Cut of date for LTC for pensioners in Haryana

CHANDIGARH, MAY 20 The Haryana Government has clarified that in the current block of four years (2008-2011), the cut off date for reckoning the age of pensioners for the payment of travel allowance (one month's pension) to them would be December 31, 2009 for the pensioners of age group of 80 years and above and 70 to 80 years and for the pensioners of age group of below 70 years, it would be December 31, 2010.
Similarly, in the block year (2012-15), December 31, 2011 would be cut off date for eligibility for the pensioners in the age group of 90 years and above, December 31, 2012 for the pensioners in the age group of 80 years and above, December 31, 2013 for the pensioners in the age group of 70 to 80 years and December 31, 2014 for the pensioners in the age group of below 70 years.
A letter to this effect has been issued by the Chief Secretary, Mrs Urvashi Gulati.
It may be mentioned that the State Government had already implemented a new scheme of Leave Travel Concession (LTC) for its pensioners on the pattern of the State Government employees.
Under the scheme, one month's pension is admissible to the State Government pensioners in a block year of four years in lieu of LTC / HTC facility.
The pension to the pensioners of age group of 90 years and above shall be disbursed along with the regular pension for the month of January in the first year of the block of four years, the pension to the pensioners of age group of 80 years and below 90 years shall be disbursed along with the regular pension for the month of January in the second year of the block of four years, the pension to the pensioners of age group of 70 years and below 80 years shall be disbursed along with the regular pension for the month of January in the third year of the block of four years and pension to the pensioners of age group of below 70 years shall be disbursed along with the regular pension for the month of January in the fourth year of the block of four years.
During the current block of four years 2008-2011 (1.1.2008 to 31.12.2011), the pension to the pensioners of age group of 80 years and above shall be disbursed in the year ending on 31.12.2009. The pensioners above 70 years and below 80 years would be disbursed travel allowance along with the pension for the month of January 2010 and for the pensioners below 70 years, the travel allowance would be paid along with their pension for the month of January 2011.
