74.69 lakh MT of paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

More than 74.69 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Mandis of Haryana as compared to over 73.90 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.

          While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 64.33 lakh MT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 1.03 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers and dealers.

          He said that more than 35.06 lakh MT of paddy have been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department whereas, over 19.84 lakh MT of paddy has been procured  by Hafed, over 9.37 lakh MT by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 4,725 MT by the Food Corporation of India.

          He further said that more than 17.49 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of district Karnal followed by over 11.42 lakh MT in district Kurukshetra, over 8.83 lakh MT in district Ambala, over 8.46 lakh MT in Fatehabad, over 7.81 lakh MT in Kaithal, over 7.28 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 2.91 lakh MT in Sonepat, over 2.15 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 1.92 lakh MT in Jind, over 1.61 lakh MT in Panchkula, over 1.39 lakh MT in Panipat, over 1.27 lakh MT in Palwal, 1.37 lakh MT in Hisar, 47,872 MT in Rohtak, 14,148 MT in Faridabad, and 8,653 MT in Mewat.

          He said that more than 2.69 lakh metric tonnes of bajra has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far as compared to 1.80 lakh metric tonnes of bajra arrived during the corresponding period last year. Out of the total arrival of bajra, more than 2.67 lakh metric tonnes have been procured by government procurement agencies.

HAFED SALE TARGET: Chairman, Hafed, Mr Subhash Katyal inspected Hafed Oil Mill Rewari and also carried out herbal plantations.

          Mr. Subhash Katyal, after conducting an inspection in the Hafed Sales and Marketing Department, said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal, Hafed should work in the direction of generating highest income, and all out efforts should be made for this purpose.

          He directed to achieve the sale target of Rs 3 crore of HAFED products in Rewari and increased it to 5 crore in the next financial year. District Manager and HAFED Oil General Manager assured to achieve the target. He asked to make efforts to increase the existing 4.52 crore profit of Hafed Oil Mill to Rs 5 crore. With this, he instructed to increase the 83 percent utility of the oil mill to 100 percent.

          Hafed Oil Mill General Manager Mr Neeraj Tyagi assured to fulfill the demand for installation of filter and automatic leveling machine. Apart from this, he assured to fulfill the demand of making modern sales center in the district office premises and asked to send the proposal to the concerned branch of the headquarters.

Haryana to open one Sanskrit Model School in each district

 In a significant move to further improve the quality of education in the State, Haryana Government has decided to open one Sanskriti Model School in each block of the State in the year 2020. At present, 22 such schools are operational in the State, one in each district.

          This was informed by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal while presiding over the meeting of Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associates (CMGGAs). Project Director, Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme Dr Rakesh Gupta was also present in the meeting.

          Mr Manohar Lal was apprised of the work done in different initiatives under the Saksham Haryana project. He appreciated the work done in the last 2 years on Saksham ghoshna and encouraged the digital interventions (Service books, Saksham adhyapak app, Chalklit). He also directed to get a survey conducted to find out the enrollment ratio of students in science viz-a-viz other streams so as to ascertain the interest of students. He also directed to fasten the approval process for CM Saksham scholarship initiative.

          It was informed that 107 blocks out of the total 119 blocks have been declared Saksham and 86 per cent students grade-level competent. It was also informed that recruitment to more than 1300 posts of Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Assistant Block Resource Persons (ABRPs) have been made on contractual basis in the State. Working as mentors, the BRPs and ABRPs spent two-and-a-half hours per day in schools and watch the education being imparted to the students. Rigorous training of all new mentors was conducted to ensure that they provide good support to teachers.

          He was also informed on the strategy for improving the board results this year for classes 10th and 12th and about the upcoming Saksham ghosna rounds in January and February. He said that the present State Government has discontinued the system prevailing earlier of giving grace marks to the students of class 10th and 12th in order to improve the results. But ever after this, the results of students has been improved considerably.

          While addressing the CMGGAs, the Chief Minister said that this is the fourth consecutive year of this programme and every year it is getting better in performance indicators. He said that the State Government has taken various initiatives in the field of e-governance to provide transparent and graft-free governance to the people. It is also a leading State in the country in many spheres. Describing corruption as a cancer, he said that it could be checked through the effective use of information technology.

