The Union Ministry of External Affairs has chosen three districts of Haryana to open “Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra” (POPSK) under the first phase of its new initiative to open Passport Sewa Kendra in each district of the country in collaboration of Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Government said that the Union External Affairs Minister, Mrs Sushma Swaraj has, in a written communication addressed to the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, informed that the three districts of Haryana chosen for POPSK included Hisar, Karnal and Faridabad.
He said that the Union Minister has also informed the Chief Minister that after completion of the first phase, her Ministry intended to initiate the second phase of the scheme and efforts would be made to include more districts of Haryana, if suggested by the State Government, for the same purpose.
He said that the Chief Minister has thanked the Union Minister for including three districts of Haryana in the first phase of the scheme, adding that the opening of POPSK would immensely benefit the people.
