UP chosen as Theme State of Surajkund Mela 2018

 CHANDIGARH, JAN 30
The 32nd Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2018 to be held at Surajkund in district  Faridabad from February 2 to 18 would be a child friendly mela to ensure safety and security of children  and there would be zero tolerance towards child rights violation.
        While stating this Haryana Tourism Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that during this year, Uttar Pradesh has been chosen as  the Theme State. At least 20 countries and all the states of India would participate in this Mela. 
He said that various child friendly procedures would be adopted which included establishing child friendly space, creche for children of officials and workers, breastfeeding booth, first aid booth, lost and found centre and stall for children with special needs.
          He said that besides advocating the rights of children through hoardings,IEC material on child rights would also be provided. There would be prohibition on selling harmful substances and inclusive environment would be provided for children.
The Minister said that child tracking system through RFID tagging would be implemented in the Mela under which families visiting the Mela having children below 14 years of age would have to visit special desk set up by the police and assisted by local District Child Protection Unit. On registration, each child would be provided with a RFID tag, containing the child’s name and guardians name, contact number and other relevant details. 
If a lost child is found wandering in the crowd, a volunteer or police officer can simply take the child to the control room and use an RFID reader to read the child’s tag. The whereabouts of the child will automatically be sent to the registered mobile number and the child’s guardian.
These measures were suggested by the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Women and Child Development Department to the Haryana Tourism Department for this year’s Mela, which have been approved.
The Mela is being organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority in collaboration with the Union Ministries of Tourism, Textile, Culture and External Affairs, Haryana Tourism Department and Haryana Tourism Corporation.
During last year’s mela, the footfall was more than 1.2 million, including the foreign visitors, he added.

Israeli's offer to Haryana in sustainable use of recycled water for agriculture

Chandigarh January 24
: Israel has offered support and cooperation to Haryana in the field of sustainable use of recycled water for agriculture and cyber security.
          The offer was made by Mr. Dan Alluf, Counselor, International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), Science and Agriculture, Embassy of Israel in a meeting with working group of officers of the State Government constituted under Indo-Israel projects held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr D.S Dhesi here today.
                     Mr. Dan Alluf apprised Mr Dhesi that Israel is already sharing its technology expertise with Haryana in the fields of vegetable, fruits, flowers and dairy and setting up centre of excellence. He said that Indo-Israel project was commenced in India with the setting up of Centre of Excellence in Vegetable in Gharaunda, Karnal. At present, Centre of Excellence are being set up in 16 states of the country, he added. 
           Mr Dhesi directed Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Dr Abhilaksh Likhi and Member Secretary of Group of Officers  and Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Mr Vinay Pratap Singh to get comprehensive details of agreement made by the Central Government for improving cooperation between both the countries and  expedite the projects being implemented in Haryana. 
           It was informed in the meeting that during Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi’s visits to Israel in September 2017, a three-year comprehensive programme was prepared for furthering the Indo-Israel projects. Now, during the visit of Prime Minister, Israel Dr Benjamin Netanyahu to India recently, agreements worth Rs 14 million dollars of Indo-Israel were signed for increasing cooperation between both countries in the fields of Start up, Research and Development, crop residue management and water management. 
           Director General, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department Dr G.S Jakhar apprised that a Centre of Excellence for Dairy and Milk products is being set up with the cooperation of Israel at Government Livestock Farm in Hisar under the Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. 
           Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Mr Anand Mohan Sharan informed that Faridabad, Karnal and Gurugram are included in the smart city projects. He said that cooperation would be sought from Israel in developing smart parks in these cities, construction of smart roads and in solid waste management projects. 
           Among those present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary, Home Mr S.S Prasad, Principal Secretary, Industrial Training and Skill Development Department, Mr T.C Gupta, Principal Secretary, Irrigation Mr Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Mrs Jyoti Arora and Principal Secretary, Public Health and Engineering Mr Rajiv Arora.

