Increase in minimum wages of workers

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to increase the minimum wages of the workers by Rs.120 per month in the State and these  would be effective from July 1, 2012.

          Mr Hooda said that the decision to increase the minimum wages would benefit more than 11.5 lakh labourers working in factories, shops, dhabas, small undertakings and brick kilns. As many as, 7.5 lakh workers are working in about 11,500 large and small scale industries and four lakh people are working in the shops, dhabas and small undertakings.

The consumer price index is reviewed after every six months in January and July and the minimum wages are determined as per increase or decrease in the consumer price index, he added.

Giving details of the minimum wages, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr.Shiv Charan Lal Sharma said that the unskilled labourers in the State would now get minimum wage of Rs.4967.29 per month or Rs.191.04 per day, semi skilled (A) Rs.5097.29 per month or Rs.196.04 daily, semi skilled (B) Rs.5227.29 per month or Rs.201.04 daily.Similarly, the skilled labourers (A) would now get minimum wage of Rs.5357.29 per month and Rs.206.04 daily and skilled (B) would get Rs.5487.29 per month and Rs.211.04 daily. The highly skilled workers would now get minimum wage of Rs.5617.29 per month or Rs.216.04 daily.

The Minister said that the minimum wages of the laborers working in the brick kilns have also been increased. Now, pathera brick and pathera tiles would now get Rs.283.03 and Rs.318.41 per day respectively. Bharai wala (a) and (b) would get Rs.127.36 and Rs.104.72 per day respectively. Keri wala and nikasi wala would get Rs. 22.64 and Rs.93.40 per thousand respectively. Mason would now get Rs.5357.29 per month.

Haryana to impart in-service teacher training

The Haryana Government will impart in-service teacher training to over 68,000 teachers of the state so as to further improve their efficiency and to ensure quality education to the students.

          While stating this here today, Education Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal said that in-service teacher training would commence from first week of September 2012 and the duration of training would be 20 days. An amount of over Rs.20.48 crore had been approved for this purpose. She said that besides this programme, 30 days induction training for newly appointed teachers had also been approved with an amount of Rs 4.18 crore. Induction training had already been given to 1,665 newly recruited science and math teachers.  

          Mrs. Bhukkal said that 12 days training programme for 5,784 Head Teachers had also been approved and a sum of Rs.115.68 lakh would be spent on this programme. During the current financial year, seven-day specialized residential training would be imparted to Physical Training Instructors (PTIs). As many as 2,720 PTIs would be trained for which Rs.38.08 lakh had been approved. The training programme would focus on creating awareness about new rules, regulations and techniques in different games and sports like Athletics, Badminton, Basket-ball, Boxing, Cricket, Hand Ball, Hockey, Football, Gymnastics, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table-Tennis, Volley-ball and Wrestling.

          The Minister said that Yoga and Self Defense Training Programmes for girl students of elementary level was being organized during current year. These programmes would be organized in 440 schools of 88 non National Programme for Educaiton of Girls at Elementary Level Blocks in a group of minimum 50 girl students per school. An amount of Rs.59.40 lakh had been approved for this purpose. Apart from this, Yoga classes in Scheduled Castes concentrated villages for students of elementary level was also being conducted in 440 schools in all the districts in a batch of minimum 50 students per school. Under this programme, ten schools per district would be covered.  

            She said that the government is also setting up teachers training institute at village Silani in district Jhajjar. This institute would provide pre-service training and prepare teachers for Primary, Middle and Secondary education. In addition, a national level institute of education and training would also be established in district Jind.

          Mrs. Bhukkal said that state government under the able guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda was committed to provide quality education to the students in the state. Several new initiatives had been taken to improve quality of education as a result of which Haryana was fast emerging as an education hub of international level. New universities and educational institutes were coming up in a big way in the state. The government was also granting various incentives like free text books, bicycles, scholarships and skill development training programmes to girls and students belonging to Scheduled Castes category, she added. 

