Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday announced to give House Rent Allowance(HRA) to the State Government employees on the pattern of Central Government and said that for the first time the employees would be given education allowance which would be Rs. 500 per child per month.
The Chief Minister, who was interacting with mediapersons shortly after hearing the grievances of the representatives of various unions of employees at his residence here this evening, said that the education allowance would be for upto two children. It would be admissible upto Class-XII and it would be reimbursible. Mr. Hooda said that these two incentives would benefit the employees to a tune of about Rs. 515 crore.
The Chief Minister also announced to constitute a three-member Anomalies Committee which would be headed by Chief Secretary and have Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Finance and Legal Remembrancer as its members. He said that the employees would be able to submit their representations to this committee upto February 15 and these would be decided by March 15, 2009.
Mr. Hooda said that the committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to submit its report on the recommendations of 6th Pay Commission for implementation in the State had recommended to double the existing HRA, but he has announced to give it on the pattern of Central Government.
Mr. Hooda said that the education allowance would also be given to the State government employees for the first time so as to facilitate them in educating their children.
These announcements were hailed by the employees present on the occasion as they time and again raised slogans in favour of the Chief Minister.
Earlier, while giving a patient hearing to the representatives of various unions of employees, the Chief Minister said that they would get higher salaries as per the new pay-scales in February and only then they would realize how much benefit they have got. He said that he was keen to give the best salaries to the employees of the State Government and also urged them to continue to render their service with dedication so as to make Haryana number one State in all spheres of development.
