Army Recruiting Office, Ambala will organise recruitment for Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious teachers-Pandit, Padre and Monk) RRT-66 course in April .
While stating this today, a spokesman of the Army said that the age of candidates for the course-66 would be between 27 and 34 years for civilian candidates and between 25 and 34 years for re-mustered candidates as on April 25,2011. For civilian, the minimum qualification for appointment would be graduation in any discipline from a recognised university and for re-mustered candidates, minimum educational qualification would be 10+2.
He said that civilian candidates besides graduation should also possess specific qualifications for the post of Pandit, Monk and Padre. For the post of Pandit, they must be qualified in Madhyama in Sanskrit and Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in regional language concerned. Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit or Hindi as one of the elective subject, but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi would also also be eligible. For the post of Monk, candidates must also be a person who have been ordained as monk by appropriate authority and for the post of Padre, they must also be a person who have been ordained as priest by appropriate authority.
He said that preliminary screening including medical test would be held on April 25 for candidates belonging to Haryana (except Mewat, Palwal, Gurgaon and Faridabad districts), Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh. The written examination would be conducted on May 29.
Application complete in all respect should reach the Examination Cell, Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Ambala Cantt. by April 9, he added.
