Haryana to organise International Yoga Day

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 15
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today said that ‘International Yoga Day’ would be organised successfully in the state on June 21 and 1000 Vyayam Shalas would be opened in rural areas in the first phase to take yoga to each   individual in the State. 
 Mr Manohar Lal, who was speaking   after inaugurating the two-day ‘Yoga Prashikshan Shivar’ organized jointly by Haryana AYUSH Department and Sports and Youth Affairs  Department at Cricket Stadium, Sector-3, Panckula, near here, today said that coaches would be appointed in these Vyayam Shalas to impart training to the youth. The ‘Yoga Prashikshan Shivar’ would   also be organized tomorrow early in the morning at the same place. 
The ‘Yoga Prashikshan Shivar’ which has been organized under the guidance of Brand Ambassador of Haryana for Yog and Ayurveda Yogrishi Swami Ramdev was attended by Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court and representatives of various media houses. On this occasion, Chief Minister also performed various Yog Asanas enthusiastically. 
The Chief Minister said that we should not   confine only to the celebrations of ‘International Yoga Day’ but also take Yoga further   to ensure mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing of the people. He said that though facilities of parks are available in almost every town and city to carry out physical exercise, yet there is a need to provide similar facilities in villages to revive our old sports traditions like yoga, wrestling and Kabbadi. Therefore, keeping this in view, the Government has decided to open 1000 Vyayam Shalas in the villages in the first phase. Each  Vyayam Shala would be set up over an area of  two acres of land to be provided by the village Panchayat, he added. 
While thanking the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that because of the efforts made by the Prime Minister, Yoga today got recognition world-wide as United Nations Organization (UNO) has decided to observe June 21 as International Yoga Day. He said that the celebration of this day would not only bring countries closer to each other, but would also immensely benefit the people and added that Yogrishi Swami Ramdev is playing a vital role in this direction.Mr Manohar Lal said that since years India has been known as Yog Guru and now even the world has accepted   it which is a matter of pride for us. Today, yoga, ayurveda and celestial message of Bhagwad Gita have become a guiding spirit for the world. He said that about 1000 years ago our saints used to travel  throughout the world with the message of Yoga and since then India has been known as Yog Guru. This discipline was on verge of extinction but with the efforts of Yogrishi Swami Ramdev the World is again recognizing India as Yog Guru. 
Speaking on this occasion, Yogrishi Swami Ramdev said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that out of total 177 countries which have supported the proposal in UNO regarding global celebration of Yoga, 47 were Muslim countries. He said that several Muslim organizations were also going to participate in the celebrations of ‘International Yoga Day’ on June 21. He also thanked the Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal for giving Yoga due recognition and a dignified place in the state. 
          While referring to ‘Surya Namaskar’, Swami Ramdev made it clear that Surya Namaskar’ is an exercise and it has nothing to do with any religion. It could not be related to worship of Surya (Sun) he said adding that few people are in the habit of creating controversy. Swami Ramdev said that today about 700 crore people in the world started understanding yoga. He said that yoga not only brings concentration but also cures various deadly diseases adding that the success of yoga depends on four factors including method, timing, continuity and concentration. He said that during this two-day yoga training camp, people would be imparted training in those yoga practices also which have been included in the Yoga Protocol of International Yoga Day. 
          On the first day of training camp, Yogrishi Swami Ramdev performed various Yog Asnas and also apprised the people about their benefits. Prominent among these Asanas  included  Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, Sukhasan, Bhramari, Udgeeth, Ardha Chakrasana, Vakra Asan and Savasana. 
          Haryana Health Minister Mr Anil Vij said that today all four pillars of the democracy are participating in this Yoga Training Camp. He said that State Government will put in place a system   as per which yoga would be practiced before the start of school, colleges and offices. He said that it is a matter of pride that trainers from India were imparting yoga training in the countries where International Yoga Day would be observed. He reminded that when the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi put forward a proposal in UNO regarding Yoga, it was approved with big applause. 
Education Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said  that with the efforts of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, 177 countries in UNO have acknowledged the power of Yoga and decided to observe June 21 as International Yoga Day.
