Haryana to expand public relations activities in Delhi

CHANDIGARH, AUG 19
The Haryana Government is working on an action plan for expansion of its information and public relations activities in Delhi and the surrounding areas, to ensure effective dissemination of information about its policies, programmes and schemes to the people of the state.
       This was disclosed by Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, while presiding over a meeting of the District Information and Public Relations Officers (DIPROs) from different districts and senior officers of the Department, at Panchkula, near here, today.
        She directed the officers to abide by the values of honesty, hard work and transparency, espoused by the present government. and disseminate information about the policies and programmes of the state government to the people.
        Asking officers and employees in the field to work as a team, Mrs Khandelwal said that all their grievances would be resolved at headquarters level. The officers should further enhance their skills and lay greater emphasis on the use of tools of Information Technology. They should also conduct regular meetings with officers of the district administration to keep themselves abreast with the latest developments, she added.
        Describing the post of DIPRO as an important unit of the district administration, Mr Sameer Pal Srow, Director, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, said that field officers would be provided all tools of communication technology, including computers. Officers and employees of the district putting up best performance would be felicitated.
        He also urged the officers and employees to take to the social media for publicising the policies and schemes of the government, especially in the light of the ‘Swaran Jayanti’ celebrations to be organised in the state throughout the year to mark the Golden Jubilee of Haryana’s inception, and the international-level ‘Gita Jayanti Mahotsava’ to be organised later this year.
        Mr Srow lauded the efforts of the District Information and Public Relations Officer, Ambala, Mr. Paramjit Saini, for creating a WhatsApp group linking officers of the district administration, district education officers and about 250 schools. This initiative would not only help in acquainting children with activities of the government, but also enhance their skills, he added.
        Those present at the meeting included Additional Director (Administration), Mr. Samwartak Singh, Additional Director (Administration), Mr. Parvesh Kumar, Additional Director (Press), Mr. Rajiv Khosla, Joint Director (Administration), Mr. Kuldeep Saini, Joint Director (Production and Magazine), Mrs. Raj Pannu, Deputy Directors, Dr. Ved Prakash, Mrs. Urvashi Rangara, Mrs. Anita Dutta, Mrs. Vandana Sharma, Senior Exhibition Officer, Mr. Rajiv Abrol, all district information and public relations officers and officers in-charge of other branches of the department.
