficiency in computer science, is held annually at the national and international levels based on syllabus prescribed by CBSE/ICSE and the State
Boards in August/October.
Apart from syllabus, a part of test is based on mental ability and reasoning. The first rank has won Drishti a laptop, so that she could chistle her technical skills more to prepare herself for future achievements. ITI to be set up in Rohtak

 The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) to be set up at Sector 5, Rohtak would be one of the best ITIs in Asia.
This was stated by Financial Commissioner, Industrial Training Department, Haryana Mr. S.S Prasad while interacting with officers after launching the website www.itirohtak.com of the ITI, Rohtak today.The website has been developed  by Maruti Suzuki Limited, Gurgaon.
 He said that the  ITI would  be constructed over an area of 15 acres and would be developed as model ITI in which students of the state would get technical education. The ITI would have a Teacher Training Center, a separate training center for men and women and art and craft training center.
He said that Maruti Suzuki has adopted the students of the ITI which was already functional at Rohtak for training. Maruti Suzuki has also cooperated in the development of ITI’s of Gurgaon and Jhajjar.
 He said that the object of the launching of website was to provide the information of all ITIs in the district. In this website, all details regarding trades, seats, employees, departments, syllabus of all trades, machines available for training, workshops and classes was provided. At present, about 1300 students were being imparted training in 25 trades at ITI, Rohtak, he added.
