The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) has recorded a net profit of Rs.41 crore with a turnover of Rs 5,489 crore during the last financial year.
While stating this here today Haryana Cooperation Minister, Mr. Satpal Sangwan said that HAFED is among the leading cooperative organization of the country. During the year 2007-08, HAFED had recorded annual turnover of Rs.3,092 crore and net profit of Rs.33.78 crore. He said that activities of HAFED would be further accelerated so that farmers would get maximum facilities and remunerative prices of their produce.
Mr. Sangwan said that some of the key projects were also being undertaken so as to further enhance the profit during the current financial year. He said that HAFED is also undertaking new farmer-friendly activities like contract farming and organic farming. Further steps would be taken to make the service of HAFED more excellent, qualitative and customer oriented. International Quality Management certificate (ISO 9001:2000) had been awarded to all its offices, he added.
The Minister said that last year HAFED had signed an agreement with Kotak Mahindra Group with Rs.16 crore share capital so as to provide latest rates of crops to farmers. He said that HAFED has for the first time exported rice and mustard oil to USA under its own brand name during financial year 2010-11. Besides the federation had also exported rice to Mauritius during the same period. It was expected to further explore the possibility of entering the market of other countries for export of rice and mustard oil, he added.
