Haryana to recruite 7200 police personnel

CHANDIGARH, JULY 6
 As many as 7200 police personnel including 1000 women police personal will soon be recruited in the police department. This time, written examination will be conducted in the recruitment process whereas only five percent marks will be kept for interviews so as to ensure complete transparency.
This was disclosed by Haryana Director General of Police Mr Y.P Singhal.
He said that in the recruitment process, 95 marks out of the total 100 marks would be of physical test and written examination while the interview would carry only five per cent marks. He said that the selection would be completely transparent and Radio Frequency Identification Device would be used during the physical test.
The DGP said that the working of the police department would witness an unprecedented transformation in the coming three years. With the selection on merit basis, the efficiency of the department would improve considerably, he added.
He said that for the first time ever since the inception of the State, the Government has decided that 50 per cent of the compound fees collected by the Traffic Police would be spent on traffic education or traffic resources. He said that presently, large numbers of deaths in the State are caused due to tragic road accidents. But with this step of the State government, these figures would reduce significantly. He said that 500 additional motorcycles would be added in the police department so as to further strengthen the traffic system in the State
Mr Singhal said that, with a view to provide housing facility to the police personnel, about 3000 new houses would be constructed. The increase in resources of the department would help in improving the functioning of the police, he added.
