CHANDIGARH, July 11
The initiatives taken by Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal and Health Minister Mr Anil Vij, the agitating Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) have decided to withdraw their agitation.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that today a meeting was held by Additional Chief Secretary, Health Mr K.K.Khandelwal with the agitating ANMs and GNMs. They were informed that the Department of Medical Education and Research, Haryana with the concurrence of Haryana Nurses Registration Council has decided that first year students of the ANM and GNM Batch 2013-14 would be allowed to pursue second year course for ANM and GNM without waiting for the resolution of the issue regarding declaration of result of ANM first year examination held in November, 2014 (ANM Admission Batch 2013-14) and GNM first year examination held in November, 2014 (GNM Admission Batch 2013-14).
The first year examination for ANM and GNM shall be held alongwith second year examination of ANM and GNM in the month of November, 2015. Suitable time gap would be kept between the first year and second year ANM and GNM examinations.
Meanwhile, the State Government has constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor, Maharashi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal to examine the integrity of first year examination of ANM and GNM held in November, 2014 and give its finding as to whether the examination process has been vitiated.
The Committee has been asked to submit its recommendations or report to the government within seven days.
The decision on conducting of ANM and GNM first year examination shall be subject to the report of the Committee.
