t has happened for the first time. Since the inception of Haryana in 1966, the state has logged an all-time high in paddy arrivals and procurement up to November 30, 2017. Figures for both exceed those ever recorded during any procurement season in the history of the state. Paddy procurement season ends on December 15, 2017.
The state procurement agencies procured more than 58.96 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy up to November 30, 2017 against 53.47 lakh MT mopped up during the entire paddy season last year which was also an all-time high. Similarly, over 70.24 lakh MT of paddy arrived in the mandis of the state against 69.56 lakh MT during the entire season last year which also the highest ever.
Stating this here today, the Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, said out of the total arrival, over 11.27 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers this year. State procurement agencies have also set a record by delivering more than 6.7 lakh MT of rice to the FCI against 4.5 lakh MT last season.
More than 27.36 lakh MT of paddy has been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, over 19.22 lakh MT by Hafed, over 6.49 lakh MT by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, over 5.68 lakh MT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 19,667 MT by the FCI.
Giving details of the arrival of paddy in the mandis of the state, maximum quantity arrived in Karnal (14.47 lakh MT) followed by Kurukshetra (12.12 lakh MT). Similarly, over 9.06 lakh MT paddy arrived in the mandis of Kaithal, 8.22 lakh MT in Fatehabad, 7.91 lakh MT in Ambala, 6.04 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 4.4 lakh MT in Jind, 2.32 lakh MT in Sirsa, 1.34 lakh MT in Hisar, 1.30 lakh MT each in Panipat and Panchkula, 79,470 MT in Palwal, 50,650 MT in Rohtak, 37,185 MT in Jhajjar and 2,459 MT in Gurugram.
