Faridabad would now be directly connected with Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh as the Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to bear the cost of acquisition of land in the State for this Rs 400-crore road-bridge project. It would be completed within one-and-a-half years.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, on behalf of his State Government, presented a Letter of Consent to this effect to Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh today.
It may be recalled that Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar had made consistent efforts for implementation of this project aimed at improving connectivity between Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Minister said that a 19-kilometre long stretch of the 24-km long road would lie in the territory of Haryana whereas 5-km stretch would be in Uttar Pradesh. A 670-metre long four-lane bridge would also be constructed on river Yamuna under the project. While the Central Government would provide Rs 250 crore for the construction of the road and bridge, the remaining funds would be contributed by both the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh Governments .
He said that after the completion of this project, commuters travelling from Rajasthan, Gurgaon, Palwal and Faridabad to Noida area would not have to enter Delhi area. This would also save time and help reduce pollution, he added.
COOPERATIVE SUGAR MILLS: In view of its commitment towards increasing the revenue of cooperative sugar mills in the State, the Haryana Government would carry out expansion, diversification and modernisation of these mills in a planned manner during the Swarna Jayanti Year from November 1, 2016 to October 31, 2017.
This was stated by Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover, who was speaking after inaugurating the fifth Annual General Meeting of shareholders of Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal today.
Reiterating the State Government’s commitment towards protecting the interests of the farmers, he said that Rs 417.79 crore and Rs 315.21 crore had been released for payment of arrears to sugarcane growers for crushing seasons 2014-15 and 2015-16, respectively. The State Government has also earmarked Rs 25.22 crore under its intensive cane development programme for promotion of sugarcane cultivation. Of this, Rs 3.12 crore have been allocated for providing grants to sugar mills and Rs 22.10 crore for providing seeds, fertilisers and pesticides to farmers in the form of interest-free loans, he added.
