‘Do not burn crackers. Celebrate
a safe and smoke-free Diwali’ spoke Principle R.P. Anand on the occasion of
Diwali celebrations held in the junior wing of D.A.V. Surajpur. Festive spirit
was galore when various competitions were held in the school today. While on one hand, it was diya-making for
class 4th, on the other hand, it was rangoli making for class 5th.
Students displayed their creativity & aesthetic skills while making
colorful and artistic Rangoli patterns plus beautiful, ethnic diyas. They used
mirrors, colors, beads etc to make the designs attractive.
The
programme commenced with students of class 1st to 5th
holding placards rallied on the highway encouraging people to celebrate a Green
Diwali. Later it was card making for classes 1st & 2nd,
while ‘Best out of Waste’ competition for class 3rd.
Coordinator Sukjeevan Sharma applauded the efforts of the students saying ‘Such festivals connect us with
our ancient culture and heritage’.
Overall
results of various competitions are as under: 1 Satya House, 2 Vivek House, 3 Ahimsa House
Inter- House Rangoli competition: 1Vivek House, 2 Ahimsa House, Satya House.
Principal R.P. Anand
congratulated the students and announced that merit certificates and prizes
will be given to the students in the annual day of the school.
