Govt committed to creation and upgradation of Urban Infrastructure

 Haryana Governor,  Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki  today said that the State Government is committed for the creation and up-gradation of Urban Infrastructure in the state.
              The Governor was addressing Haryana Vidhan Sabha on the first day of the Budget Session.
              He said that  the  Haryana Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017 have been published and two Real Estates Regulatory Authorities, one each at Panchkula and Gurugram, have been established to protect the interests of consumers in the Real Estate Sector and to establish an adjudicating mechanism for speedy dispute redressal.
              He said that fulfilling a long-pending demand of residents of Gurugram, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has been established. This authority is to develop a vision for the continued, sustained and balanced growth and improved quality of life and livability. It is empowered to resolve issues of traffic and mobility, sustainable management of the urban environment and social, economic and industrial development. GMDA has been established as a truly 21st century governance structure having a ‘paperless’ office and extensively using the power of technology to deliver its services and for internal functioning.
              He said that under Atal Mission of Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), a State action plan of Rs 2,565 crore for 18 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) has been approved to ensure assured tap water supply and sewerage connection to every household, develop greenery and to reduce pollution in cities. Works under 8 projects costing  Rs 722.33 crore are in progress and 14 additional works costing Rs 850 crore are likely to be allotted before March 31,  2018.
              He said that the budgetary allocation, which was increased substantially from  Rs 2,136.63 crore in year 2013-14 to  Rs 5,092.74 crore in 2017-18, is expected to see a still more significant increase in 2018-19.  
              He said that  the  Government has taken up the work of generation of electricity from municipal solid waste in a big manner. Work for two such electricity plants, one at Bandhwari for the Municipal Corporations of Gurugram and Faridabad and the other at Sonipat for the Municipal Corporations of Panipat and Sonipat has already been awarded. 12 more Integrated Solid Waste Management Clusters for other cities have been formed for modern and scientific disposal of solid waste management.
               He said that Faridabad and Karnal have been selected to be developed as Smart Cities by the Government of India. There are total of 68 projects costing  Rs 2,342.24 crore for Faridabad and a total of 58 projects costing  Rs1,211 crore for Karnal. We are also committed to make Gurugram the smartest of all smart cities in India. Works worth more than Rs 5,000 crore are already in the pipeline.
              He said that  Haryana Enterprises Promotion Centre (HEPC) was set up under the Haryana Enterprises Promotion Act, 2016 to provide clearances in a time-bound manner to the entrepreneurs. Upto mid-December 2017 Online Composite Application Forms have been filled for 2,713 projects. So far projects with an investment of  Rs 32,516 crore providing employment to 1,50,389 persons have been implemented.
