Chandigarh, May 12 The State Eligibility Test in Computer Appreciation and Applications (SETC) will be held in the office of Haryana State Electronic Development Corporation (HARTRON), Chandigarh from May 24 to 30, 2010.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of HARTRON said that the test for the candidates bearing roll number 10050001 to 10050300 would be held on May 24, for candidates bearing roll number from 10050301 to 10050700 on May 25, for candidates bearing roll number from 10050701 to 10051100 on May 26, for candidates bearing roll number from 10051101 to 10051500 on May 27, for candidates bearing roll number from 10051501 to 10051900 on May 28, for candidates bearing roll number from 10051901 to 10052300 on May 29 and for candidates bearing roll number from 10052301 to 10052670 on May 30.
The candidates were advised to visit website of HARTRON www.hartron.org for detailed schedule and time, he added.

5162 qualify for second round of SPAT

As many as 5,162 players have qualified for the second round of SPAT (Sports & Physical Aptitude Test) to be held from 15-17 May, 2010. The qualified players scored over 65% in the tests conducted by the department of sports. As many as 73,912 players had got registered for SPAT 2010 in the state between notified periods of 1-10 April 1 to 10.
A Government spokesman disclosed that 2,707 of qualifiers are in 8-14 years age-group, 2,455 are in 14-19 years. Among the qualifiers, 797 are girls and 4,365 are boys. All the candidates scoring upward of the qualifying mark of 75%+ in the second round would be entitled for scholarship as per the government's policy. 41,361 players had braved the heat of summer and reported for the SPAT at different venues. 6,196 candidates failed to submit the duly filled registration forms, resulting only 35,165 players were left for consideration.
Bhiwani, Rohtak and Sonepat districts contributed maximum number of qualifiers in first round with selection of 1,012, 814 and 615 players. In Mewat, Faridabad, Kaithal & Ambala district players fared badly as only 16, 20, 34, 45 players respectively could pass the SPAT first round. Government spokesman disclosed that Faridabad could have fared better but its 2,321 participants did not fill up age column, making it impossible for age-dependent marking system to progress any further.
Results of 6,196 who registered/reported after the due date of registration, that is April 10, 2010, or who have taken the test but their application forms were incompletely filled are under process and shall be made available on the website. The department wishes them good luck for SPAT, 2011 due in Oct-Nov, 2010 as in this financial year it is considering for second round only 5,162 of those who have filled their application forms duly, applied between April 1 to 10 cared to take the test and have scored 65% onwards.

HARSAC invites application for summer training course

Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC) has invited applications for six weeks Summer Training Course on “Remote Sensing and GIS” for post graduate students at Hisar.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Centre said that the complete application form duly forwarded by concerned Principal or Head of Department should reach Chief Scientist, HARSAC, CCS HAU Campus, Hisar on or before May 21, 2010.
He said that the applicant should have completed or pursuing Master degree in either of the subjects of Environmental Science, Earth Science, Bio-Sciences, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Agricultural Sciences, Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences or equivalent. The course would be conducted form June 14, 2010 to July 23, 2010.
He said that the total number of seats was fifty and selection would be based purely on merit of the marks obtained in B.A., B.Sc. or B.Tech. Weightage of five percent extra marks would be given to a candidate who had completed M.A or M.Sc. degree in the relevant field. A minimum of 10 seats would be allotted to each discipline. The first list of the selected candidates would be displayed at HARSAC notice board and uploaded on the website on May 26, 2010. The second list would be displayed on June 1, 2010. The selected candidates would be required to deposit the admission fee within three days after the display of the list, failing which their selection would stand cancelled and the seat would be allotted to the next candidate in the waiting list.
He said that if the numbers of applications received were less than twenty, HARSAC might cancel the training program. HARSAC would not provide any accommodation and the candidates would have to make their own arrangements during the training period. HSBTE allow one more mercy chance to diploma students

The Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) has decided to allow one more mercy chance to all diploma students of 2003 batch or earlier who could not complete their diploma course within double the duration of the course.
As per a letter issued by the Board, these students may avail the mercy chance during the Board Examination scheduled to be held in June/July, 2010. A fee of Rs 1,000 per paper for the mercy chance shall have to be deposited by the candidate in the Account No. – 0087000111223535 of HSBTE in any CBS Branch of Punjab National Bank. The candidates should submit PCA forms along with original fee receipt to their respective Principals preferably upto May 7, 2010.
The candidates shall be appearing in the new prevailing subject identities with current curriculum in the respective subject along with the regular candidates, as far as possible. Such candidates will appear in the examination in their respective institute(s).
All the Principals have been urged to submit the applications received in original along with details of such candidates by intimating the subjects/identities in which they are appearing, preferably, upto May 10, 2010 so that equivalency may be finalized and required secrecy material may be prepared well before time.

Middle examination results on May 7

The result of first and second semester of Middle Examination March-2010 of re-appear and regular students is being declared on May 7, 2010.
While stating this today, a spokesman of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani said that the Head of the Schools should collect result of the regular students and applications forms of middle/secondary and senior secondary schools from the office of District Education Officer from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 7 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 8. The results would also be available from 6 a.m. on May 7 at BSNL - SMS- hr 0856666 (SMS Code), websites http://bseh.gov.in or http://results.nic.in and helpline no. 01664-254000.
The students who were to send applications form for Re-Appear Examination September-2010 on the basis of this result could submit their application forms at syllabus book sale centres set up by the Board by May 27 without late fee, by June 3 with a late fee of Rs.100, by June 10 with a late fee of Rs.300 and by July 30 with a late fee of Rs.1000. The application forms send through courier would not be accepted, he added.
