CHANDIGARH, October 25
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced a Diwali bonanza for the employees of Haryana Power Utilities i.e. Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd., Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd., Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam here today.
Mr. Hooda said that the Utilities will give Rs. 3.88 crore on account of payment of bonus 8.33 percent to all the employees whose salary or wages did not exceed Rs. 10,000. He also stated that a sum of Rs. 525 to all the employees will be paid in cash as token Diwali Gift for which an expenditure of Rs. 1.94 crore will be made by the Utilities.
Accepting a long pending demand of the employees the Chief Minister announced
that now onwards the retirees of the Utilities will be given a Gift of Rs. 2000 on their retirement on superannuation, doubling the amount being given to the retirees earlier.
In order to enable a speedier implementation of the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, he announced that the Utilities will constitute a committee of senior officers which will also look into the issues of various allowances given to the employees. These arrangements will help boost morale of the employees, he added. It may he recalled that the HPGCL has already announced a generation incentive scheme for its employees with a financial outgo of Rs. 4.18 crore.
Mr. Hooda directed the Utilities to pay special attention to the cases of accidents involving employees on duty. In order to provide timely financial assistance to the unfortunate victims of such accidents the Executive Engineers in the operational division concerned are being authorized to sanction Rs. one lakh on
account of medical advance for treatment and the Superintending Engineers will be authorized to sanction upto Rs. 3 lakh in these cases.
