CM launches State Level Amrit Sarovar Mission from Nahra village

Chandigarh, May 1

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is making Bhagirath-like efforts to save every single drop of water.

“Just as Bhagirath with his dedicated efforts had brought the river Ganga from the Heavens to the Earth, similarly Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi by launching Amrit Sarovar Mission  has also made Bhagirath-like efforts to save Ponds,” said Sh. Manohar Lal after launching the State-Level Amrit Sarovar Mission during a programme organized at Nahra village in Sonipat district on Sunday.

He said that water is the core of healthy land and we would not like to give barren land without water to our next generation.

After reaching the event, the Chief Minister launched the Amrit Sarovar Mission with the coconut breaking ritual at the village Gangeshwar Sarovar. Congratulating the workers on International Labour Day, the Chief Minister also contributed through ‘Shramdan’.

While addressing the public representatives who had joined the Amrit Sarovar Mission programme organized at 111 places across the state through video conferencing, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi while understanding the basic mantra that ‘Water is Life’ has launched a mission to save the ponds across the country.

Sh. Narendra Modi has called upon the nation to work on a plan to clean or rejuvenate 75 ponds in each district across the country and today’s programme from Haryana is a part of this Mission, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that earlier people used to dig ponds themselves. But for a long time, people did not pay attention to the cleanliness of the ponds, due to which the ponds became polluted. With the passage of time, waste coming out of various sources started flowing into these ponds. The water of the ponds started overflowing but from today we have taken the initiative to resolve this problem, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that there are 18,000 ponds in Haryana, out of which 4000 are filled with rainwater, while 6000 are filled with water for animal use and 8000 ponds are filled with dirty water, which will be treated.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the historic ponds of the state would be renovated as pilgrimage sites. Under the Amrit Sarovar Mission, firstly 8000 ponds of Haryana will be renovated by August 15, 2022, out of which work has been started on 1600 ponds.

After this, the condition of all the remaining ponds in the entire state will be improved. Under this, by excavating the ponds, building retaining walls and beautification, the surrounding site will be made attractive. The Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority have been constituted for the rejuvenation of ponds in the state and a separate provision of Rs. 1000 crore has been made for this.

Recharging well will be built in every government building in the state

The Chief Minister said that every drop of water would be saved and used. Under this, recharging wells will be built in all government buildings across Haryana so that rainwater can be conserved. The Chief Minister also called upon the farmers to conserve rainwater. He said that 750 recharging borewells were installed last year. This year a target has been set to make them 5000.

Recycled water will also be used

The Chief Minister said that the wastewater coming out from industries and sewerage would be recycled and reused through STP. This water will be reused for industries, construction works, horticulture and agriculture through micro-irrigation.

He said that this water contains components of manure, which is very beneficial for growing vegetables, fruits, flowers and crops. Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran has also been directed to lay double lines to make this recycled water available for household needs such as washing cars, toilets and gardening, etc.

Farmers should emphasize on micro-irrigation

The Chief Minister said that the need for clean water is increasing continuously. There is 82 lakh acres of cultivable land in the state. Out of this, direct irrigation is done on 40 lakh acres of land, on the rest of the land we are not able to irrigate directly due to lack of clean water, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

Calling upon the farmers, the Chief Minister said that they should adopt micro-irrigation system. For this, 85 percent subsidy is provided by the State Government and only 15 percent of money has to be invested by the farmers.

He said that every year the water level is going down by 1 meter due to tubewell irrigation. Farmer has to put one-meter pipe in the borewell every year and if we keep doing this then in 10-20 years the land will run out of water which will not only end the fertility of the land but the future generations will also get barren land said, Sh. Manohar Lal.

In a bid to ensure farmers should adopt crop diversification, the State Government is giving an incentive amount of Rs. 7000 per acre every year. Last year, under this scheme, farmers have reduced the sowing of paddy on 1 lakh acres, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.