Haryana Sanskrit Akademi's to honour Sanskrit scholars

Haryana Sanskrit Akademi has announced awards to honour eminent Sanskrit scholars and litterateur of the state for the year 2014, 2015 and 2016.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Akademi said that Haryana Sanskrit Gaurav Samman which carries prize money of Rs two lakh each for year 2014,  2015  and 2016 would be conferred upon renowned Sanskrit scholars from Panchkula, Dr Mathura Dutt Pandey, Pt. Shivnarian Shastri of Bhiwani and Acharya Mahavir Prasad Sharma of Karnal respectively. 
          He said that Maharishi Valmiki Samman would be conferred upon Prof.  Shrikrishan Sharma for year 2014, Prof. Kamla Bhardwaj for year 2015 and Prof. Bhim Singh for year 2016. Each award carries a cash prize of Rs1.5 lakh.
          Similarly, Prof. Rajeshwar Prasad Mishr, Dr Satyapal Sharma, and Mr Satyanarian Sharma would be awarded with Maharishi Vedvyas Samman for year 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Each award carries a cash prize of Rs1.5 lakh. 
Mahakavi Baanbhatt Samman of Rs one lakh each, for 2014 would be given to Dr  Mithilesh Sharma Shastri, for year 2015 to Dr Hariprakash Sharma and for 2016 to Mr Tularam Shastri Sharma.
Vidhyamartand Pandit Sitaram Shastri Acharya Samman, carries Rs one lakh each, for year 2014 and 2015 would be conferred upon Mrs Suman Sharma, Principal of Haryana Shekhawati Brhamcharyaashram, Bhiwani and Mrs Pramod Sharma Principal of Swami Shankar Chaitnanya Bharti Sanskrit College, Srikrishan Dham, Kurukshetra respectively. 
          The Akademi would present Guru Virjanand Acharya Samman of Rs one lakh each for year 2015 to Mr Om Prakash Kaushik of Mr Lajjaram Sanskrit College, Jind, whereas similar award for year 2016 would be given to Acharya Vidhyavati, Sri Ranjit Smarak, Shanti Niketan Kanya Gurukul, Lovakalan, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar. 
          While Pandit Yudhistir Mimansak Sanskrit Samaradhak Samman for year 2015 would be given to Acharya Rajwanti, Sri Ranjit Smarak, Shanti Niketan Kanya Gurukul, Lovakalan, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, the same for year 2016 would be conferred upon Acharya Vedvrat Shashtri, Shruit Vigyan Acharyakulam Gram Chapra, Shahbad, Kurukshetra. These samman carries prize money of Rs one lakh each. 
          Swami Dharamdev Sanskrit Samaradhak Samman for year 2014 would be given to Sri Ranjit Smarak, Shanti Niketan Kanya Gurukul, Lovakalan, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, whereas the same for year 2015 and 2016 would be bestowed to Sri Lajjaram Sanskrit College, Jind and Shruit Vigyan Acharyakulam Gram Chapra, Shahbad, Kurukshetra respectively. The award carries prize money of Rs one lakh each.
The Akademi has also announced the name of winners under the Pustak Puraskar Yojna. Under Gadhya Vidha category, the award for year 2014 would be given to Dr. Balwant Singh for Swami Dayanand Charitam book and for year 2015 to Dr Satyapal Sharma for Virangna Dwadashkam. Under Padhya Vidha category, Haryandarshanam authored by Mr Suraj Kumar, Indraveshoshnishad of Dr Dharamvir Kundu and Gurugorviyam authored by Dr Hari Singh have been selected for year 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Similarly, under Natak Vidha category, Kumaryamba authored by Dr Mithlesh Sharma have been selected for award for year 2016. Each award carries a prize money of Rs31,000 each. 
Under Pustak Prakashan Sahayta Anudaan, two books titled Atmsampada and Sanskrit Gadyaratanmala authored by Dr Jitender Kumar has been selected for award.

Move to do away with the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza

CHANDIGARH, JAN 22
The Haryana Government is making efforts to do away with the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza. This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while interacting with media persons in Gurugram, today.
           In reply to a question, he said the state government was in discussion with the concessionaire, and, if an agreement was reached, this toll plaza would be stopped. Land has also been identified to shift this plaza to village Sehrawan.
          The Sehrawan panchayat has already passed a resolution to transfer land which has been sent for approval to the Director of Development and Panchayats Department. In both situations, this toll plaza would be removed from Kherki, the Chief Minister said.
           Those present included the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Mr Mansukh L. Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Planning, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Rao Inderjit Singh, and Public Works Minister (Building and Roads), Rao Narbir Singh.
CONSTRUCTING 43 ROADS LINKING RAJASTHAN: The Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, has said that construction work on 43 roads connecting Rajasthan would begin in the new financial year to cope with increased traffic and ease people’s woes.
          Making this announcement after laying the foundation stone of six projects worth Rs 263 crore in Rewari District today, he said PWD works worth about Rs 1,400 crore were in progress in Rewari out of  which works worth Rs 322 crore had already been completed, works worth Rs. 717 crore were in progress, and the remaining were in the pipeline.
          The Minister today laid the foundation stone of six projects in Rewari district. These are bypass from Jhajjar Road to Narnaul Road at the cost of Rs 176.23 crore, construction of four-lane road from Dharuheda Chungi Chowk to Delhi Road NH-352 at the cost of Rs 2,176 lakh, construction of the underground pass of Rewari double gate at a cost of Rs. 655 lakh, construction of new road from village Mukundpur bypass to Salahwas at the cost of Rs 257.85 lakh, construction of road from Mukundpur Basai to village Jadthal at the cost of Rs 226.22 lakh, and road linking village Balawas Ahir (Budhpur road) with Khadgwas at the cost of Rs 24 lakh.
          Rao Narbir Singh said three overbridges would be constructed on this bypass which would ease traffic problems in the city. The construction work on this bypass has been lying pending for a long time, but the BJP Government has begun the construction work by removing all obstacles, he added.

