65.55 lakh MT paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

CHANDIGARH, NOV 7
 More than 65.55 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana mandis as compared to over 63.44 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 61.69 lakh MT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 3.85 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers.
         He said that more than 33.45 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Over 19.30 lakh MT by Hafed, over 8.89 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 4,017 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
          He said that more than 16.76 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, over 11.42 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 8.36 lakh MT in Ambala and over 7.97 lakh MT in Fatehabad. Similarly, over 6.84 lakh MT in Kaithal, over 6.82 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 1.52 lakh MT in Panchkula, over 1.33 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 1.21 lakh MT in Palwal, over 1.13 lakh MT in Jind, 99,240 MT in Sonepat, 50,106 MT in Panipat, 40,015 MT in Hisar, 11,483 MT in Faridabad, 6,877 MT in Rohtak and 6,394 MT in Mewat.
          He said that more than 2.48 lakh metric tonnes of bajra has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far, whereas 1.68 lakh metric tonnes of bajra had arrived in the last year so far. Out of the total arrival of bajra, more than 2.46 lakh metric tonnes have been procured by government procuring agencies.
ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has accorded administrative approval amounting to Rs 73.06 crore for the work of improving connectivity of Faridabad town with KGP Expressway by providing divided carriageway of 5.5 m each on Ballabhgarh Chhainsa Mohna road from Km. 3.00 (bye pass road) upto Km. 14.96 (interchange of KGP) and strengthening of existing two lane from Km 14.960 to 21.700 in district Faridabad.
           While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Chief Minister has also accorded administrative approval amounting to over Rs 3.55 crore for maintenance for periodical repair of Karnal-Rammba-Indri Shahbad road in district Kurukshetra.
