Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called upon the youth to follow the mantra of 3Ds in their lives which included dedication, discipline and determination so as to achieve success in life.
The Chief Minister was addressing the youth after inaugurating 25th All India Inter University National Youth Festival, on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee at Mahrishi Dayanand University, Rohtak. The festival has been organised by the university in collaboration with All India Association of Indian Universities and Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and has been named as “Rajat Utsav”.
Mr. Hooda said that about 1000 participants from 63 universities of the country were taking part in this National Youth Jamboree. He was of the view that such youth festivals particularly of national level hold immense significance for both the organisers as well as participants and such festivals provide an opportunity to the youth to compete and exhibit their skills. They also enable them to understand the cultural diversity of the country.
The Chief Minister said that the future of a nation depended on the character and education of youth. He said that National Youth Festival was like a literary cultural mahakumbh as the participants would not only celebrate the spirit of youth, but would also boost the spirit of fraternity and peace. Our rich Indian culture, no doubt, presents a pageant of variety of performing arts and skills. These are unique in the world. The whole world now recognises its potential power and influence he added. To get success in the life, the Chief Minister reminded the golden words of the great Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda as he had said, “ Stand up, Be Bold, Be Strong. Take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders, and know that you are the creator of your own destiny’......‘Arise, Awake and Stop Not till the
Goal is reached”.
Mr. Hooda said that the government was committed to make the State an Education Hub. North India’s first women university named after great educationist Bhagat Phool Singh had been set up in rural area of Khanpur Kalan in district Sonepat and now a medical college too was being set up there to inspire women living in rural areas to take interest in medical education. A Rajiv Gandhi Education City was
being set up near Kundli in district Sonepat and it would have educational institutions of world class. The first phase of this project has been completed.
He said that the first academic session of Central University has already commenced in district Mahendergarh. There was a also a plan to set up a University of Animal Sciences at Hisar. Several other prestigious institutions are coming up in the State. These include a Sainik School in district Rewari, National Defence University in Gurgaon district and IIM at Rohtak.
Mr. Hooda said that Haryana Government was also taking steps to promote rich cultural heritage of the State. The internationally acclaimed annual Surajkund Crafts Mela showcasing the fascinating display of culture was inaugurated yesterday. Besides this Haryana’s has vibrant culture and the celebrations of such events strengthen our cultural fabric of the country. He appreciated the decision of the Association of Indian Universities to organize UNIFESTS under the
scheme for promotion of national integration.
The Chief Minister also released a news letter Nation-Fest 2010 Festival Daily News Bulletin. He also honoured noted music director Mr. Annu Malik by presenting him a memento on behalf of the people of Haryana.
Education Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal called upon the youth to preserve and protect the ancient culture and heritage of their states.
She said that such type of cultural extravenga provides golden opportunity to the youth to exhibit their talent and skill. She said that this Rajat Uttsav will provide opportunities to the youth to learn about the culture of other States. She urged the youth to imbibe in themselves the unique culture to get success in life as India is a great country having unity among diversities.
Vice Chancellor of Mahrishi Dayanand University, Dr. R.P. Hooda said that Haryana had rich cultural heritage as Mahabharta was fought here and Lord Krishana delivered the message of Karam Yoga on the holly land of Kurukshetra. He said that Haryana State was progressing well under the sagacious leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Secretary General of Association of Indian Universities, Dr. Beena Shah said that this festival was started in 1985 and now more than 349 universities were member of this association. She said that this cultural extravenga would prove a boon as the Youth from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnataka and North East to Maharashtra are participated in the mega Rajat Utsav.
Famous Musician Annu Malik lauded the achievements made by Haryana State and its people. He was of the view that due to the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, all round development of the State has taken place. He reveled that he had come here to search for outstanding singers as the youth of all States had come here to
participate in this cultural fest.
Earlier, Mr. Bhupender Singh Hooda redressed the grievances of the people at Irrigation Rest House, Rohtak and directed the officers of various department to take prompt action an redressel of their grievances.
