J.C. Bose University announced students election schedule

CHANDIGARH, OCT 11 

J.C. Bose (erstwhile YMCA) University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad has announced the schedule for Students’ Elections to form the University Executive Students’ Council for the Academic Year 2018-19 and appointed Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Naresh Chauhan as University Election Officer to ensure smooth conduct of election. The election would be held on October 17, 2018.

          The University today adopted the recommendations of the committee headed by Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of GJUST, Hisar to conduct students’ elections in its Executive Council meeting. It may be noted that the Students’ Elections in the Universities and Colleges of Haryana are being conducted after a gap of 22 years. The University is making all arrangements for the conduct of peaceful, transparent and fair elections.

          Congratulating the students on the first election of Students’ Council in the University, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar said the students’ election provides an opportunity for students to engage in a structured partnership with University administration for the development and academic growth of the University. It is an opportunity for students to discuss, debate, argue and dialogue over ideas which develops their leadership skills. He urged the students to actively participate in the election process and to follow the code of conduct and guidelines in letter and spirit. He also appealed them to contribute in maintaining a peaceful and academic environment in the campus during the elections.

          The University Executive Students’ Council will consist of four office bearers and five members. The posts of Council include one President, one Vice President, one Secretary and one Joint Secretary. The University has reserved the post of Joint Secretary for Girl Candidate to be elected by the way of draw of lottery. The five members of the Students’ Council will be elected from different faculties which include two members from Faculty of Engineering and Technology, one each from Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, Faculty of Management and Faculty of Informatics and Computing. One member of the Students’ Council as SC representative will be nominated by the DSW.

          The University has also notified and issued schedule of election. As per the schedule, nominations are invited from eligible students for Class Representatives on October 12, 2018 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for which students can obtain nomination form from the office of their respective Chairpersons and submit it in the same office. The scrutiny of nomination forms would also be done on the same day. The University would display the list of nominated candidates on October 12 at 5 p.m. The objections in respect to the nominations can be filed on October 13, 2018 up to 10 a.m. The nominated candidates would be permitted for withdrawal of candidature up to 12:00 noon on the same day and the final list of candidates would be displayed at 4 p.m. The election of Class Representatives will be conducted in their respective departments on October 17 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The counting of votes will be held on the same day and result would be declared at 1 p.m.

          After the election of Class Representatives, election of office bearers and members of Executive Committee of the Students’ Council will be held on October 17, 2018 in the Multimedia Centre of the University for which elected Class Representatives can file their nominations for various posts between 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. After scrutinising nomination forms, the candidates will be given time to withdraw their candidature, if any, and thereafter, list of final candidates will be displayed on the same day at 3:30 pm. The voting will be held between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm on October 17, 2018. Immediately after completion of polling, the counting will be initiated and result will be declared by 5:45 pm.

          While giving further information, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Naresh Chauhan said that the students, who are willing to contest the election, have to comply with the code of conduct, eligibility criteria and other guidelines and procedures given in the recommendation of the Tankeshwar Committee, which is also available on the University website www.ymcaust.ac.in.

          He said that the University has taken a preventive measure to ensure discipline and smooth conduct of election process. The University has imposed complete ban on the entry of outsiders and unauthorized vehicles in the premises. The University has asked the district police administration to deploy sufficient police personnel in the University till the completion of entire election process. Directions have also been issued to ensure the proper functioning of CCTV cameras installed in the University and recording of cameras will also be preserved, he added.

Haryana Govt planning to set up four big mandis: Dhankar

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O. P. Dhankar said that the Government is in the process of setting up four big Mandis in the state to facilitate the farmers in selling their produce at remunerative prices. Out of these, work of setting up 600 acres Ganuar Mandi in district Sonepat is in progress. Besides this, a flower market in Gurugram would be established with the co-ordination of international flower market, Rio de Janeiro to cater the demand of flowers for NCR region. Similarly, a Masala mandi would be set up in  Sonepat and an apple Mandi  would be set up in 250 acres at Pinjore.

            Mr Dhankar gave this information while addressing the media persons after the inauguration session of 32nd World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) Conference at Gurugram today.  He said that world level conference is organised for the  first time in our country which would help in taking  progressive decisions in the interest of farmers and the consumers.  Mr Dhankar said that 19 countries are participating directly in this conference including representatives from China, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Serbia, America etc. besides representatives of Embassies of various countries. In addition, representatives from Indian states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Orissa, Goa, Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand  and Haryana are participating in this world level conference.

