-For the first time in the history of Haryana, the Higher Education Department has organised four placement fairs for the students of final year of the government colleges in which 742 students got jobs.
While stating this here today, Director General, Higher Education, Mrs Dheera Khandelwal said that these job fairs were organised in colleges at divisional headquarters, namely Government College for Boys, Rohtak, Government College, Sector 14, Gurgaon, Government College, Ambala Cantt. and Government College, Hisar.
She said that these job fairs evoked an overwhelming response as 30 different reputed companies including Mahindra Finance, Standard Chartered Bank, Kotak Mahindra, Emami, V Konnet, DLF Pramerica, Wipro, Ericson, Aegon Religare, TCIL, Genpact, HDFC Bank, HCL Bserve, Elofic, WNS, NIIT Uniquo, Live Wire reached the campuses for the placement drives.
Mrs Khandelwal said that the first such job fair was organised at Rohtak on March 12 where 280 students were selected and second job fair was organised at Gurgaon on March 15 in which 227 students got job. The third job fair was organised at Ambala on March 24 and the fourth at Hisar on March 26 where 175 and 60 students respectively were selected for jobs by the well-known companies.
