68.9 per cent polling in Hisar bye election

According to initial reports, 68.9 per cent polling has been reported for bye election to Hisar Parliamentary Constituency  today and Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana, Mrs Sumita Misra has thanked the electors of  the constituency for their support in ensuring smooth and fair conduct of the bye election.
          In a statement issued here today, she said that no untoward incident has been reported from any part of the constituency and counting of votes would be held on October 17.A total of 40 candidates are contesting the bye election.
          In the general elections of Lok Sabha held in 2009,  69.35 per cent poling was reported from Hisar Parliamentary Constituency.
She said that among the nine Assembly Segments falling in this Parliamentary constituency, a maximum of   75   per cent polling has been reported from Adampur Assembly Segment. It is followed by 71.67 in Uchana Kalan, 70 per cent in Barwala, 69.99 per cent in Uklana (SC), 69 per cent in Nalwa, 68.36 per cent in Narnaund, 66.63 per cent Hansi, 62.43 per cent in Hisar and 67 per cent in  Bawani Khera(SC) Assembly Constituency.
          She said that polling had started at 8 a.m. and long queues of electors were seen at all the polling booths in the constituency.