Haryana to implement SC order on Padmavat

CHANDIGARH, JAN 22
The Haryana Government would implement the orders of the Supreme Court on film Padmavat. “Good if some theatre owners do not want to screen the film, but those who want to screen it would be provided with full security,” Mr Manohar Lal,Chief Minister assured.
          He was interacting with media persons after inaugurating two underpasses constructed on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Gurugram, today.
          In reply to a question on ensuring women’s security, the Chief Minister reiterated that the police system had been reformed in the state. In the next Vidhan Sabha session a Bill providing for harsher punishment to rapists would be passed. Provision would be made to give capital punishment to the rapists of girls under 12 years of age, he added.
          On the issue of considering the post of Parliamentary Secretary/ Chief Parliamentary Secretaries in Delhi as an office of profit, the Chief Minister said that situation in the state was different from Delhi. “There was no such Law in Delhi .We already have a law in place, but Court said this is not correct so we have removed them,he added.

Recruitment of police personnel in Haryana purely on marit

CHANDIGARH, JAN 22
Recruitment for the post of 4,500 male and 1,000 female police personnel and more than 350 sub-inspectors will begin in February. They will be recruited purely on merit basis and there will be no interview. Also, counsellors would be appointed in 18 schools run by the Police Department to generate awareness about crime against children.

          Disclosing this in Rewari today, the Haryana Director General of Police, Mr BS Sandhu, said a big campaign named ‘Durga Shakti’ would be launched to stop crime against women in the state. Under the campaign, five woman SPOs each would be recruited for every village and ward. Keeping a vigil on crimes against women, they will directly report to the district head of police.
   Preventing crime against women is a priority with the Haryana Police and many schemes have been implemented in this regard, he added.
          Mr Sandhu said such crimes could be prevented by spreading awareness. The Police Department is taking strict action to prevent such crimes. The Police would send such cases to fast-track courts and ensure that the culprits are awarded punishment at the earliest. At a higher level, Operation Durga is working to stop such crimes and much more will be done under this campaign, he added.
          Speaking on the increasing crimes in schools, the DGP blamed it on obscenity and the use of internet by children for seeking obscene information. Besides, children are also under the heavy pressure of education.
       Recently, many cases of gang rape and murder were reported in the state and culprits were arrested immediately. A high tech Control Room is being set up in Panchkula which would be linked with all districts. All complaints received on No. 100 would be first received at Panchkula, and later transferred to the respective district, so that the police could immediately reach the spot. For this 25 new PCRs would be purchased, he added.

No one will be allowed to disrupt peace: Haryana DGP

 Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that no one will be allowed to disrupt peace in the state during the screening of Hindi movie Padmavat. Apart from that, a proposal has been sent to State Government to increase punishment in cases where victim is a minor less than 12 years old.
         He was speaking after inaugurating building of special task force (STF) in Gurugram today. 
          The DGP said that special instructions have been issued to district police chiefs to take strict measures regarding rising crime against women. He also said that efforts were being made to improve police presence on the roads. Apart from that, a proposal has been sent to State Government to increase punishment in cases where victim is a minor less than 12 years old.
          He said “the newly constituted STF will check organized crime and it will focus on gangsters, drug and liquor mafia. The STF will also focus on preventing crimes and developing a strong intelligence network". STF was constituted by the Government to tackle organized crime, terrorism and drug related activities as well as to check rise in criminal activities of notorious gangsters, who have spread their tentacles not only in the states but across Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas.
          The STF will be headed by IGP Mr. Saurabh Singh and operate under the supervision of SSP Mr. Sathish Balan. It will have its main office at Bhondsi and additional office at Traffic Tower in Gurugram. The smaller units will be posted in other ranges. The STF has been constituted on the directions of the Chief Minister, who took special interest in constitution of this force in the wake of rising criminal activities in the State.
          The STF will have 75 officials in starting headed by an IGP, followed by SSP and have adequate number of DSPs, inspectors and other crack members, who will be equipped with quality weapons, vehicles and also equipment related to cyber crime.
          The STF is presently equipped with Glock pistols and Ak-47 rifles and the force will soon acquire bulletproof vests, vehicles and other resources required for effective operations.
          With the setting up of the STF, police organizations from Delhi, Tamilnadu and several other states have already started liasioning with it and sharing information, which could be crucial for curbing crime. The focus will be gangsters, hardened criminals, inter-state gunrunners and drug suppliers.
The STF will have prescribed standard operating procedure (SOP) and every action taken by it will be documented. The officials and operating members of the STF have been selected on the basis of their service records and competence.
The STF, Gurugram had a major success recently, when it arrested four shooters of Manjeet Mahal gang, who were on their way to Jhajjar for eliminating a rival member of Jyoti-Nandu Sangwan gang. Four pistols were recovered from the accused and they were handed over to Jhajjar police.
          On this occasion, Mr BK Sinha DGP, Mr PK Agrawal ADGP, Mr. Anil Kumar Rao IGP CID, Sh Sandeep Khirwar CP Gurugram, Mr. Amitabh Singh Dhilon CP Faridabad, Mr. CS Rao, IGP South Range, Mr. KK Rao, IGP, Mr.Yoginder Nehra,IGP  and other senior officers were also present.

