Internship at Pet Animal Medical Centre, Panchkula.

CHANDIGARH, FEB 15
The Haryana Government has decided that the students studying ‘Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry’ from Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar would undergo one month internship at Pet Animal Medical Centre, Panchkula.
A decision to this effect was taken in the 4th meeting of governing council of ‘Pet Animal Health Society, Panchkula’ held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, here today. On this occasion, it has been decided to increase the financial assistance being given to the Society every year from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
It was informed in the meeting that Pet Animal Medical Centre (PAMC) being run by the Pet Animal Health Society, Panchkula is only such government centre in the tri-city where excellent level medical facilities are available for pet animals. The centre has facility of digital x-ray, ultrasound, bone-plating, endoscopy and other facility of surgery. Apart from this, spa for dogs and cats, and short term hostel facility is also available for pets. 
It was also informed that 20,874 O.P.D have been registered in the PAMC in the financial year 2017-18 up to January 2018 and surgeries have been performed as per requirement in 309 cases. Similarly, 2,294 laboratory tests and 1,123 x-ray and ultrasound were performed during this period. Hostel facility was provided to 469 dogs, he added. 
The Centre also has hostel facility for students of government and private institutions coming for internship.
Others present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Departments, Mr. P. Raghavendra Rao, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Mr. P.K. Mahapatra, Director, Dr. G.S. Jakhar and other senior officers of other departments.
