CHANDIGARH, DEC 23
The Kisan Bazaar set up at Rohtak would prove to be a
milestone for improving the financial position of the farmers of the
area. The farmers will be able to directly sell their produce to the
people and earn more profits without the involvement of middlemen in
this bazaar equipped with all the latest facilities.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has directed for
setting up this Bazaar while redressing the grievances of the farmers at
Rohtak with a view to raise their income. The Marketing Board had
constructed Kisan Bazaar in the new Anaj mandi at a cost of Rs 1. 40
crore and 48 shops had been set up in it. The same had been allotted to
the farmers. The farmers would now be able to sell their produce
directly to the customers. A food court had also been set up in it.
Seven shops and two dhabas had also been made for the food court for the
farmers visiting from far fledged areas. This Bazaar would be a model
Bazaar for the other places.
He said that the facility of video conferencing had started in six
mandis of the state and Rohtak mandi was one of them. The other mandis
in which this facility had been started were Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar,
Sirsa and Gurgaon. The farmers could directly contact the senior
officers to redress their grievances and also to enquire about the
rates of the crops in other mandis. Earlier the farmers, officers of
Market Committee , Marketing Board or Adatis had to come to Panchkula
or other place for sharing the information regarding mandis in the
meetings. Now, the contact with them could be made through this video
conferencing. The facility had been started at six centres at a cost of
Rs 35 lakh and meetings could be held through it.
