CM orders to carry out detailed mapping of sports stadia

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 10  
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today directed to carry out detailed mapping of all  those sports stadia  which are set up over more than four acres by Sports and Youth Affairs Department to ascertain the  additional requirement of stadia  in the state so as to create a robust sports infrastructure at the grassroot level.  Besides coach or trainers, these sports stadia would be equipped with modern sports equipment and staff room, he added.
          Mr Manohar Lal was presiding over the meeting to review the progress of Chief Minister announcement of  ten departments including Higher Education, Technical Education, Labour, Development and Panchayats, Irrigation, Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB), Urban Local Bodies and Sports and Youth Affairs here today.   
He said that a robust sports infrastructure will enable the sports persons to compete more efficiently and bring laurels to the state and the country by winning medals at the national and international events.
          It was also decided that the meeting of Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board would be held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here on June 13, 2019 at 12 noon to review the preparedness in all districts of the State and to take preventive measures to meet any eventuality  of drought or flood like situation.
          While reviewing the progress of CM announcement of Higher Education Department, Mr Manohar Lal directed to frame a policy within a month’s time to provide financial assistance to poor students and those belonging to scheduled castes and backward classes to get specialized coaching in reputed training institutes for competitive examinations. This financial incentive would be given to those aspirants of the State who are preparing for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Haryana Civil Service (HCS) and have cleared their preliminary examinations.
          The Chief Minister also directed that a list of deaf and dumb students in the State pursuing graduation in different streams be prepared at the earliest so that all such students who are interested in pursuing their Post Graduation could be provided teaching facility at a single institute  where hostel facility would also be provided to them. He also asked the Labour Department to prepare a scheme with the assistance of Health Department to ensure  that besides the ESI card holders, general public also avail the treatment facilities at ESI dispensary and hospitals  in the State. It was informed that Haryana is the first State in the country where ESI hospitals are also empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana launched by Prime Minister, Mr Narendra  Modi.  
          It was informed that the Municipal Corporation, Gurugram has cleared the proposal for the allotment of 18 acres land at Faridabad Gurugram road for the additional campus of  which the  Chief Minister would soon lay the foundation stone.  It was also informed that the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department has agreed to transfer land measuring 2.5 acres to the Technical Education department for the setting up of Government Polytechnic College in Jind. Similarly, land measuring eight acres has been provided for the expansion of Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Murthal, district Sonipat.
          It was informed that the rehabilitation of Jui Feeder from RD 0 to 173400 would be taken up in five phases at an estimated cost of Rs 51.36 crore. Apart from this, a study would be got conducted for the construction of dam in Chhamla and Dakrana for sharing Ghaggar waters. It was also informed that as tenders have already been floated and opened, the work for the extension of Fatehpur minor by the Irrigation Department would soon be started.
          Among those present in the meeting included Chief Secretary Mr D.S Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Deputy Principal Secretary Mrs  Ashima Brar, Additional Chief Secretary Power Department and Works related to implementation of C.M. announcements  Mr T.C. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary  Higher Education and Technical Education Departments Mr Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary Development and Panchayats Mr Sudhir Rajpal, Principal Secretary Urban Local Bodies Mr Anand Mohan Sharan, Principal Secretary  Irrigation Mr Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary Women and  Child Development Mr Raja Sekhar Vundru, Director General Urban Local Bodies Mr Sameer Pal Srow, OSD to Chief Minister Mr Amarjit Singh, ADC to Chief Minister Mr Rajnish Garg and other senior  officers of the State Government.