          While reviewing progress on Antyodaya Saral, he directed to do a diagnosis and finalise the list of new kendra’s on the basis of demand and geography and appreciated the good performing districts and departments on Antyodaya Saral dashboard. He also directed to make more efficient systems to tackle corruption and work on social audit and act upon the feedback by the citizens on different channels and call centre.He also reviewed the progress on other IT initiatives like E-office and property tax and directed the team to work on them and use IT as a tool to improve governance in the state.  

          He also directed the associates to work on women's safety campaigns in the districts and work on innovative strategies to make women’s safety a movement in Haryana by involving different local communities and civil societies. While referring to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme, he said that in the year 2014, the sex ratio of Haryana was only 871.  But as a result of efforts made by the State Government and support of people and other social organizations, it has touched 937. Today, Haryana is being recognized in the country and the world for its efforts made towards saving girl child, he added.

          He said that the state government is actively working on the topic of higher education and the present State Government has opened 29 colleges for women in the last five years whereas in the past 48 years only 31 such colleges were opened. He said that it was for the first time in the State that Haryana Higher Education Council has been set up with an objective of guiding the growth of higher education in accordance with the socio-economic requirements of the State. He also directed the team to focus extensively on solving the quality of education in these colleges through different national assessments and accreditations.

          On this occasion, the Chief Minister also reviewed Swach Survekshan, Good governance scorecard and prevention of stubble burning. He was apprised on the preparedness for the upcoming Swachh survekshan and systemic solutions to get Haryana districts in Top 10 in the survekshan rankings.

          He concluded the meeting by motivating the associates to keep up the good work and build sustainable systems that will help tackle problems from the grassroot level.

WEB PORTAL OF BAR COUNCIL OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA:  Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will launch the Web Portal of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh at Law Bhawan, Sector-37 A, Chandigarh on December 12, 2019. He would also unveil the book written by Justice S.N. Aggarwal (Retd.) on this occasion.

          While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Office of Advocate General, Haryana said that Judge Supreme Court of India Justice Mr Ashok Bhan (Retd.) would preside over the function in the  presence of Advocate General of Haryana Mr Baldev Raj Mahajan.

          He said that Chairman, Bar Council Mr Harpreet Singh Brar, Vice Chairman Mr Gurtej Singh Grewal, Member Bar Council of India Mr Partap Singh and Honorary Secretary Mr Suvir Sidhu would also be present on this occasion.

Food processing unit in village Bhor Saydan will generate employment

Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal Khattar said that the food processing unit in village Bhor Saydan, Kurukshetra, will certainly help the State youth to get employment opportunities. He said that by setting up this kind of food processing unit, around one thousand youth will be employed here.

          He said that the youth who will be employed in this unit will get an income of about Rs 20 thousand  per month and for this the qualified youth will be imparted a  six months training in this unit and after training the youth will be able to establish their employment.

          The Chief Minister said this during his visit to the food processing unit being set up by a Kurukshetra-based progressive farmer Harpal Singh Bajwa. The Chief Minister visited the unit before attending the   Global Bhagavad Gita Path at the International Gita Mahotsav.

          During his visit to the unit, the Chief Minister obtained information about the entire process from making seeds of mushroom plant and preparing compost, packaging system and other activities. Progressive farmer Harpal Singh Bajwa further explained about every aspect of this unit and said that this unit has provided employment opportunities to around 100 people from five nearby villages.

          After observing the food processing unit, the Chief Minister praised Harpal Singh Bajwa, for his contribution in the food processing unit and mushroom farm.  He said that this unit will provide employment opportunities to the youth.

          Meanwhile, on the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti Mahotsav, Harpal Singh assured that he will give six months training to one thousand youths in this unit. After this training, the youth will be able to earn Rs 20 thousand per month. He said that by installing such units, they will be able to produce mushrooms and other products.

          Mr Bajwa said that in the year 1995, he had set up a mushroom farm and for this he took training from Krishi Vigyan Kendra and taking a loan of Rs 50 lakh. He said that this farm was given the shape of a large project in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture. Now a food processing unit has been set up at this place.  He further shared that in this unit, every farmer of the district who will bring tomato, spinach, mustard, garlic and other products will be given 50 paise more than the minimum price per kg.

          He said that this unit consumes at least 25 to 30 tons of tomatoes daily and spinach, mustard and garlic are also used in it. Mushrooms from this farm house are sent to Canada. Mustard greens will also be sent to Canada. He said that the project of Baby Corn and Sweet Corn is also being done in collaboration with the Horticulture Department. An amount of Rs 3 crore has been spent on this food processing unit since 2012. Now compost will be made from the straw.