Awareness camp for persons going abroad

The Haryana Employment Department in collaboration with Indian International Migration Organisation will organise awareness camps for students and persons going to abroad for various reasons in different districts of Haryana.

          While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that in these camps, information regarding passport, visa, employment opportunities alongwith other legal information would be imparted to all the people willing to go abroad. He said that awareness camp would be organised at Panchayat Bhawan in district Karnal on August 18, at Panchayat Bhawan, Kurukshetra and e-Disha Bhawan, Nuh on August 21, at Jat Bhawan, Sirsa on August 23, at Panchayat Bhawan, Ambala City on August 30  and at Jat Bhawan, Sector 6, Panchkula on August 31.

          He said that the entry to these seminars would be free of cost.

Guidelines for accepting foreign hospitality

 The Foreigners Division, Union Ministry of Home Affairs has issued guidelines regarding the acceptance of foreign hospitality under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), 2010 for filling of online application in FC-2 Form.
        These guidelines have been forwarded by Haryana Chief Secretary to all officers of Indian Administrative Service and Haryana Civil Service in the State.
          Under Section six of FCRA, 2010 no member of a Legislature or office-bearer of a political party or Judge or Government servant or employee of any corporation or any other body owned or controlled
by the Government shall, while visiting any country or territory outside India, accept any foreign hospitality, except with the prior permission of the Central Government.
          Rule seven of FCRR, 2011 provides that any person belonging to any categories specified in Section-6 of FCRA, 2010 who wishes to avail foreign hospitality is required to apply to the Central
Government in Form FC-2 for prior permission to accept such foreign hospitality.
          Every application for acceptance of foreign hospitality shall be accompanied by an invitation letter from host or the host country, as the case may be, and administrative clearance of the Ministry or Department concerned in case of visits sponsored by a Ministry or Department of the Government.
          The application for grant of permission to accept foreign hospitality must reach the appropriate authority ordinarily two weeks before the proposed date of onward journey.
          In case of emergent medical aid needed on account of sudden illness during a visit abroad, the acceptance of foreign hospitality shall be required to be intimated to the Central Government within 60
days of such receipt giving full details including the source,
approximate value in Indian Rupees, and the purpose for which and the manner in which it was utilized.
          It has now been decided to submit online application in FC-2 Form which is required in all cases from July 15, 2012 on the website of the Ministry http://mha.nic.in/fcraweb/fc_online.htm and hard copy
thereof duly signed by the applicant along with invitation letter from host or the host country, as the case may be, and administrative clearance of the concerned Ministry or Department of the Government may be sent to the Ministry for necessary action.

Haryana Youth Festival from August 30 at Sirsaby

The Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department will organise 19th State Level Youth Festival from August 30 to September 1 at Sirsa.

          While stating this today, a spokesman of the Department said that during this festival, competitions in solo vocal classical music, solo classical recital, harmonium light, guitar, folk song, classical and folk dance, one act play and declamation contest would be held. Also, a contest in martial arts would be held as per the guidelines issued by the Central Government.

He said that only those participants would be invited who had not participated in National Youth Festival during last three years. In this State level Youth Festival, the participants who had bagged first position in district level Youth Festival could only participate.

He said that district Sports and Youth Affairs Officer, Sirsa would be responsible for food, accommodation and other arrangements of the participants. He said that the participants getting first, second and third position in their respective competitions would be honoured with cash prize of Rs 1000, Rs 800 and Rs 600 respectively along with certificate.

He said that district level youth festivals are being organised in all the districts of the State and on August 18, youth festival of district Sirsa would be held at Chaudhary Dalbir Singh Stadium. In this festival, teams from whole of the district would participate in various cultural programmes and the teams bagging first position in this festival would participate in State level youth festival.

Independence Day Celebration at DPS Pinjore

The boundaries of world have shrunk; therefore we are not responsible only for the country but betterment of the whole world. Children dressed as freedom fighters for the fancy dress show stole the show. The way each one of them gave his introduction was laudable.
