DEHRADUN, MAY 31
In one of the biggest upsets in Indian sport climbing history, eight-time national champion Praveen CM of Karnataka was pushed to third place in the Men’s Open Lead Climbing Competition for the Mussoorie Cup on Sunday. The event was organised by Indian Mountaineering Foundation in association with ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police).
The Mussoorie Cup is one of ten IMF Cup events, at the end of which the champion will be decided on aggregate points.
The Mussoorie Cup was won by Kharak Singh of ITBP, while Azil from Maharashtra was second. Sixty-one climbers from all over the country took part, with the Army, Navy and ITBP sending their teams.
