CM announces Rs 50 lakh assistance to family of Maj Dahiya

Chandigarh, Feb 25'
 Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal, today announced assistance of Rs 50 lakh for the members of the bereaved family of Major Satish Dahiya, who laid down his life during an encounter with militants in Kralgund, district Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir on February 14, 2017. He also announced construction of road from village Nangal Nunia to Banihari and naming it after the martyr, besides naming Government College, Nangal Chaudhary after him. He also announced government job for Mrs. Sujata Devi, wife of the martyr.
        Paying glowing tributes to Major Satish Dahiya during condolence meeting held at village Banihari, district Mahendragarh, the Chief Minister lauded the extraordinary courage exhibited by the martyr. He said that Major Satish Dahiya had brought pride to the entire State with his supreme sacrifice, and he would live on in the hearts of the people of the State through his brave exploits.
        He also announced that a vyayamshala would be established in village Banihari in the name of Major Satish Dahiya.
        Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, Deputy Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mrs. Santosh Yadav, Member of Parliament, Mr. Dharambir Singh, MLA, Nangal Chaudhary, Dr. Abhe Singh Yadav, and MLA, Narnaul, Mr. Om Parkash Yadav also expressed heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
          Major Satish Dahiya, who was deployed in 30 Rashtriya Rifles, belonged to village Banihari, district Mahendragarh. He joined the Army in 2009. Major Dahiya is survived by wife, Mrs. Sujata Devi, and daughter, Priya, aged two-and-a-half years.