Chief Minister makes several pivotal announcements for Nahra village

Sh. Manohar Lal while making several pivotal announcements for Nahra village announced that an amount of Rs. 82 lakh would be spent on the beautification of the Gangeshwar pond under the Amrit Sarovar Mission. Apart from this, he also announced the rejuvenation of the four ponds located in Nahra village, accorded approval for Rs. 70 lakh to pave the path of the fields, construction of the street at Asthal Bohar temple, Rs. 1.5 crore for Community Center to be built on one acre of land, construction of park on 3 acres of land and open gym, arrangement of books in the library and repair of 5 chaupals.

The Chief Minister also announced the repair of the Government Girls Senior School building and if required approval would be given for the construction of the new school building. He also announced the laying of the pipeline for watersheds in the area.

A visionary Haryana Budget: Chief Minister

 Chandigarh, March 26

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the State Government has worked to give a new vision to the state’s Budget 2022-23.
This is the ‘Diamond Budget’, in which the emphasis is on qualitative growth. Special focus was given on topics including Samartha Haryana, Antyodaya, Sustainable Development and Environment. This is the first time that the budget has been prepared after holding pre-budget meetings with Ministers, Economists and the learned section of the society as well as other stakeholders, he added.
The Chief Minister said this while discussing the important points related to the State Budget, which was recently passed in the Vidhan Sabha with the gathering during a programme held at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar on Saturday.
During this, the Chief Minister said that before presenting the Budget this time, suggestions were taken and as many as eight pre-budget meetings were held with 550 people.
After presenting the budget for the first time, eight committees of 74 MLAs were formed to hold detailed subject-wise discussions on the budget. Suggestions were invited from these committees, shared the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister further informed that the budget session that lasted from March 2 to March 22, 12 sittings were held which lasted for 50 hours and all the MLAs discussed several issues related to their constituencies.
“Our government has made budgetary allocation for every section and sector in this budget. Last year, a budget of Rs. 1, 53,000 crore was presented, while this year an amount of Rs. 1, 77,000 crore has been presented which shows an increase of 15 percent.
Haryana's budget prepared on fixed parameters
The Chief Minister said that the budget of any state is prepared on certain parameters, such as state’s deficit, how much has been spent and how much loans have been taken. The budget of Haryana is in accordance with the parameters set by the Central Government and the Reserve Bank, he added.
He further said that Haryana's Debt to GSDP ratio has been fixed at 25 percent, while the state is being able to cap this at 24 percent. This is below the GSDP limit and because of this loan many financial institutions are interested to give loans to the state at a 6 percent interest rate, said the Chief Minister
"If we talk about Punjab, then their Debt to GSDP ratio has reached 48 percent and due to this, Punjab is forced to take loans at the rate of 10 percent. Still, we believe that loans should be taken only as per the requirement, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
100 clusters to be formed for organic farming
Sh. Manohar Lal said that emphasis has been laid on qualitative improvement in this Budget. With the help of chemicals and medicines, the production of grains has certainly been increased however along with this, due to the excessive use of these chemicals, food items have become adulterated.
The goal of the government is to improve agriculture and farmers should move towards zero budget farming and organic farming. In this budget, formation of 100 clusters of 25 acres each has been announced to promote organic farming. Financial incentives for a period of three years would be provided to the farmers adoption this farming, informed the Chief Minister.
Ayurveda and Allopathy should work together