Haryana gets three awards from Computer Society of India

 CHANDIGARH, JAN 21
Haryana has been awarded with three awards by the Computer Society of India  at the latter’s 52nd Annual Convention held at Kolkata on January 20, 2018.
        Mr Deepak Bansal, State Informatics Officer, National Informatics Centre Haryana received the awards from Deputy Speaker of Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Rao Rajendra Singh.
          The awards were presented for three projects included the Award of Appreciation for Employee Loan Management System of Haryana, award of Appreciation for Online Drug Inventory and Supply Chain Management System (ODISCM) and award of Recognition for e-Transport Mission Mode Project Implementation.
          Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Technical Director, Mr. Rahul Jain , Technical Director, Mr. Virender Trivedi, Technical Director, Mr. Jagdeesh Mehendiratta, Scientist-D and Mr Deepak Sawant, PSA were also felicitated for their contribution to these three project.

Online transfer on the pattern of Education Department

CHANDIGARH, JAN 20
Haryana would implement online transfer policy on the pattern of the Education Department in all departments of the state government.
          Disclosing this while addressing a public meeting in Jind today, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, said in the first phase, online transfer policy would be launched in about 16 departments by April 1.
         He said advertisements for 50,000 vacant posts lying in government departments have been released and exams for 35,000 posts have been conducted, and soon the Haryana Staff Selection Commission would announce the results. The state government has so far carried out recruitment to fill 13,000 posts, he added.
          In order to recruit capable candidates on government posts, interviews for Group C and D posts have been stopped. The main aim of making recruitment on merit basis is to end corruption and provide good governance to people. If a capable candidate is recruited, the aim of such recruitment would be fulfilled. This would also help in providing benefit of government schemes and services to people easily, the Chief Minister added.
           Mr Manohar Lal said the BJP Government had been working for the welfare of all sections of the society without any bias. The government is also making equitable development of all regions so that no region or section of the society remains backward.
       The maximum number of development projects announced by him had been completed. In district Jind, many development projects worth about Rs 200 crore have been completed and work on those projects foundation stone of which has been laid lately, would begin soon.
          Taking a dig at the opposition parties, he said the previous governments had left many big development projects incomplete but the BJP Government had not only worked to complete these projects, but had also initiated many new development projects.
          The construction work on Jind bypass was pending for the last 20 years, which would be completed in six months at a cost of Rs 52 crore. Besides, many other development works would be carried out in district Jind.
        The Chief Minister urged party workers to generate awareness among the people about all development works being carried out in the district so that opposition parties could not mislead the people.

