Haryana’s Resident Financial Commissioner, Mr P.K.Mahapatra was also present on the occasion.
This was the first visit of these students to India. They were particularly interested to visit Haryana, because of great emphasis that Haryana is giving to education. These students are from various streams of education but presently are doing the course - Search for Global Justice - Women, Work & Environment.
Prior to meeting the Chief Minister, the delegation of students has visited Mewat, Gurgaon and Khanpur Kalan. In Mewat, they showed keen interest in villages, in Gurgaon, they attended a conference and in Khanpur Kalan they showed keen interest in Ayurvedic system of medicine.
Mrs Mittal informed that next year the delegation of students will come for one week study programme. This time they had opportunity for exchange of views. They were keen to learn our management system.
The Chief Minister welcomed the students and told them that Haryana Government was laying great stress on making the State a hub of education. The State Government was providing financial help to each student, particularly the girl students. He asked the students and their professors, whether they had any Rural University in America and told them that Haryana not only had a University in rural area, but it was an exclusive University for women at Khanpur Kalan. There was also a medical college for women, he said.
The students looked very happy and satisfied after meeting the Chief Minister. Some of the students were fondly clad in Indian dress like ‘sari’. Chief Minister wish them all well.