Rest of the states will implement the education policy by 2030 while Haryana has set a target of implementing it by 2025, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.
Government’s aims to uplift the last person first
The Chief Minister said that the information system has been strengthened through Parivar Pehchan Patra. With this, every eligible person will get the benefit of the schemes being run by the Government, he added.
The State aims to make a capable Haryana so that benefits can reach at the bottom of the pyramid. Earlier, a family having an annual income of Rs. 1.20 lakh was considered as BPL this limit has now been increased upto 1.80 lakh. Apart from this, Antyodaya Melas are being organized to increase the income of the families having an income of Rs.1 lakh, Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that far these Melas have been successfully organized in two phases. More than 250 camps were organized for this and around 1.80 lakh people participated in these Melas. Out of this, applications of half of the people have been approved and they will soon be getting the loan.
The motto of the previous governments was to benefit those on the top of the pyramid, while we aim to uplift the last person first, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Emphasis on sustainable development and environmental protection
The Chief Minister said that 17 parameters of sustainable development have also been included in this budget. Continuous work will be done on issues like poverty, hunger, development, water etc. Utmost care has been give to ensure availability of land, water, forest and clean environment to the coming generations.
Last time 700 rechargeable wells were announced but this time we have announced 5000 rechargeable wells. We need to conserve water and for this every section of the society has to come forward. Sowing of paddy has to be reduced.  An incentive of Rs. 7000 per acre is being given to the farmers for adopting crop diversification. M Dharma, Ranjit Singh and Kapil Kumar tied at the top

  AHMEDABAD, FEB 24

The Gujarat Open Golf Championship 2022 presented by Gujarat Tourism seems to be heading for a fascinating finish as round three saw a three-way tie for the lead between Bengaluru’s M Dharma, Chandigarh’s Ranjit Singh and Kapil Kumar of Delhi, all placed at 10-under 206, at the Kalhaar Blues & Greens Golf Club in Ahmedabad.

Karandeep Kochhar, another Chandigarh golfer and Delhi’s Arjun Prasad were two strokes adrift of the joint leaders in tied fourth place at the Rs. 40 lakh event.

M Dharma (72-69-65) struck the day’s best score of seven-under 65 to gain 12 spots on the leaderboard. Dharma’s putter was on fire early on as he sank some long putts to pick up an eagle and five birdies on the first 10 holes.

Dharma, a two-time winner on the PGTI, then endured a tough stretch when he double-bogeyed the 13th after finding the hazard and missed a short birdie putt on the 14th. However, he regained his touch with birdies on the 15th and 17th.

“I’ve been extremely consistent from the back half of the previous season. Even though I suffered a ligament strain in my left thumb late last year, I continued to play well. Now that I have almost recovered from my injury, I’m looking to carry forward the momentum this year. As for the final round, I’ll just look to repeat what I did today,” said Dharma.

The seasoned Ranjit Singh (70-68-68), looking for his first title, moved up three places with his second successive 68 on Thursday. Ranjit had a quiet front-nine with a birdie and a bogey but made a move on the back-nine with five birdies and a bogey. He capped his round with an outstanding approach on the 18th that landed within a couple of feet of the flag.

Ranjit said, “My game picked up from the second half of the season last year after I changed my irons. I’ve shot good scores in all events since then. Today again my iron-play was terrific. The key in the final round would be to play well on the toughest stretch of the course which lies between the 12th and the 15th.”

Kapil Kumar (68-67-71), who was overnight second and two off the lead, kept himself in the hunt for his maiden title with a 71 riding on his good driving and putting form. Kapil’s three birdies included some quality chip-putts. He also dropped two bogeys.

Kapil said, “I was struggling for form last year. But I changed my putter before this event and that has led to my better performance on the greens. With my putting clicking, the focus will be on making maximum regulations in the final round in order to create scoring opportunities.”

Karandeep Kochhar (64-75-69), who returned a 75 in round two, came back into contention with a 69 on day three.

Arjun Prasad (73-65-70) carded a 70 on Thursday to continue in tied fourth place at eight-under 208.

Round two leader Tapy Ghai of Delhi shot a 76 to drop to tied sixth place at seven-under 209.

Among the Gujarat-based golfers, Anshul Patel (73-70-72) was the highest-placed as he occupied tied 18th at one-under 215. The other two local golfers Varun Parikh (one-over 217) and Shravan Desai (eight-over 224) were placed tied 23rd and tied 37th, respectively.
