Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) Hisar has instituted a life time achievement award to recognize the lifelong contributions of faculty members of the university, disclosed the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. K.S. Khokhar here today.
The award carrying a plaque of honour, citation and cash prize of Rs. One lakh would be biennial, he said, adding that it would be conferred upon faculty members who had achieved excellence in their field of study, followed high standards of values and ethics throughout their career and made outstanding contributions of significant impact in the fields related to agriculture.
Regarding nomination for the award, Dr. Khokhar said that a candidate above 60 years of age on December 31 of the second year of the biennium of the award and had served for atleast 20 years as faculty of CCSHAU, would be eligible for the award. He said the award would be presented at a university level function.
Dr. Khokhar further disclosed that a scheme for awarding incentive to scientists of the university who win research grants from external agencies, had also been envisaged.
He said under the scheme, an appreciation certificate would be given to the scientists who got a research grant of Rs. 25 lakh or below per year. Similarly, the scientists winning research grant between Rs. 25 lakh and Rs, 50 lakh would be conferred an application certificate and an honorarium of Rs. 20,000, whereas an appreciation certificate along with an honorarium of Rs. 40,000 would be presented to the scientists bagging research grant of above Rs. 50 lakh per year.