Haryana to procure maize, bajra and sunflower on MSP

CHANDIGARH, JAN 20
 Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that Maize will also be procured  on Minimum Support Price in Haryana after the government’s decision to  restart  the procurement  of bajra and sunflower seeds on Minimum Support Price (MSP) which was discontinued by the previous government. The Bajra and Maize so purchased would be utilized under Public Distribution System (PDS).
          Mr Manohar Lal was addressing a well attended gathering after laying the foundation stone of new cooperative sugar mill in Karnal today.
          He said that with the setting up of new cooperative sugar mill, 60 lakh quintal of sugarcane would be crushed during the crushing season besides generating 15 MW of electricity. Out of the total electricity produced by this mill, 10.50 MW would be sold to the power utilities which would generate an additional income of Rs 15 crore to the sugar mill.
        Earlier, he was presented with cheques of Rs 50 crore each by Chairman, HARCO Bank, Mr Gulshan Bhatia and Chairman, Hafed, Mr Harwinder Kalyan as a financial assistance for the setting up of this new sugar mill.
          While describing today as a historical day for the people of the area , the Chief Minister said that a sum of Rs 225 crore would be spent on this Mill and it would benefit the farmers of 232 villages of Karnal and Panipat districts where sugarcane cultivation has been done over 20,000 acres this year. This Sugar Mill would be made operational within one-and-a-half year, he added. He said that the new sugar mill would have a capacity of 3500 Tonnes of Cane per Day (TPD) where crushing of 60 lakh quintals of sugarcane would be made thus benefiting the farmers of the area in a big way. He said that this new sugar mill would be different from other mills as sugar produced in this mill would be more refined.
               Mr Manohar Lal said that the State Government has prepared a scheme to achieve the target set by Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi to make double the income of farmers by the year 2022. He said that capacity of all those sugar mills would be enhanced which are running under their capacity in the State. The Sugar Mill at Panipat would be shifted to a new place and its capacity would be enhanced upto 5000 MCD. Similarly, the crushing capacity of 1600 ton of sugarcane per day of Sonipat Sugar Mill would be enhanced to 2200 ton of sugarcane per day. This would help in increasing the sugarcane cultivation and also prevent the farmers from distress sale. The government is making efforts to ensure that the farmers earn income of Rs one lakh per acre, he added. He said that the State Government is giving sugarcane rate of Rs 330 per quintal which is highest in the country.
          He said that with a view to ensure that the farmers sell their produce online in any part of the State and on remunerative prices, the State  Government has made 54 mandis online whereas the  remaining 54 mandis would soon be made online. He also exhorted the farmers to switch over to micro irrigation to flood irrigation to save water adding that the subsidy on micro irrigation has been increased from 60 per cent to 80 per cent.
          He also listed out various other schemes implemented for the welfare of farmers including Bhavantar Bharpai Yonja and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
          Earlier speaking on this occasion, Minister of State for Cooperation Mr Manish Kumar Grover said that the State Government has made a payment of Rs 1088 crore to the sugar mills in the State during the last three years whereas the previous government has made a payment of only Rs 600 crore in seven years from 2007 to 2014. He said that it was for the first time in 37 years when as a Cooperation Minister, he has visited all cooperative sugar mills in the State and interacted with the sugarcane growers.
          Minister of State for Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj thanked the Chief Minister for giving a new sugar mill to the farmers of the area. He said that the State Government is contemplating to implement a scheme under which solar plants would be set up on the tube wells so that the farmers do not require to pay electricity bills. Moreover, the farmers would be able to sell the additional electricity to the power grids. To bigin with, this scheme would be implemented in Indri in Karnal, he added.

Philippines and World Bank delegates appreciate Haryana's Aadhaar related services

 A delegation comprising of members of Republic of Philippines and World Bank  on a two day visit to Haryana appreciated Haryana for the effective implementation of Aadhaar related services, de-duplication and savings to exchequer apart from benefits to citizens.
          The delegation was here to explore the possibilities of designing the Social Welfare programs.
          While the Philippines team was led by Dakila Carlo Cua, District Representative, Quirino Lone District, the World Bank team was led by Pablo Acosta, Senior Economist. They hoped that their experience would go a long way in trying to replicate similar initiatives in the Philippines based on a unique id.
         Mr Cua said that the Government of Philippines is in the process of defining design principles for their Social Welfare ID. He said that the delegation visited Haryana for the learning experience as the State is doing extremely well in the implementation of Aadhaar – the Unique ID Program and other Aadhaar related projects. Haryana ranks first in the country in Child Aadhaar coverage and AEBAS implementation. He said that they have learned many things from the state and expressed gratitude for showcasing the initiatives best utilizing the time.
          Principal Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology (IT) Department,  Mr Devender Singh gave a presentation briefing the delegation on the guiding principles, compliance with security compliances, Direct Benefit Transfer and coverage of Aadhaar in the State. He informed the delegation about how the ID program has further improved accountability, transparency and efficiency in e-governance service delivery.
          Mr Devender Singh also emphasized the importance of id platform that is error-free and ensures direct delivery of services and benefits to the intended recipients. He said that the State Government has also been engaged in implementing mechanisms for monitoring and promotion of Digital Payments to achieve the goal of cashless or less cash economy.The State Government has won many prestigious awards for initiatives such as - integration of Pension with Aadhaar enabled Jeevan Pramaan Patra, Aadhaar enrolment of newly born child at the time of Birth registration, Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System and Haryana’s overall e-Governance initiatives Award, he added.
          The delegation along with officials of the State Government visited Fair Price Shop at Panchkula in order to understand the processes involved in the distribution of food commodities using the unique id. The team also visited other public dealing centers including the Tehsil Office and Civil Hospital at Panchkula to study the mechanisms for Aadhaar enrollment, linking of unique id, birth registration and other related services.
           The delegation also held meetings with key stakeholders of the State Government including Chief Secretary, Mr D.S Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology (IT) Mr Devender Singh and Managing Director, HARTRON and Director General-cum-Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology, Mr Vijayendra Singh and other senior dignitaries.

