LIC organizes blood donation camp

On the occasion of 54th anniversary of LIC and Insurance Week celebrations, Chandigarh Division organized blood donation camp at Divisional Office, Chandigarh with the assistance from Blood Bank Department. PGI here..  Sr. Divisional Manager, Chandigarh Division Raghupal Singh inaugurated this camp along with Dr. Suchet Sachdev, Dr. Usha Rao of Blood Bank, PGI Chandigarh in the presence of large number of employees and officers of the Chandigarh Division. 
This blood donation camp evoked tremendous response as it recorded the highest number of blood donors in any of the previously held blood donation camp in LIC. As many as 115 employees, officers and agents of LIC Divisional Office and local branches of tricity donated blood today. A camp was efficiently managed by the technical staff of blood bank PGI Chandigarh. Mrs  P. Vijaylakshmi, Manager (Personnel) and Mr  P.K. Chhabra, Manager(PMR) supervised all the arrangements for holding this camp.
In his address, Mr  Raghupal Singh, Sr. Divisional Manager LIC appreciated the noble gesture shown by the donors for this great human cause and motivated them to make it a regular exercise after every three months as every individual can donate blood after this period. He further stated that LIC has been always a fore runner in social activities and this being another event in the context of its 54th anniversary and insurance week celebrations. He thanked the doctors and the entire team of the PGI for their stupendous contribution and announced that such camps would be a  regular feature.
Dr. Usha Rao and Dr. Suchet Sachdev of Blood Bank appreciated the move by LIC and expected the management to organize many more blood donation camps in times to come.  All the donors were served refreshment and momentos were also presented on this occasion.
