CM congratulates Modi and Shah on BJP's win in Gujarat and HP

CHANDIGARH, DEC 18
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar, has congratulated the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, the party chief, Mr Amit Shah, and every one for the historical victory of the BJP in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat elections, and hailed it as a victory of the people.
Interacting with media persons here today, he said since 2012, BJP had been continuously winning the mandate of the people in the country and now the party is ruling in 19 states. In 2014, the BJP formed government in Haryana with full mandate. Since then, it has been running successfully under the guidance of the Prime Minister and Mr Amit Shah.
The increasing mandate of BJP is taking the country closer to the Prime Minister’s vision of Congress-free India, and the BJP would soon form government in those states also where the Congress is in power.
“I see this victory as sign of a big change in the country. Since Independence, people have not experienced freedom. Rulers kept changing but independence does not mean changing rulers. Real freedom lies in having a transparent and graft-free system of governance in true spirit of Antyodaya”, he said.
The BJP had worked with an eye on the poor, farmers, labour and people belonging to the weaker sections of society. The Congress Government never paid any attention to them.
The Chief Minister said during the last three years, the BJP had undertaken various works on the call of the Prime Minister. BJP governments in various states have taken further the programmes launched by the Prime Minister in their own ways. The Haryana Government has also made some changes in the system in public interest and deliberations have been made on developing a new Haryana. Some targets have been fixed and the people would soon witness the results, he added.
The victory of BJP in both states has made it clear that people voted for the welfare policies implemented by the Central Government led by Mr Narendra Modi. Victory is victory. Though the party had got fewer seats in Gujarat, but vote percentage has increased, he added.

The Chief Minister said, “On the call of the Prime Minister, discussion is being held on how to avoid elections every now and then. A new system should be developed under which all elections are held simultaneously. If such a call is made elections in most of states would be held along with the Lok Sabha and we are ready. We do not have any such agenda to hold elections along with the Lok Sabha polls, or when these are due. This entirely depends on the decision of the Centre”, he added.

SIT TO PROBE RAPE ANCIDENT: The Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, has strongly condemned the incident of rape of six-year old girl in Uklana as a huge embarrassment to the humanity and said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would investigate the case to ensure that justice is provided to the victim at any cost.
Interacting with media persons in Hisar today, Capt Abhimanyu said that taking cognizance of the incident, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, had directed that the case be investigated by a SIT.
Asked about the campaign launched by the INLD on toll tax, the minister said when in opposition, INLD leaders mislead people by giving irresponsible statements on providing 24-hour power supply and free electricity. They should indulge in responsible politics. If they feel that law is being violated in case of toll or any other issue, they could get it resolved legally. The people of the state have come to understand the politics of INLD very well and have dismissed the party, he added.
Capt Abhimanyu said the Chief Minister had already ended toll on about 30 roads in the state. The work on laying the web of road network in the country, initiated by the former Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, is being carried forward rapidly.
Earlier while redressing the grievances of people, the minister directed the District Revenue Officer, Mr. Rajender Singh, to suspend such patwaris as caused unnecessary delay in works like registration of mutation (intkal) in the district. Taking a tough stand against officers and employees causing unnecessary delay in the execution of works, he said that negligence in work generated fear of corruption which would not be tolerated at any cost. As many as 58 complaints were taken up and Capt Abhimanyu directed the officers concerned to redress them at the earliest.
Later, the Minister held a meeting with district officers and sought information about the projects which were lying pending at the headquarters in Chandigarh.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said a committee had been constituted to investigate the matter which submitted its report to the Health Department. The department has directed the Civil Surgeon, Gurugram, to provide one copy each of the report to the parents of the child and the hospital, and one copy to the police with instructions to initiate criminal inquiry against the hospital.
On the basis of report, an FIR has been registered against the hospital under Section 304 (2) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Sushant Lok Police Station. The other criminal action against the hospital is being taken under the Epidemic Diseases Act, he added.

Khallar hails media; asks it to frame its own code of conduct

CHANDIGARH, DEC 10
Hailing media as the fourth and an important pillar of democracy, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar, has said that as the government could not interfere in   their right to free expression enshrined in our Constitution, the media should frame its own code of conduct to ensure that whatever media persons wrote or telecast, is in the interest of the society and the nation.
Mr Manohar Lal was speaking as Chief Guest at the concluding session of the two-day national meet of the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees Organizations, here today.
The contribution of media to the society could not be ignored in the present-day world but maintaining credibility is a major challenge before the media. If they are able to maintain credibility, they would certainly be successful in their mission or profession, he said.
Exhorting the media persons to take media as a mission, he said in the pre-Independence days, leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Lokmanya Tilak had taken media as a mission, and not as a profession, with the aim to get the country freed from the clutches of Britishers.
As far as challenges are concerned, media and politicians are facing almost same challenges. While narrating an incident, the Chief Minister said when Mr Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country he was asked by the media about his biggest challenge. Mr Modi replied that maintaining good image of his fraternity was his biggest challenge.
Similarly, to achieve success in the profession, media persons should maintain its image and credibility. Today, professionals like advocates, doctors and media persons need to work with missionary zeal by sticking to ethics for betterment of the society.
Now-a-days, media has grown manifold and so has the competition among them. The aim of the media should be to work to eliminate social evils from the society, enlighten the people on several issues and refrain from giving news which is not based on facts, he said.
Referring to the social media, the Chief Minister said the world had become a village and this form of media was emerging as the fastest way of disseminating news from one part of the world to another as compared to electronics and print media. But authenticity of the news should be verified before circulating it on the social media. He urged media persons to separate news from views as this could present someone in bad light before the readers.
Mr Manohar Lal said the state government had implemented the pension scheme for media persons in the state and the other announcements made by him would also be implemented soon. Media rooms have been set up in five districts and the process to set up such rooms in the remaining districts is in progress. Haryana is a media-friendly state and everything possible would be done for the welfare of media persons, he added.
Those present included Director, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr Sameer Pal Srow, Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mr Amit Arya, and a large number of media persons.
