Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad has a plan to organize a talent search programme in the areas of music, clay modelling and drama to cover children studying in Government Secondary Schools across the State.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Parishad said that these activities would be conducted through nationally or internationally renowned performing artists in the areas of music, clay modeling, drama, voluntary organizations, Non Government Organisations and Societies for Performing Art at the school level as well as district level in the State.
He said that the programme aimed at exposing children to selected art forms like music, theatre, dance, sculpture and clay modelling, generating interest among students for visual and performing arts,
help them realize their cognitive abilities, identifying talented children and build a talent pool and carry them to a next level and using the feedback and learning to develop further programmes.
The spokesman said that all round development is one of the important aims of education. It is essential along with enhancement of academic knowledge and other aspects of personality through music, dance and sculpture, which are a part of our culture. These need to find specific place for understanding and mastering the same in our school education system. It is, therefore, essential that exposure to the best tradition in Music and dance be given to our students who are at present getting exposed only to versions available through TV shows. Although academic content in education is given to students by teachers yet it is the need of the hour that steps should be taken to educate them on live performances in vocal and instrumental music.
