The Haryana Government has constituted the Haryana State Building and Other Construction Workers’ Advisory Committee under the Chairpersonship of Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary, Labour Department.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Labour Department said that the members of the Committee would include MLAs Mr Bishamber Balmiki and Mr Randhir Kapriwas, Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Headquarter, Ministry of Labour, Sharam Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi (Nominee of Central Government), Mr Gulshan Narang of Rohtak, Mr Prem Chand Gupta of Panchkula, Mr Rakesh Sharma of Hisar, Mr Jang Bahadur Yadav of Karnal, Mr Subhash Chander Verma of Hisar, Mr Desh Raj of Hisar, Mr Surender Mohan Mittal of Ambala City, Mr Rajender Kumar Garg of Gurugram, Mr Prem Luthra of Ambala City, Mrs Rekha Dahiya of Panchkula and Mr Mukesh Vashistha of Faridabad.
He said that Labour Commissioner, Haryana would be its Member Secretary and Chief Inspector of Inspection of Building and Other Constructions would be its ex-officio member.
The spokesman said that the headquarters of the Advisory Committee would be at Chandigarh, but the Chairperson could hold the meeting at any other place in the State. The term of the Advisory Committee would be for five years. The non-official members of the Advisory Committee would be entitled to Travelling Allowance or Dearness Allowance in accordance with the Government instructions issued from time to time. However, other conditions as laid down in Travelling Allowance rules would also apply to journeys performed by non-official members except when otherwise provided.
He said that the Labour Commissioner being Member Secretary of the Advisory Committee would be the Controlling Officer in respect of the Travelling Allowance Bills of the non-official members of the Advisory Committee. The Travelling Allowance or Dearness Allowance of members would be paid from the funds of the Haryana State Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board and entitlement would be equal to Grade-I officers.
