A photograph of the great leader of farmers and noted social reformer,
Ch Chhotu Ram, will be displayed in the Vidhan Sabha of Pakistan’s Punjab at
Lahore.
This was disclosed by Member Parliament from Rohtak, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda
who returned from a five-day visit to Pakistan. It may be recalled that Mr
Deepender had been to Pakistan as a member of high level Indian delegation of
MPs.
In addition to the scheduled programme of the Indian delegation, Mr Deepender
visited Punjab Vidhan Sabha in Lahore. He had already informed the
concerned authorities about his keen desire to see things and places associated
with the great leader Ch Chhotu Ram in Pakistan.
The Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Rana Mohd. Iqbal Khan accorded a warm
welcome to Mr Deepender and on his request, presented a set of speeches
delivered by Sir Chhotu Ram in Punjab Vidhan Sabha. On the occasion of visit of
Mr Hooda to Vidhan Sabha, Mr Rana also announced to display photograph of
Sir Chhotu Ram in the complex of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Mr Rana expressed his
pleasure that the constituency represented by Ch Chhotu Ram was now being
represented by MP Mr Deepender and Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda as MLA.
Mr Deepender appreciated the decision of Mr Rana to display the photograph of
Ch Chhotu Ram in Punjab Vidhan Sabha in Pakistan saying that it would also make
the people of India, especially the farmers happy. Also, it would
strengthen bilateral relations between both the countries.
Mr Deepender also invited Mr Rana to visit Haryana and he accepted the
invitation. Mr Rana informed Mr Hooda that his ancestors hailed from Pehowa in
Kurukshetra district and he had a keen desire to see that area. Mr Rana, accompanied
by ten MLAs of different political parties took Mr Hooda to Shakti Bhawa, a
residence of Ch Chhotu Ram in Paskistan.
Mr Deepender Hooda has decided to handover the set of speeches of Ch Chhotu Ram
to Chhotu Ram Museum and Mahrishi Dayanand University as these would
inspire the future generations to make a significant contribution in
development of the country.