Six IAS officers granted Selection Grade

CHANDIGARH, JAN 19
Haryana Government has granted Selection Grade of IAS (Level 13 in the Pay Matrix) to six IAS officers of 2005 batch with effect from January 1, 2018.
          These included Mr Mandip Singh Brar, Mr Saket Kumar, Mr Vinay Singh, Mr Chander Shekhar, Mr Jagdeep Singh and Mr S.S. Phulia.
BOSE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY: Haryana Government has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mr Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23, 2018 all across the State in a befitting manner. 
          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that tributes would be paid to Mr Subhash Chandra Bose and at least one Indian National Army (INA) Soldier would be visited by the Ministers in their districts.
          He said that all remaining INA soldiers and widows in every district will also be visited by Deputy Commissioner or any other IAS or HCS officers posted in their district. They would be given a shawl, a certificate of honour and a memento each. Required assistance in consultation with Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department would also be provided in this regard, he added.
MAHARAJA AGGARSEN CHOWK:  The Haryana Government has decided to rename the Sector-12, Panipat chowk as Maharaja Aggarsen Chowk.
          A proposal to this effect has been approved by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal.
TRANSFER OF PROPERTIES: Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal has accorded approval for the transfer of properties, interests in properties, rights and liabilities from Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) for publication of notification in terms of sub-section 46 of GMDA Act, 2017 of Transfer Scheme.

NBA accredits various engineering programs of YMCA Varsity

YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad has added another feather to its cap as various engineering programs of the University have received accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The accreditation granted by the NBA to University programs reflects the quality of Technical Education being imparted by the University and strengthens the University’s vision to become globally acclaimed Institute in Technical Education.
    Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar has congratulated all the staff members for this great achievement. Prof. Dinesh Kumar has expressed gratitude towards the Governor, who is also Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma for extending full support to the University due to which University has achieved another milestone to support the State Government’s mission to set high standards in Technical Education. He said that with the accreditation of various engineering programs, the graduates of this University would get ‘substantial equivalency’ in several countries including the USA and UK. 
Registrar, Dr. S.K. Sharma has also congratulated faculty and supporting staff and expressed pleasure over the achievement. 
    The NBA has granted accreditation to four Undergraduate Programmes and one Postgraduate Programme posed by the University under Tire-1 format. The accreditation has been granted to UG Programs for the period of three years and PG Program for two years. The programs which have been granted NBA accreditation includes B.Tech. in Computer Engineering, Electronics Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Master in Computers Application (MCA).
    The accreditation is in line with the Washington accord to which NBA is a signatory. In compliance with Washington accord, graduates of NBA Tier-1 accredited programs from YMCA University will be globally recognised by the other signatory countries, which include Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, UK and USA as having met the academic requirements for entry to the practice of engineering in those countries.
    NBA is an autonomous body that periodically evaluates technical institutions and programs according to specified norms and standards recommended by AICTE. As a part of accreditation process, NBA expert team visited the campus during November 24 to 26, 2017 and evaluated five Departments of the University.
    The NBA Expert Team assessed the University on its parameters and key aspects during its visit and inspected all the facilities like labs, workshops, libraries and other student support services and had extensive interaction with faculty, students, alumni, parents and senior functionaries of the University, besides examining all records maintained by the University.
    It may be recalled that YMCA University, upgraded to the level of University in year 2009, was granted ‘A’ Grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of University Grant Commission (UGC) in November, 2016 for the first time and recently, the University had been selected under the TEQIP-3 project.
Why get accredited? 
The purpose of the accreditation by NBA is to promote and recognize excellence in technical education in colleges and universities—at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels. Institutions, students, employers, and the public at large all benefit from the external verification of quality provided through the NBA accreditation process. They also benefit from the process of continuous quality improvement that is encouraged by the NBA’s developmental approach to promote excellence in technical education.