Haryana announces major relief to Group D employees

 In a major relief to thousands of Group D employees, over 18000 of whom were recruited earlier this year on merit and without any interview, Haryana Government has reallocated their Departments and/or redesignated their posts. All the concerned Group D employees have been directed to join their duties against the re-allocated post in the Department/Office where posted immediately and in any case not later than three working days.

          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that they are being informed through SMS on this registered mobile phone number while all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners have been directed to relieve the concerned Group D employees immediately.

          It may be recalled that earlier in July this year the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal had decided to grant one time opportunity for change of the Department/post of newly recruited persons in Group D posts. The requests in this regard had come especially from those appointed to the posts of cook, cobbler, barber etc. and also from others posted in the offices far away from the their place of residence. Upon the direction of the Chief Minister, a dedicated web portal was created to deal with such requests. All willing candidates were directed to submit their request online for re-allocation of post or department on that portal and to indicate their options for change of post and/or department. The requests of total 3,412 employees for change of both post and department or either post or department had finally been accepted though an objective logic in the portal. The list of all these employees with the existing post/department and the post/department now allocated will now be made available at the website www.csharyana.gov.in from December 9, 2019 onwards.

          A total number of 4968 employees of various departments had registered their requests. Out of 58 applicants currently working as Barbers, 43 have succeeded in getting allocated another post of their choice. Out of 336 applicants who were previously allocated post of Cook, 252 have got allocated to different posts. Likewise, out of 257 applicants currently working as Malis, 166 candidates have successfully got allocated to some other posts.

Bhagvad Gita leads one to the path of righteousness: Manohar Lal

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that  that the knowledge as prescribed in Bhagvad Gita leads one to the path of righteousness. He said that any individual, who fails to attain the real message of Bhagvad Gita, keeps on finding dishonest ways to fulfill his desires which ultimately forces him to get involved in corruption.

          The Chief Minister was addressing the people after inaugurating the newly Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Dwar and Lord Krishna-Arjuna statue at Baldi Bypass Karnal today. The Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Dwar and Lord Krishna-Arjuna statue has been built at a cost of Rs 98 lakh.

          The Chief Minister while congratulating the gathering said that the State Government has planned to build seven such gates in the name of legends. He said that the work of one such gate is completed and the work of two other gates is in progress.  

          He further said that the construction of these gates will not only give special recognition to Karnal, but the people visiting Karnal will also get the message preached by these legends.

          He said that the practice of making such gates has been in place since ancient times and in the old times the Kings used to make such gates for the safety and identity of their cities.  He said that the old Karnal city also has many such gates with different names.

          The Chief Minister said that the State Government is holding discussions with Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj and other saints, to prepare a plan for organizing three-day Gita Mahotsav in every state of India, on the same lines as the Gita Mahotsav being organized abroad.

          He said that as a result of the dedicated efforts made during the last four years, the Gita Mahotsav has now become an International level festival. He said that every year, diplomats and representatives of various nations of the world participate in the International Gita Mahotsav, being organized in Kurukshetra.

          He said that this year the International Gita Mahotsav was organized in Mauritius and then London in the month of February and August respectively.  He said that the Gita Mahotsav will now be held in Australia in March-2020 and Canada in the month of July.  

          He further informed that this year Nepal   is the partner country for the International Gita Mahotsav and the Nepal Government has expressed its desire to organise  a three day  International Gita Mahotsav in their country.

          On this occasion, Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj said that Haryana Government efforts under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal, the International Gita Mahotsav being held in Kurukshetra has become famous in the entire world.

GITA RECITATION OF 18 VERSES: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that on the auspicious occasion of International Gita Mahotsav, the energy of  Gita recitation of 18 verses of 18 chapters of the holy book Gita have been resonated all over the world by 18,000 students. He said that to ensure that this Vaishvik Path of Bhagvad Gita is done in every household; a 3-day group global Gita path will be organized in every district of Haryana on the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti  Mahotsav 2020.

          The Chief Minister was addressing the people of the State in the International Gita Mahotsav at the theme park of Kurukshetra today.

          On this occasion, all the students were given World Book of Records, London and medals inscribed with Vaishvik Path of Bhagvad Gita. The Chief Minister also announced that Monday will be a holiday in schools who are participating in the Vaishvik Path of Bhagvad Gita.

