Indian National Congress clinched 40 seats in Haryana as counting for votes polled for General Elections to Haryana Vidhan Sabha was held today at 90 counting centres in the State to decide the fate of 1222 candidates.
The Indian National Lok Dal won 31 seats. The Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) could win only six seats.The BJP bagged four seats. Bahujan Samaj Party also won one seat and Shiromani Akali Dal could win only one seat. Seven other seats were won by others.
The Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda(INC) defeated his nearest rival Satish Kumar of INLD from Ghari Sampla-Kiloi with a margin of 72,100 votes. This is the highest lead margin for any candidate in the General Elections and Mr.Hooda has set a record. The second lead margin of 46107 votes has been given by Mrs. Kiran Choudhry of INC who contested from Tosham. Mr. Venod Sharma of INC who contested from Ambala City has won with the third highest margin of 35550 votes. Similarly, the lowest lead margin of 145 votes has been given by Satpal, a HJC(BL) candidate from Dadri.
From Adampur Constituency, Kuldeep Bishnoi of HJC(BL) defeated his nearest rival Jai Parkash of INC with a margin of 6015 votes; in Ambala Cantt., Anil Vij of BJP defeated Nirmal Singh of INC with a margin of 6338 votes; in Ambala City, Venod Sharma of INC defeated Charanjeet Kaur of Shiromani Akali Dal with a margin of 35550 votes.
In Assandh Assembly Constituency, Pt. Zile Ram Chochra of HJC(BL) defeated his nearest rival Raghbir Singh Virk, an independent with a margin of 3540 votes; in Ateli, Anita Yadav of INC defeated Santosh Yadav of BJP with a margin of 973 votes. In Badhra, Raghbir Singh of INLD defeated Ranbir Singh Mahendra of INC with a margin of 709 votes. In Badkhal, Mahendra Pratap of INC defeated Seema Trikha of BJP with a margin of 12679 votes and from Badli, Naresh Kumar of INC defeated Brijender Singh Chahar, an independent with a margin of 13358 votes.
From Badshahpur, Dharam Pal of INC defeated his nearest rival Rakesh, an independent with a margin of 11385 votes and from Bahadurgarh, Rajinder Singh Joon of INC defeated Nafe Singh Rathee of INLD with a margin of 19352 votes.
In Ballabhgarh Assembly Constituency, Sharda Rathore of INC defeated his nearest rival Surender Tewatia of BJP with a margin of 23844 votes and in Baroda, Sri Krishan of INC defeated Kapoor Singh Narwal of INLD with a margin of 25343 votes; in Barwala, Ram Niwas Ghorela of INC defeated Sheela Bhayan of INLD with a margin of 9396 votes; in Bawal, Rameshwar Dayal of INLD defeated Shakuntala Bhagwaria of INC with a margin of 22001 votes.
From Bawani Khera, Ram Kishan Fouji of INC defeated Azad Singh of INLD with a margin of 6273 votes; in Beri, Dr.Raghuvir Singh of INC defeated Chatar Singh, an independent with a margin of 5176 votes. In Bhiwani, Ghansyam Saraf of BJP defeated Dr. Shiv Shanker Bhardwaj of INC with a margin of 2645 votes; from Dabwali, Ajay Singh Chautala of INLD defeated Dr. K.V. Singh of INC with a margin of 12108 votes; from Dadri, Satpal of HJC(BL) defeated Raj Deep of INLD with a margin of 145 votes; from Ellenabad, Om Parkash Chautala of INLD defeated Bharat Singh Beniwal of INC with a margin of 16423 votes.
From Faridabad Assembly Constituency, Anand Kaushik of INC defeated Parvesh Chand of BJP with a margin of 10841 votes; from Faridabad NIT, Shiv Charan Tejpal, an independent defeated Akagar Chand Chaudhry of INC with a margin of 7875 votes and from Fatehabad, Prahlad Singh Gillan Khera, an independent defeated Dura Ram of INC with a margin of 2802 votes.
In Ferozepur Jhirka Assembly Constituency, Naseem Ahmed of INLD defeated Mamman Khan of INC with a margin of 18194 votes; from Ganaur, Kuldeep Sharma of INC defeated Krishan Gopal Tyagi of INLD with a margin of 10036 votes and from Gharaunda, Narender Sangwan of INLD defeated Varinder Singh Rathore of INC with a margin of 1660 votes. From Gohana, Jagbir Singh Malik of INC defeated Atul Malik of INLD with a margin of 13016 votes; from Guhla, Phool Singh of INLD defeated Dillu Ram of INC with a margin of 5253 votes; from Gurgaon, Sukhbeer, an independent defeated Dharambir of INC with a margin of 2140 votes.
From Hansi Assembly Constituency, Vinod Bhayana of HJC(BL) defeated Chattar Pal Singh of INC with a margin of 6283 votes; from Hathin, Jaleb Khan, an independent defeated Harsh Kumar of INC with a margin of 6473 votes; in Hisar, Savitri Jindal of INC defeated Gautam Sardana, an independent with a margin of 14728 votes. In Hodal, Jagdish Nayar of INLD defeated Uday Bhan of INC with a margin of 2621 votes; from Indri, Ashok Kashyap of INLD defeated Bhim Sain Mehta of INC with a margin of 9097 votes and from Israna, Krishan Lal Panwar of INLD defeated Balbir of INLD with a margin of 2180 votes.
From Jagadhri, Akram Khan of BSP defeated Subhash Chand of INC with a margin of 4328 votes; from Jhajjar, Geeta of INC defeated Kanta Devi of INLD with a margin of 27783 votes and in Jind, Dr. Hari Chand Middha of INLD defeated Mange Ram Gupta of INC with a margin of 7862 votes. In Julana, Parminder Singh Dhull of INLD defeated Sher Singh of INC with a margin of 12811 votes.