            Talking about  strengthening the Mandis, Mr  Dhankar said that modernizing the big Mandis of the country would be  deliberated in detail  in this conference. Sharing his experiences of various big mandis, Mr Dhankar said that he visited the Beijing market  developed in 1000 acres,  Rungis market and Rio de Janeiro market which also enhanced the knowledge of delegation of the  department  who accompanied him during these visits on how  to develop the wholesale Mandis in a modern way.

             Mr Dhankar said that in the field of agriculture, wholesale mandis serve as a link between farmers and the consumers and modernizing the wholesale Mandis would be beneficial in the interest of the farmers as well as consumers.  He said that at present,  huge market is available and we have to  expedite  the  availability of products to them. He said that farmers in Europe are able to sell their products directly to the consumers,  similarly we need to find out solutions to enable common man in India to easily sell his products directly to consumers. Presently, people in India are facing numerous challenges  in selling their produce and we have to move forward by overcoming these challenges, he added.

            Mr Dhankar said that several initiatives are needed to be taken including steps for minimizing the agricultural wastes and   improving the quality of fruits and vegetables. He said that since the WUWM conference is being organised here, it  was decided in the WUWM  Board meeting yesterday evening that now WUWM would focus on developing big markets or mandis in Asia continent. He said that we should not only focus on adopting  modern techniques like developing cold chain system, but also take care of the farmer's interest.  He said that a  market of about  Rs. 2000 crore is flourishing on expressways in Haryana but these are unorganized and the fruits are sold unpacked whereas in Himachal Pradesh, the farmer's sell their produce after packaging them. Besides this five new cities would be developed under Panchgram Yojna on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal express way (KMP) Express way, which would increase the possibility of more such market opportunities. 

            Mr Dhankar said that we should develop the Mandis according to our requirements and situations, and should not follow other Markets of the world. So we would adopt only those suggestions of this conference which would be suitable to  our market situations.  He said that the representatives would also be taken for a study tour for various works under the e-NAM (Electronic-National Agricultural Market).

            Chairman, WUWM, Mr. Zengjun Ma said that India and China are neighbouring countries and he has visited India for the first time. He said that the wholesale markets of America, Europe and Japan are modern whereas markets of China and India were still lagging behind. He said that the Haryana Government and Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar have provided a great platform to people who are working in wholesale market. This would benefit farmers and consumers of Haryana, he added.

          Mr. Zengjun Ma expressed hope that after this conference, the wholesale market in India would be upgraded.

          Director, WUWM, Dr J.S. Yadav said that there are two types of wholesale markets in the world. On one hand, there are markets of Europe and on the other hand, there are markets of Asia, but both have different conditions. He said that the Board of WUWM has decided that the developed wholesale markets would assist the undeveloped wholesale markets in Asia in next five years. He said that experiences of mandis in different areas are varied but we should keep the farmers interest on top. Similarly, the reforms of mandis should also be done keeping in view the law of the land.

          Replying to a question, Mr. Yadav said that keeping in view the challenges of next five years, emphasis would be laid on stability of the market so that markets should not only become source of income, but interests of farmers should also get priority. He said that a law pertaining to food safety, sanitation and food items would be got enacted and implemented in China by 2020. Similarly, India has a lot to do in this direction, he added.

OM hails contribution of Haryana farmers, soldiers and sports persons

 CHANDIGARH, OCT  9:
 While paying rich tributes to great leader Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi today hailed the contribution of farmers, soldiers and sports persons of the State in enhancing the pride of country. He said that Haryana not only contributes maximum in the armed forces of the country but it also contribute 17  per cent in the national food basket, which is a major contribution.  The sportspersons of the state too are bringing laurels to the country and State by winning maximum medals.

          Mr Modi was addressing a mammoth Deenbandhu Samriti Rally in Sampla, district Rohtak today. On this occasion, the Prime Minister unveiled 64-feet tall statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram the tallest in Haryana and laid foundation stone of rail coach factory to be set up at village Barhi in district Sonipat.
          The Prime Minister said that the statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram which he dedicated to the people today would give a distinct identity to the Sampla and Rohtak. He also extended his congratulations in advance to the people of the State on the occasion of Haryana Day on November 1.  
       He said that today there is no village in the State, which did not have the representation in our armed forces. He said that the credit for this achievement goes to Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram as he motivated the farmers to join the Army during the British rule. Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram could not live in the independent India but he had a deep understanding of the challenges and aspirations of the people of the country.
        

