The seven-day 17th Sukriti Workshop began with an aplomb at D.A.V. Senior Public School, Surajpur. Aiming at the character and personality development of children, the workshop was inaugurated by S.D.M., Kalka , Sh. Yogesh Kumar amidst shloka uchhaaran, lightening of lamp and a melodious welcome song by the students.
Principal Sh. R.P. Anand in his welcome speech to Mr. Yogesh Kumar, SDM, Kalka, also apprised the students of the Salubrious effects of the workshop, saying that he as the head of the institution targeted not only at eh academic excellence but the entire grooming of the personality and character of his students.
Sh. Yogesh Kumar expressing his delight at such a unique effort by school, also urged the staff to raise issues like Female feticide , gender equality , HIV Positive in the workshop to sensitize the children of such problems prevailing in the society.
The workshops to be taken up during the camp would be yoga, civil defence, computers, art & craft, dance & music, literary skills, health and nutrition and karate.
Co-ordinator Dr. Mrs. Renu Sood motivated the students to make hay while the sun shines, make the most of such workshops that came their way as, they would help them exploring the new dimensions of life.
Similarly Mrs. Shashi Gupta Co-ordinator Curricular Activities expressed her views by saying that ‘Every child has an inborn talent and Sukriti Workshop serves as an excellent platform to explore and hone that talent, thus following religiously the newly introduced CCE system in education.
