Asia’s finest Art pottery has also reached Kurukshetra to adorn the Saras Mela in the ongoing International Gita Mahotsav. This work of art pottery is done at village Khurja of Bullandshehar in Uttar Pradesh. Each house in the village has the finest of artisans of Blue Art Pottery. Therefore, the village is known in whole Asia for this Art Pottery. Artisan, Rekha Rawat has brought this pottery for tourists.
She said that she is into this art for the last 14 years and has also provided employment opportunities to over 12 persons in this art. She has brought beautifully crafted designs of bowls, teacups, big jars and lanterns.
A disabled craftsman, Akleem Ahmed along with his brother has brought a beautiful hand-woven carpet . Mr Ahmed said that they have been coming to this event for the last 10 years. They have brought carpets, foot mats, rugs and others for the tourists.
A stall of Patiala tilla jutti was major attraction among women tourists. This time, Vijay from Patiala has especially has brought waterproof juttis which have been made with hands. The craftsman has even been awarded a National award in 2013-14 for the craft. Apart from this, he has also been honoured at Suraj Kund Mela and Saras Mela by the State government.
A stall of e-Learning has also been set up with the support of NIC and Education department for children. It was also one of attraction for the tourists. Here, children have free entry and they are given all important information of the world and shown the Discovery channel. At the stall, children were updated on subjects like fancy dress, clay modeling, painting competition and others.
The e-Learning stall has about 50 experts to interestingly teach children on various subjects, so to educate them through play.
CM TO INAUGURATE GITA MAHOTSAV: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal will inaugurate the International Gita Mahotsav to be organised in all the districts across the state on December 16 from Gurugram.
While giving this information, an official spokesman said that the inauguration programme would be organised at the complex of Apparel House in Sector-44 so as to connect the people of the new Gurugram city with the celebrations.
He said that an exhibition based on Gita depicting significant events would be displayed at the premises to add grandeur to the event. Stalls of various religious institutions like ISKON, Shri Mata Sheetla Devi Shrine Board and others would be set up along with the exhibition of various welfare schemes of the State Government to make people aware about schemes and take its benefits.
He said that on the occasion, students would also chant shalokas. The Chief Minister would later inaugurate the exhibition and watch a performance based on Shrimad Bhagvad Gita and other cultural performances by school students and artists of Haryana Kala Parishad.
