Prof Dinesh Kumar selected for Most Eminent Vice Chancellor Award"

 Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been  selected for “Most Eminent Vice Chancellor Award" under 8th International Human Rights Award-2018 instituted by All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS), for Peace Harmony, Protecting and Promoting Human Rights through Education.
          The award has been bestowed on him for his outstanding contribution to the Education Sector as Vice Chancellor. This prestigious award which carries ‘Certificate of Excellence’ is given to those individuals, world peace leaders and business leaders who show exceptional leadership in serving to humanity. The award ceremony, which is being organised to mark the International Human Rights Day, will be held on December 9, 2018 at India Islamic Centre Auditorium, New Delhi.
          Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who is also the recipient of prestigious Homi J. Bhabha Memorial Award of Indian Science Congress awarded by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2016, is the fifth Vice Chancellor of J.C. Bose University and his tenure as Vice Chancellor has been remarkable and the University has made notable achievements under his leadership. 
          On the Academic front, the University has received ‘A’ Grade accreditation by NAAC and NBA accreditation of its various courses. The University has also made its presence in NIRF ranking at National level. The University has also got affiliating status and 18 Engineering Colleges in district Palwal and Faridabad are now affiliated with the University.
          Due to his untiring efforts, the University has succeeded in getting grants from Central Agencies under TEQIP-3 and RUSA which has boosted the academic and infrastructural development. An ardent researcher Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who obtained his Master and Ph.D degree from Cambridge University, has published more than 100 research papers and his teaching and research career spans over 30 years. 
76 FILE NOMINATIONS: As many as 76 candidates have filed nominations for Mayor and 757 candidates for Municipal Councillors to contest elections in the upcoming elections in five Municipal Corporations and two Municipal Committees of Haryana to be held on December 16, 2018.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the State Election Commission said that of the total 76 candidates who have filed nomination for Mayor included 43 male and 33 female. These candidates included 11 belonging to Scheduled Castes category, 22 candidates of Backward Classes and Other Backward Classes and 43 candidates of General and Other categories. Among these candidates, one candidate is 8th pass, 28 candidates are matric pass, 10 candidates are ten plus two pass and 12 candidates are graduation and above pass. The average age of candidates is 42 years.
        He said that 757 candidates who filed nominations for Municipal Councillors included 389 male and 368 female. These candidates included 212 belonging to Scheduled Castes category, 152 candidates of Backward Classes and Other Backward Classes and 393 candidates of General and Other categories. Among these candidates, 16 candidates as 5th pass, 68 candidates are 8th pass, 341 candidates are matric pass, 154 candidates are ten plus two pass and 57 candidates are graduation and above pass. The average age of candidates is 38 years.
        It is worth mentioning here that general elections of seats of Mayor and Members of all wards of 5 Municipal Corporations including Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal and of 2 Municipal committees including Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) and Pundri (Kaithal) would be held on December 16, 2018.
