Kanwar Pal urges teachers and parents to ensure implementation of new National Education Policy

  Chandigarh, October 28

 Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal has called upon the officers of the Education Department, Teachers and Parents of students to ensure the implementation of the new National Education Policy, 2020. The New Education Policy has been formulated according to the 21st century for a better future of the children.

          Giving information in this regard, the Education Minister said that Haryana is the first state to implement the new Education Policy in the country. The policy envisages pre-school education, play-way school concept. Besides, the state government has already decided to open 4,000 play-way schools in the state and work has started on 1,135 such schools. Similarly, 112 new Sanskriti Model Schools in English medium will also be opened.

          He said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal is of the view that the talent of a student should not go in vain owing to deficiency of funds. Thus, Super-100 programme has been started to prepare and provide national level coaching for competitive examinations like NEET, JEE to the students of government schools. The results of two such Centres opened in the beginning in Panchkula and Rewari have been very encouraging. In the first attempt, 25 students were selected in IIT and 72 students were selected in NEET, he added.

          The Education Minister shared that considering this trend of students, it is being considered to open two more such Coaching Centres, one in Central Haryana and the other in Western Haryana, the announcement for which was made yesterday on the occasion of a programme held to mark the completion of the first year of second term of the State Government by the Chief Minister.

          He informed that in view of the emotional and psychological problems faced by the children, 16 'Umeed Kendras' have been opened for tele counselling. So far, more than two lakh students and parents were given consultation and about 1,700 children and parents were counselled.

          The Education Minister said that according to the New Education Policy regarding teaching to be done through the information technology platform, the Department has provided free viewing of four EDUSAT channels.
