National Science Day will be observed on February 28 by Chemistry Department of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar and a function would be organized to mark the occasion.
While stating this here today, Prof. J.K. Sharma, Head of Chemistry Department said that Padam Bhushan Prof. N.K. Ganguly, President JIPMER, Pondicherry and former Director General, ICMR would be the Chief Guest in the function. Dr M.L. Ranga, Vice Chancellor of the University would preside over the function and Registrar, Prof. R.S. Jaglan would be the distinguished guest in the function.
Prof. J.K. Sharma said that the year 2011 has been declared as International Chemistry Year. On this occasion,prizes would be given away to the winners of the competitions of poster making, article writing, paper reading and science quiz. These competitions would be organised in the Departments of Food Technology, Mathematics, Applied Physics and Chemistry.
The students of various wings of the Universities, Fateh Chand College for Women, Hisar, D.N. College, Hisar, PG Government College, Hisar, CRM Jat College, Hisar, Government College for Women, Hisar, Home Science College and Basic Science College of HAU, Hisar would take part in these competitions, he added.