Haryana Panjabi Sahitya Akademi awards announced

CHANDIGARH, JAN 19
 The Haryana Panjabi Sahitya Akademi today announced various awards for outstanding contribution in the field of Punjabi literature for the year 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
          While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Akademi said that Akademi would present Haryana Punjabi Gaurav Award, carrying a cash component of Rs 2.5 lakh each, for year 2013 to Mr Atamjit Hanspal, for year 2014 to Mr Kadarnath Kedar, for year 2015 to Dr Ramesh Kumar and for year 2016 to Dr Amrit Kaur Raina.
          He said that Bhai Santokh Singh Award would be conferred upon Dr Pal Kaur and Mrs Jagir Kaur Sandhu for year 2013, Dr Sahib Singh Arshi for year 2014, Dr Sudarshan Gaso for 2015 and Mrs Joginder Kaur Agnihotri for 2016. It carries a cash prize of Rs1.25 lakh.
          He said that Dr Nayab Singh Mander, Mr Subeg Saddar, Mr Darshan Singh and Mr Sadhu Singh Kisan would be awarded Baba Shekh Fareed Puraskar for year 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. The award carries a cash prize of Rs1.11 lakh each.
          He said that Sant Taran Singh Vahimi Award comprised Rs one lakh, for year 2013 would be given to Dr Gurdarpal Singh, for year 2014 to Mr Lakhwinder Singh Bajwa, for 2015 to Mr Iqbal Singh and for 2016 to Mrs Manjit Kaur Ambalwi.
          Similarly, Kavi Harbhajan Singh Rainu Award, carries Rs 51,000 each for year 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 would be conferred upon Mr Puran Singh Nirala, Mr Haribhajan Singh Raja, Mr Subhash Saluja and Mrs Kanwaljit Kaur Juneja respectively.
          The Akademi would present Patrakarita Puraskar, carries a cash prize of Rs 51,000 for year 2016 to Mr Bhupinder Singh Panniwalia.
          The Ragi/Dadhi/Lok Gayak Award for year 2013 would be given to Mr Manjinder Singh whereas the same for year 2014, 2015 and 2016 would be bestowed to Mr Karnail Singh Aspal, Mr Gurmukh Singh Wariach and Mrs Rinku Kalia respectively. The award carries prize money of Rs 51,000.
          The Akademi has also announced the name of winners under the Pustak or Story Puraskar Yojna. In poem category, the award for year 2013 and 2015 would be given to Mr Subeg Singh and Mr Buta Singh Pritam respectively.
          In Story category, the award for year 2013 would be given to Pritma Domale and Anil Kumar while the same for year 2016 would be conferred upon Mr Kesra Ram. 
          In children literature category, the award for year 2016 would be given to Mrs Meena Naveen. 
          In play category, the award for year 2013 and 2015 would be given to Mr Gurpreet Sindhra and Mr Kulwinder Singh respectively. 
          In Novel category, the award for year 2013 would be given to Mr Gurmangat Gafal.
          In review/biography category, the award for year 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 would be conferred upon Dr Paramjit Kaur Siddhu, Dr Jeet Singh, Dr Harmeet Kaur and Dr Devender Bibipuria respectively. All these awards carries a cash prize of Rs 21,000 each.

Proposal to exhibit teacher's photo in classroom

CHANDIGARH, JAN 19
The Haryana Government is considering a proposal to exhibit the photograph of the teacher in the classroom to ensure that the students are taught by their real teacher, not by a proxy.
            Disclosing this at a public meeting in Jind today, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, said efforts were being made to pace up the process of filling up the vacant posts in government departments. Selection has been made for 35,000 posts and results have already been announced.
        All youths cannot be provided with government jobs but steps are being taken to provide employment and self-employment opportunity to each youth. Companies are making huge capital investments to set up industry in the state, and, in the near future, there would be no shortage of employment for the youth in the state. 
   The Chief Minister said many schemes had been implemented by the Central and the state government for providing employment and self- employment and people must make take full benefit of these schemes. 
           Referring to development, he said all constituencies were being developed equitably. Same amount of money is being provided for the development of all constituencies, even to those which are represented by opposition MLAs. Every constituency has been provided with funds ranging from Rs 150 to Rs 200 crore for executing development works.
          The Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar said that under the able leadership of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, there has been equitable development in the state.
    In Jind district, development projects to the tune of Rs 200 crore have been completed and more are in the works. He inaugurated four projects costing Rs 25.22 crore, and laid the foundation stone of 11 projects to be constructed at a cost of Rs 128.84 crore in district Jind.
The projects inaugurated included the newly constructed building of the Industrial Training Institute, Julana and Jind, new building of Government College at Alewa, and construction of road from Sisar to Dhakal.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of a new bus stand, 33 KV sub stations in Khatkar, Ikkas, Sangatpura, Kabarchha,  road from Budha Khera to Kharak Gagar, Dera Fattu (Muana) to Budha Khera and from Narwana to Gypsum factory, Sewerage Treatment Plant, Jind, Synthetic Athletic Track at Navdeep Stadium, Narwana, and Shaheed Captain Pawan Kumar Regional Centre of Horticultural University in Badhana village.

