Jat Sabha to celebrate Basant Panchmi and birthday of Sir Chhotu Ram on Jan 31

The Jat Sabha Chandigarh/Panchkula will celebrate Basant Panchmi and 128th Birth Anniversary of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, the messiah of peasantry and down-trodden with great zeal and enthusiasm in the premises of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram Dharmshala (near Gymkhana Club) IN Sector 6, Panchkula on January 31 from 12.30 to 4.30 p.m.
According to Dr. M.S. Malik, IPS (Rtd.), former Director General of Police, Haryana, President, Jat Sabha Chandigarh and Federation of Jat Institutions, Mr R.K. Malik, General Secretary will highlight the achievements and other social work carried out by the Sabha during January 1, 2008 to January 30, 2009 and will also submit the progress of ongoing social work both at Chandigarh as well as Panchkula and construction of a multi purpose four storied building being constructed at Sector 6, Panchkula.
Dr Malik said lectures for creating awareness on the life and role played by Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram for the upliftment/betterment of peasants and down-trodden.
The Sabha will honour all those meritorious students of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh who have attained excellency in Bhai Surinder Singh Malik Memorial All India Essay Writing Competition organized by the Sabha on July 4, 2008 at Chandigarh and various centres in Haryana.
The budding wards of the members of the society who have displayed excellency/outstanding performance both in the field of sports and academic qualification during the year 2008 will be felicitated.
The life members of the Sabha, who are retired from service during the current year. will also be felicitated on this occasion.
The winners of Poster Making Contest organized by the Sabha on November 24, 2008 will also be honoured on the occasion and a douvenir containing details of the activities being carried out by the Sabha and ideals/thoughts of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram will also be brought on the occasion.
Dr. Malik further declared that cultural programmes i.e. display of dance, singing of local songs and Haryanvi ragnies etc. by the professional artists and that of Public Relations & Cultural Affairs, Deptt. Haryana will also add colour to the celebrations.
In addition, Sh. B.S. Gill, Secretary further stated that Ch. Naresh Malik, MLA, Hasangarh (Rohtak) will be attending the function as chief guest. Dr. M.S. Malik will preside over the celebrations and Dr. Jagdish K. Gehlawat, General Secretary, Federation of Jat Institutions will be the guest of honour on this occasion.