  The Prime Minister also appreciated the State Government led by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal for achieving the status of Open Defecation Free especially to the Maharashi Dayanand University which have achieved first position in the Swachhta Survey and said that the State has made a remarkable progress under the ambitious Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme. The daughters of Haryana are continuously increasing the pride of country, he added. He also appreciated the State for having first beneficiary under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna. He said that within just two weeks after the launch of the scheme, about 50,000 poor people have either got treated or their treatment is in progress.
          While underlining the role of Haryana in the development of country, Mr Modi called upon the people to work unitedly for building a new nation as this would be a real tribute to Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram. He said that it is matter of pride that today that is on October 9 he has unveiled the statue of great leader Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, the tallest in Haryana and on October 31, he would unveil the statue of Iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which would be the tallest in the world. Both the leaders had worked for the welfare of farmers, he maintained. He said that Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram was the same leader who envisioned the Bakhra Dam and this is the result of his farsighted approach that farmers and  people of Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan are getting water.
          The Prime Minister said that the Rail Coach Factory which would come in village Barhi at a cost of Rs 500 crore would give impetus to the industrial development of Haryana and also provide employment opportunities to the youth. He said that with the setting up of Rail Coach Factory, 250 coaches of passenger train would be repaired and modernized every year. There would be no need to send such train coaches to far off factories for their upkeep. This would help increasing the availability of passenger coaches and the passengers would be able to get the facility of modern coaches.
       He said that the material including sheets, fans, fitting required for this Rail Coach Factory would be made available at the local level which would benefit the industries of Haryana. He said that this would also assist local engineers and technicians in enhancing their expertise in the field of rail coach factory. These experts would also be able to render their specialized services in the other parts of the country in the times to come, he added.
          Mr Modi said that during the last four years, the present BJP Government has not only honoured several great leaders and personalities but also tried to follow the path shown by them. Apart from this, various welfare measures have been taken for the welfare of farmers and small traders who were feeling helpless earlier. He said that bank accounts of as many as 66.50 lakh beneficiaries have been opened under the Jan Dhan Yojna. Apart from this, the process of obtaining loan from banks has been simplified. The India Post Payments Bank has been started to provide bank like services at the doorstep of people through postmen.

          While referring to various steps taken by the present government in the interest of farming community, he said that an arrangement has been made right from seed to market. Persistent steps are being taken for ensuring remunerative prices to the farmers, providing hybrid seeds and adequate water for irrigation.
          He said that in Haryana,  50 lakh Soil Health Cards (SHC) has been issued to the farmers to ensure that farmers get the benefit of seasonal crops. Apart from this, claim amount of Rs 350 crore has been distributed among the farmers on account of crop damage due to natural calamities. Water has reached to even those tail ends in the State which were deprived of water for last about 30 years.
          He said that recently a historic pact has been inked between six states for the construction of Lakhwar Dam which would benefit Haryana immensely. He said that on the pattern of Mandi Act got enacted by Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram nine-ten decades back for ensuring remunerative prices to the farmers, the present Government has launched a new scheme namely “Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay SanraksHan Abhiyan” (PM-AASHA). He said that present State Government is also realizing its promise of giving atleast 50 per cent profit to the farmers over and above the cost of production. MSP of 21 crops including wheat and sugarcane has been increased. The MSP of paddy has been increased by Rs 200 per quintal. Now the paddy  farmers would get MSP of Rs 1750 per quintal instead of Rs 1550 per quintal. Similarly the MSP of Maize, Sunflower and Bajra has been increased by Rs 275, Rs 1300 and Rs 525 per quintal respectively. Efforts were being made to double the income of farmers by 2022, he asserted.
          Speaking on the occasion,  the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal  requested the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi to inaugurate the remaining section of Kundli Manesar Palwal (KMP) Expressway, the work on which is likely to be completed within one month. He said that Manesar Palwal section of the expressway has already been completed and made functional.
        While blaming the previous government in the state for delaying the project, he said that the present State Government has fastracked the work on the project which was stalled for last several years. He said that the State Government has also decided to develop Panch Gram Yojana along the expressway.
        Mr. Manohar Lal said that during his last visit the Prime Minister had also announced to rename Garhi Sampla village as Chhotu Ram Nagar. Recalling the contribution made by Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, the Chief Minister said that the great farmer leader had undertaken various welfare works for the upliftment of villagers, labourers and farmers. He said that Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram had got implemented the rule of 8-hour work for labourers and one-day holiday for traders.
        The Chief Minister said that following the vision of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram, the present Government had launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana for the welfare of farmers. As a result of the welfare policies and schemes of the government, the state has been moving ahead at both national and international level.
         He said that a provision is being made for the registry of property lying within ‘laal dora’ in villages. Apart from this, the State Government has also abolished ‘Remand Pratha’ in the interest of farmers so that they would not have to make frequent rounds of the Revenue Courts to get their land-related issues settled. He said that the state also ensured transparency in government jobs and now youth were getting jobs on merit basis. He said that 8.25 lakh youth have so far been provided employment under Skill Development Programme.
        Speaking on the occasion, Union Steel Minister, Mr. Birender Singh thanked the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi for making the farmers financially strong. He said that Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram had resolved to work for the welfare of poor, farmers, people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. It was Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram who raised voice for Minimum Support Prices for crops. He said that Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram envisioned the Bhakra Dam in 1923 and today the farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan are getting sufficient water.
Himachal Pradesh Governor, Acharya Devvrat also recalled the contribution made by Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram for the upliftment of farmers, poor and people belonging to weaker sections of the society.
        Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Mr. Satyapal Malik said that the Swaminathan Report would immensely benefit the farmers.
        Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar said that Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram had worked for the welfare of farmers and poor. He got the lands of farmers freed from clutches of landlords, got their loans waived off and ensured better prices of their produce. People used to call him as ‘Chota Ram’. The State Government has been working to implement the ideals of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram in letter and spirit.
        State BJP President, Mr. Subhash Barala said that since independence, if anyone has ever tried to realize the vision of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram then it was only Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.

