Medical colleges to be opened in all Haryana districts

CHANDIGARH, MAY 18
 Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal today said that medical colleges would be opened in all districts and Union Health Minister, Mr. J.P. Nadda would soon lay foundation stone of medical college in Bhiwani. 
        The Chief Minister, who was interacting with media persons at Meerpur, district Rewari today, said that foundation stone of medical college in Jind has been laid, and college of Ayurveda and Naturopathy would be opened in Panchkula. He said that those persons who have expressed interest in establishing medical colleges would be encouraged to open these colleges in other districts. The State Government is endeavouring to establish branch of AIIMS in village Manethi of the District, which is being considered positively by the Central Government.
        On being asked about the irregularity in Rai Sports School, he said that action would be taken against whosoever is found to be guilty in the investigation.
        Replying to another question, the Chief Minister said that priority in issuing electricity connections for tubewells would be given to farmers adopting drip irrigation or sprinkler irrigation.
        He said that with a view to tackle the extreme shortage of water in southern Haryana, the present State Government was making all out efforts for construction of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal and the Supreme Court had given its verdict in favour of Haryana. He expressed belief that the Supreme Court would give its final decision in favour of Haryana after which southern part of the state would get its rightful share of water. He said that the present State Government has approved Rs 143 crore for lift irrigation system in southern Haryana.
        The Chief Minister urged the gram panchayats which did not want liquor vends to be opened in their villages, to get proposal in this regard approved before September 20.

SMART METERS: With a view to putting a check on the theft of electricity, the Haryana Government has decided to install Smart Meters and electricity would be provided through card. It would be supplied only to those consumers who regularly paid their electricity bills.
This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, while interacting with media persons in Meerpur, district Rewari, today.
In a reply to a question, he said complaints were received from two districts regarding wrong reporting of sex ratio. These would be got investigated and strict action would be taken against the guilty, if any. “Sex ratio of two districts will not have any significant impact on the sex ratio of the state as a whole. The fact remains that overall sex ratio of the state has improved,” he added.
 AFFILIATION TO COLLEGESThe Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today announced that colleges in the districts of Mahendragarh and Rewari would be got affiliated with Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari.
He was addressing a press conference after attending the annual function of Indira Gandhi University university in Rewari, today.
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of nine projects costing about Rs 105 crore. He also inaugurated a veterinary polyclinic established at a cost of about Rs 5.5 crore in village Saharanwas.
On the complaint of media representatives, the Chief Minister suspended District Information and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Surender Kumar Verma, with immediate effect.

CM TO VISIT BHINDAWAS LAKE: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal would visit Bhindawas Lake and Wildlife Sanctuary in district Jhajjar on May 19.
          While stating this today, a spokesman of the District Administration, Jhajjar, said that the Chief Minister would reach Bhindawas Lake at 8.15a.m. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. Om Prakash Dhankar would also be present on this occasion, he added.