          The Chief Minister, while greeting from the stage of International Gita Mahotsav, being held at Kurukshetra said that last year, at this same time, the Vaishvik Path of Bhagvad Gita being recited by the 18 students was recorded in the World Book of Records, London.

          He said that the government is working to promote the Gita throughout the world. Today, on the auspicious occasion of International Gita Mahotsav, the teachings of the holy book Gita are being heard in many countries.

          The Chief Minister said that 20 countries have participated in the International Gita Mahotsav and the same was organized in Mauritius in February-2019 and then in August 2019 in London.  He said that the Gita Mahotsav will now be held in Australia in March-2020 and Canada in July.  He further informed that this year Nepal is the partner country for the International Gita Mahotsav and the Nepal Government  has assured that they will also be organising a three day  International Gita Mahotsav in their country.

Over dozen eminent industries to provide training to ITIs students

Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training Department has signed MoUs with over dozen eminent industries to provide training to students of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) so that they could meet the skilled workforce requirement of the industry.

          While stating this here today, Director, Skill Development and Industrial Training Department, Mr Prabhjot Singh said that the State has introduced Dual System of Training (DST) in 27 ITIs, wherein 70 trade Units have been started to enable industry linkages and to provide hands-on experience to students on the latest machinery and technologies. Currently, around 1,300 students are enrolled under the scheme. The Department is planning to introduce at least five DST courses in each District in the State next year. He said that the DST is an amalgamation of theoretical training through ITIs and practical through the industry. The students will get on-the-job training ranging from 6 months to 12 months in the Industries. With this, the prospects of trainees getting jobs will improve manifold.

          He said, “It was a long- pending demand of the Industry associations that the ITI pass outs should have adequate knowledge about the latest machinery and should be conversant with the work environment in the Industry.”

          He said to reduce the gap between the trainee’s learning outcomes and the Industry’s requirements, the Department has given a special attention to DST scheme. He said since the programme had started recently, the Department would review its performance after every three months.

          Mr. Singh further said government ITI Faridabad has entered into a pact with India Yamaha Motors to train the students of Machinist trade.  Similarly, GITI Gurugram has entered into an agreement with Munjal Showa Ltd. for the Turner and Welder trade.  Government ITI Hathin has entered into an MoU with Victoria Auto Pvt. Ltd. for the Sheet Metal Worker trade.  Government ITI Panchkula has entered into an MoU with Hotel Pallavi for the Food Production and Catering and Hospitality Assistant trade.

          Mr. Singh said some of the other Industries with whom MoUs have been signed include Escorts Ltd., Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motorcop Ltd., JBM Auto Ltd., Star Wire India Ltd., Shahi Exports Ltd., Imperial Auto Industries Ltd., Indo Auto Tech Ltd., Rico Auto Industries Ltd., Jindal Supreme Pvt. Haryana Government notifies schedule of holidays

The Haryana Government has notified the schedule of holidays to be observed as public holidays in the public offices under the State Government during the calendar year 2020. The Government has also notified the holidays to be observed as public holidays in the State (Except Judicial Courts, in Haryana) within the meaning of section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.

        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that a notification in this regard has been issued by General Administration Department.

        He said that besides all Sundays and Saturdays, the holidays which would be observed as public holidays in the public offices included Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti on January 2, Basant Panchami/Sir Chhotu Ram Jayanti on January 30, Maha Shivratri on February 21, Holi on March 10, Shaheedi Diwas/Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on March 23, Ram Navmi on April 2, Mahavir Jayanti on April 6, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14, Id-ul-Fitr/Maharana Pratap Jayanti on May 25, Sant Kabir Jayanti on June 5, Shaheed Udham Singh Martyrdom Day on July 31, Raksha Bandhan on August 3, Janamashtmi on August 12, Shaheedi Divas/Haryana War Heroes’ Martyrdom Day on September 23, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 30 and Christmas on December 25.

          He said that besides these holidays, employees may be allowed any three holidays to be chosen out of the Restricted Holidays. These included Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti (with State celebrations) on February 18, Good Friday on April 10, Budh Purnima on May 7, Guru Arjan Dev’s Martyrdom Day on May 26, Hariyali Teej on July 23, Muharram on August 30, Milad-un-Nabi or Id-E-Milad (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad) on October 30, Karwa Chauth on November 4, Goverdhan Puja on November 15, Chhath Puja on November 20, Guru Teg Bahadur’s  Martyrdom Day on November 24 and Shaheed Udham Singh Jayanti on December 26.