PM to unveil 64-feet tall statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram

CHANDIGARH, OCT 7

Haryana Minister of State for Health and Engineering, Dr. Banwari Lal said that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi would unveil 64-feet tall statue of Deenbandhu  Chhotu Ram, messiah of farmers, on October 9, 2018 at  Sampla in Rohtak. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of the Rail Coach Factory to be built in Barhi area of Sonepat district. After the unveiling ceremony of the statue, the Prime Minister would also address the Deenbandhu Smriti Rally.

          Dr Banwari Lal was addressing the people in Rewari district today.

The Minister also invited the villagers to be part of ceremony. He also inaugurated a newly constructed road in Bithwana village and announced to release Rs 12 lakh for the developments works in Bithwana village.

          He said during the ceremony, the Prime Minister would also go round the museum based on the life of Sir Chhotu Ram, where scenes depicting his life and items related to him have been collected.  Unveiling of statue of Deehbandhu Chhotu Ram is the honor to all the farmers of the country, he added.

          He said that the recipient of Padma Bhushan, Ram Vanji Sutar, has sculpted this 64-ft tall statue. As many as 5,500 farmers of the state donated from half kg to 2 kg iron metal for the construction of this statue. The people have even donated things related to Sir Chhotu Ram for the museum, he added.

 Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today inspected the preparation works for the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister on October 9, 2018 for unveiling the statue of Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram in Sampla, Rohtak.

          The Chief Minister first inspected the site where the statue would be unveiled. He also issued necessary directions related to preparations. After this, he inspected the museum based on the life of Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram. The Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr Sameer Pal Srow gave detailed information about the museum to the Chief Minister.

          The Chief Minister along with all leaders and officers inspected the stadium where programme would be held. The Chief Minister issued necessary directions, after inspecting the main stage, VVIP platform and front pandal. The Chief Minister also held discussions with other leaders and official on making the programme grand and also issued directions to the concerned officials.

EK SHAM ATAL JI KE NAAM: Jashan-e-Musahiara programme, ‘Ek Sham Atal Ji ke Naam’ was held at Government Women College in District Jind, where the poets recited shero-shayari   full of  spirit of national unity. Women poets also enthralled the audience with their shayari and poem recitation.

          This programme was orgainsed on the 32nd Foundation Day ceremony of Haryana Urdu Academy in Jind.

The Poets like Dr Samar Yaab Samar, Vijender Singh Parvaaz, Vijender Gaphil, Keshav Dev Jabir, Falak Sultanpuri, Ashok Pankaj, Asraf Mewati, Daanish Gazal Merathi, Rasheed Ali and others paid tributes to the former Prime Minister, Late Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee through their verses. The programme was though in Urdu language, despite that the audience relished the programme.  