CM assures setting up of SC Commission

CHANDIGARH, JAN 15
 Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal KhattAr today assured that the Scheduled Castes (SC) Commission will soon be set up in the State and the backlog of posts for persons belonging to scheduled castes and backward classes would be filled. 
           Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the representatives of Ravidas Community from different parts of the State who called on him here today. He said that Necessary directions have been issued to Chief Secretary for this purpose. An advertisement would soon be issued to initiate the process of filling these posts, he said.
          He said that a new scheme would also be prepared to ensure that the budget available under the SC component in various departments is fully utilized.
                  While establishing an instant chord with the members of the Community, the Chief Minister said that he is working by taking along all sections of the society in the State. The State Government has worked for providing equal opportunity to 55 lakh families and not to uplift any particular community or caste. A transparent recruitment and transfer policy has also been implemented in the State, he added.
           He said that the present State Government has discontinued the tradition of dividing the people on caste lines for using them as vote bank which was prevailing in the previous governments and is working towards the welfare and development of needy and poor. 
           The Chief Minister said that as in some departments, the budget of SC component  remain unspent, a new scheme would be prepared for such departments so that people of the community could get full  benefit of funds meant for their welfare. He said that the Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Mr Anil Kumar on the issue of reservation in promotion would soon submit its report. After studying the report, the government would file a reply in the Court, he added.
           Mr Manohar Lal said that a survey would soon be launched in the State regarding the BPL cards. Besides, the government would make an arrangement of training in skill development for the children belonging to Scheduled Castes. Apart from this, to avoid delay in the disbursement of scholarship under the post matric scholarship scheme, the tuition fee and scholarship would be provided to the students of the Community on the basis of available data.
               He said that an inquiry would be conducted regarding the scholarship of year 2014 and the same would be disbursed thereafter.
          Among those present on this occasion included Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Minister of State for Public Health and Engineering Dr Banwari Lal, BJP State Media Incharge Mr Rajiv Jain, State President of SC Wing of BJP, Mr Ramavtar Balmiki and large number of representatives of Ravidas Community.

Capt. Abhimanyu greets the people of the state and soldiers of Army

On the occasion of Army Day 2018, the Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu has greeted the people of the state and soldiers of Indian Army.
          In a message issued here today, Capt. Abhimanyu said that the Indian Army was capable to deal with any kind of situation and each soldier was always dedicated to maintain the dignity of service. The brave soldiers from Haryana have always proved their mettle, he added.
          The Finance Minister said, “Being from Army background, it is a matter of pride for me that every tenth soldier in Indian Army belongs to Haryana and the same spirit can be seen in youth of the state towards the para-military forces. Keeping this in view, the State Government had constituted separate Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department to facilitate soldiers and their dependents”.
STAR RATING OF VILLAGES: Come April 1, each village in the State would be given stars of different colours in recognition of outstanding performance made in different fields. The star rating of all villages would be made available in the department website. 
          While stating this today, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development and Panchayats Minister, Mr O.P Dhankar said that stars of different colours would be given to the villages in different categories like being outstanding in gender ratio, environment conservation, cleanliness of village ponds, crime free and social harmony, good governance, community participation and cleanliness. 
          He said that the village fulfilling the criterion of all seven stars would be given the status of Indradhanush village. Such village would be provided funds for development. He said that applications under the scheme would be invited in February 2018 and the committee comprising specialists would scrutinize the claims of the villages.  On the basis of report of the Committee, stars would be provided, he added.

Strengthening primary education system is priority: Ram Vilas

 Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said that strengthening primary education system is among the priority of the state government and continuous efforts are being made in this direction.
          Mr Sharma was addressing the 65th meeting of Central Education Advisory Board held under the chairmanship of Union Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi today.
          He presented the details of the schemes being implemented by the State Government for the development and expansion of education in Haryana. He informed that Haryana Government is working in a planned manner to develop the state as a hub of sports along with education. A University would also be established in the name of Suryakavi Pandit Lakhmi Chand in Haryana for development of art and culture in parallel with the development of sports.
          Education Minister said that he himself and senior officers of Education Department observe classes for one hour in any school or educational institution. 
          Responding to the issue raised by the Haryana Education Minister regarding financial support from the Center towards development of quality education, the Union Human Resource Development Minister said that a scheme is being prepared by the Central Government for the states performing notable work for quality of education under which financial assistance will be provided.

          Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs Menaka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Thawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minority Affairs Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Mr Satyapal Singh and Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also addressed the meeting. 
RETAINING COMPUTER INSTRUCTORS: Haryana Government has released a revised policy to temporarily retain the existing computer instructors and computer lab attendants in government colleges for the year 2017-18.
          Giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that the State Government had granted permission to re-engage the existing computer instructors and computer lab attendants purely on temporary basis. All the Principals would re-engage the existing computer instructors and computer lab attendants upto April 30, 2018. In no case, no new computer instructor and computer lab attendant would be engaged without prior approval of the department.
          He said that computer instructor would be paid Rs 23,000 per month and Rs 15,000 per month would be given to computer lab attendant. Their duty hours in the colleges would be from 9 am to 4 pm.
