In a major initiative to encourage the girl students to pursue higher education, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has decided to offer one supernumerary seat in UGC approved courses for Single Girl Child from the academic session 2019-20.
While giving information in this regard, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that the State Government has taken a series of steps under ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme. In line with this programme, the University has decided to create one supernumerary seat for Single Girl Child. Accordingly, one supernumerary seat has been created in UGC approved courses being run in the University, except AICTE approved programmes that is B.Tech., M.Tech., MBA and MCA.
The admission on supernumerary seat would be made on the basis of the merit of entrance test conducted by University or marks of qualifying examination. The eligible single girl child claiming for the Supernumerary seat would be required to submit an affidavit on stamp paper duly attested by first Class Magistrate, to be obtained from the parents of the girl children declaring therein that the girl child is only a single child of their family not having any brother or sister. If the supernumerary seat in a course remains vacant due to non availability of suitable candidate, it would not be offered to candidate of any other category. The supernumerary seat would be offered to only single girl child of Haryana State. In case of more than one claimant to the seat under this category, the admissions would be made as per the merit list of entrance test or marks of the qualifying examination.
Vice Chancellor said that during the last four years, the University has started 15 new courses and increased the number of seats. In the year 2015, the number of seats in all programmes were 756 which have been increased to 1657 in the current academic session.
The University has invited online applications for its various UG and PG programs for the academic session commencing from July, 2019. The last date for filling online application form for all courses, except M.Tech, will be June 10 2019. However, the last date for submission of online application form for all M.Tech programs is June 30, 2019.
The new courses which have been started from new academics session are include B.Tech in Electronics and Computers with an intake of 60 seats, M.Tech in Power Electronics and Devices with an intake of 18 seats, B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication with an intake of 40 seats and M.A. in English with an intake of 35 seats. It may be noted that the University has already been offering M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication with an intake of 30 seats.
As per the admission schedule, the University has invited online applications for admission to all courses of M.Tech., M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Environment Science, MBA, MCA, MCA (LEET), B.Sc. (Hon.) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, B.Sc. (Animation and Multimedia), B.A. (JMC) and M.A. (JMC) and M.A (English) for the session 2018-19.
It is worth mentioning here that the admission to all courses of B.Tech and B.Tech. (LEET) of the University will be done by Haryana State Technical Education Society on the basis of candidates JEE Main 2019 and qualifying examination scores.