The Director, Haryana Urdu Academy, Dr. Narendra Kumar Upmanyu said that the Academy has taken the initiative to promote Urdu language by organising such Musahiara programmes.

Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department formed

CHANDIGARH, OCT 5
The  Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya, said that the state government has established Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department for the welfare of soldiers and ex-servicemen of Indian Army and Paramilitary forces.
     The Governor was interacting with the Chief of Staff Western Command, ChandiMandir Headquarters, Lieutenant General, P.M. Bali, here today. The Director, Civil and Military Affairs, Western Command, Col. Jasdeep Sindhu was also present on the occasion.
         Mr Arya said that better cooperation between civilians and Army strengthen the faith of people and they feel secure. Over a dozen welfare schemes are being run by Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department.
          He said that the state government has enhanced the ex-gratia grant given to family members of the armed forces personnel who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty, from Rs.20 lakh to Rs.50 lakh. “This is historic decision taken by the state government,” he added.
          He said that state government is providing jobs to the dependents of martyr soldiers on compassionate grounds. He said that a war memorial is being set up in Ambala on 22 acre area in the memory of martyrs of India's first freedom struggle in 1857.
          Lt Gen P.M Bali said that the schemes initiated by the state government has raises the morale of soldiers and their families. The State Government is also going to appoint District Welfare Officers at every district headquarters of the state. This would solve the problems of soldiers and ex-servicemen, added Lt Gen. Bali.
          President, Shri Jairam Vidyapeeth Institutions, Brahm Swaroop Brahamchari Ji, also met the Governor and informed him about activities being run by the institutions. Jairam Vidyapeeth Institutions are working in education as well as social sector. 
DIPLOMA COURSE: Shri Krishna Ayush University, Kurukshetra has invited applications for admission in the Regular Course of Diploma in Pharmacy Ayurveda in Shri Krishna  Ayurvedic College and Hospital  of the state for the year 2018-19. The last date for sending the application is October 23, 2018.
     The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr Baldev Kumar said that the brochure could be obtained from the university campus or by mail. In this regard, counseling and interview will be done by October 30.

Mandi level Grievances Redressal Committees to be formed

CHANDIGARH, OCT 1

The Haryana Government has decided to constitute 40 mandi level Grievances Redressal Committees for procurement of Bajra under Bhawantar Bharpayee Scheme during Kharif Marketing season 2018-19 under the chairmanship of IAS or HCS officers concerned.

        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Committee would redress the grievances of the farmers in case of any dispute regarding specifications, payments and any other procurement related issues and would ensure smooth procurement of Bajra as per the policy guidelines issued by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

        He said that the officers would remain deputed for the period from October 1, 2018 to November 15, 2018. He said that the other members of the Committee would be Senior Officer of Agriculture Department, Secretary or Assistant Secretary of the Market Committee of the mandi and one representative from the procurement agencies, Food Department not below the rank of Manager or Assistant Food Supplies Officer.

Social security pension by Rs 200 p.m.

CHANDIGARH, OCT 1 

The Haryana Government has enhanced the social security pension for the people of the State by Rs. 200 per month.

While giving this information, Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, all the social security pensions have been enhanced by Rs. 200 per month. This enhancement would be effective from November, 2018. With this increase, the beneficiaries under all the social security pensions schemes will get the benefit of Rs. 207 crore annually.

The Finance Minister said that the present Government is moving forward in a fast pace towards fulfilling all its promises in the interest of the people of the state.  In this series, by enhancing pension under various other categories including the elderly pension to Rs. 2000 per month, the present Government has fulfilled a big promise of the election manifesto today. So far these categories were getting monthly pension of Rs 1800. He said that from November 1, Widow and Destitute Women Pension, Disability pension, Ladli Social Security allowance, dwarf allowance and eunuchs allowance has also been increased from Rs. 1800 to Rs. 2000. He said that from now, the destitute children will get Rs. 1100 instead of Rs. 900 and children with disability who are not able to attend the school would get Rs. 1400 instead of Rs. 1200 earlier.

Capt. Abhimanyu said that at present, there are total 15,13,602  beneficiaries of old age pension, 6,73,629 beneficiaries of Widow and Destitute Women Pension and  1,53,789 beneficiaries of Disability pension scheme in Haryana. Similarly, beneficiaries under Ladli Social Security allowance are 33,907 and under destitute children allowance are 2,11,403 and 9800 beneficiaries under other categories, he added.
