HED sign MoUs with G4S, Uber, Ola and Jaguar Foundation

CHANDIGARH, JULY 15 

 The Haryana Employment Department today signed four MoUs with G4S, Uber, Ola and Jaguar Foundation in Faridabad in the presence of the Industrial Training Minister, Mr Vipul Goel, to increase the number of employment opportunities for drivers and security guards in the state.

Giving this information today, an official spokesman said that partnering with Ola and Uber, Mr Vipul Goel launched Saksham Saarthi with a view to increasing the number of employment opportunities for drivers in the state. For this, Ola and Uber have agreed to expand their operations in the state.

           On similar lines, Saksham Rakshak has been launched in partnership with G4S to increase the number of employment opportunities for security guards in the state. For this, G4S has agreed to expand business in Haryana.

An MoU was also signed between the Mission and Jaguar Foundation to improve skilling of youth in the state. Saksham Haryana was launched in July, 2017 to achieve grade level competencies for all government school students and provide employment opportunities to at least 2 lakh youths of Haryana.

The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, thanked Ola, Uber, G4S and Jaguar Foundation for their support to Saksham Haryana and urged the youth to make best use of this initiative.

As part of Saksham Haryana, the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) too has been implemented successfully in the state with over 24,000 apprentices currently engaged in various capacities, he added.  

          The spokesman said 22 private industries appointed more than 5 per cent of their manpower as apprentices which is well above the minimum of 2.5 per cent as mandated by the law. These industries were felicitated as Saksham Saathi by the Chief Minister and the Skills and Industrial Training Minister on March 1, 2018, at an event Gurugram.

In Oct 2017, the Government of India had recognized the efforts of Haryana with the “Champion of Change” award. This initiative has received lot of support from the private sector.

Students in seven education blocks - Salhawas, Beri 2, Ateli 2 and Matan Hail in Jhajjar, Israna in Panipat, Baund Kalan in Charki Dadri, Mahendragarh in Mahendragarh--have already achieved grade level competencies.

This has been assessed by a professional third party agency Gray Matters India. The importance given to the initiative is visible with the setting up of Saksham Haryana Cell in the Chief Minister’s Office to coordinate the efforts made by the departments concerned.

Under Saksham Haryana, many more initiatives are in the pipeline and would soon be launched soon. The government is determined to improve the quality of education in government schools and provide employment opportunities to the youth of Haryana, he added.
